We are heading to Animal Kingdom in January and it looks like the park closes at 7. Does anyone know how late Yak and Yeti stays open - how late can you make a dinner reservation. Also do you think River's of Light will be offered. Ideal plan was to head back to Animal Kingdom in evening and eat at Yak and Yati as well as see the River's of Light Show. Any suggestions?

Going in December and have a 5:45 reservation. I'm considering cancel tusker house adr so not to waste an hour eating then have to leave the park right away and not enjoy the night time ambiance.
May rush to epcot and extend for 2 hours of fun.

If you go to the dining reservation page for Yak & Yeti and choose the date you are interested in, it will show the times for which reservations can be booked.

Are you asking about whether ROL will be performed that night or if Y&Y participates in the ROL dining package? I haven't seen any January 2018 activities and events calendar for AK yet. As far as the ROL dining package it has only been available at Tiffins and Tusker House. Y&Y is a third party restaurant so it is unlikely to participate.

I think with all of the additions to AK, what will actually be happening in January will be a toss up. Hours could be added and two shows a possibility. I agree that Y&Y is unlikely to be a part of the packages. Most parks you can make reservations up until closing. It's all a bit frustrating when you need to make 180 ADRs. We did Tusker House for the package in May and it was fine. Food was very good, characters were a bit unorganized and the setting pretty chaotic. We love Y&Y. We wish we had done Tiffins for the package. We did need either the package or a FP to see ROL in May but it may not be as popular by January and if you are not going 1st week of January or MLk weekend you may not really need the package.

Chatted with someone at the podium a few years back, said they typically take reservations up to 15 minutes before park closing, BUT I have noticed often when the park hours get expanded sometimes they have later ADR hours and sometimes not when looking at the Disney site. Have been able to find them on Open Table though, not sure if they still participate as I haven't booked that way recently.

So do you get escorted out of the park if you have a late ADR and your dining goes beyond park hours?

Usually most restaurants take ADRs right up to park close. At AK we had a 7pm dinner at Tiffins on a night with a 7pm close and when we left we were just about the only people in the park. They had several busses waiting when we left and we got our own private coach back to our hotel. So while I can't speak to Yak n Yeti, we hadn't had an issue with a closing ADR.

Also on Yak n Yeti they tend to not show a lot of availability online, but you can also call them and make a reservation. They tend to have a lot more options and availability this way

As the previous poster said, not escorted per se, but when leaving the Yak & Yeti a few times after park close there have always been a few CM's "conveniently" walking to the exit with us as they ended their shifts.
