Young children riding rides alone

Hi there! It's been awhile since my last post. We're planning our second family trip to WDW this Spring Break!! There are several rides that my husband and I won't ride, but our daughter really really really wants to ride (mainly Hollywood Tower of Terror). How do we get her safely on the ride and then pick her up at the end of the ride without either one of us having to ride it with her? (I think she is old enough) She's ready to go NOW! Of course if she has to stand in line alone she will just have to sit it out. I didn't know if we could stand in line with her until she gets on the ride or how it worked. LOL I have searched the boards and come up empty handed. Thanks for the information!!!

Tower of Terror - Walk all the way in with her, take the chicken exit, and the CMS will let you wait at the exit to pick her up.

Don't know how old she is but you seem comfortable with her doing the actual ride alone.

You guys can walk through with her..then they will escort you to where she will exit when she is done on the ride.

My DH Tim walks with me in line and exits when I get on..he said it was cool to see some stuff when they take you through the exit.

Thank you so much for your quick responses!! DD will be 10 at the end of January. She LOVES roller coasters and stomach turning churning rides but DH and I are the complete opposite!

Her first roller coaster ever was Space Mountain - since then, she's been in love with thrills and chills! (The Mummy movie didn't scare her, but Sleeping Beauty did --- go figure!! LOL)

Thanks again!!!

get in the single rider line. It takes about 10 mins to get to the loading area of the ride and then take the chicken exit. Do not wait in the other lines.

Tower of Terror does not have a single rider line. Rockin' Roller Coaster does - that may be the way to go if she wants to ride that.

At 10 she may be okay to ride alone but I would double check before waiting in lines. My boys are 6 and they would not even let them ride Dumbo alone while I was in another car with my daughter.

I told her that she could decide when she got there weather or not she wanted to ride it. She asked me about being scared when she was on it, and told her that she could decide before she got on the ride. I hate being so chicken when it comes to stuff she wants to ride!

She asked me about being scared when she was on it...

If it helps at all, we rode it one time recently with a *3* year old! He was just barely tall enough and riding with his parents. He was a bit... stunned might be the word... by the experience (and I'm sure his little bum didn't touch the seat the whole time) but he rode like a trooper. Personally I think 3 might be pushing it, but we've had 7-10 year olds in our car plenty of times - whooping and hollering and having a great time with us "big people". Some of them even rode it with their hands in the air (like me!) I love it when I see young "thrill junkies" in the making.

Hope you all have a great time!

WOW 3?? Kudos to him! I have an almost 3 year old and I can't imagine him getting on.

When my son(9) wanted on and I did not feel like riding EE for the 10th time I sent my son in the single rider line watched him be picked for a coaster then told him I would be right at the exit. You could always wait in line with her and have them direct you to the exit so that you can wait there for her when she gets off.He loved the single rider line nice and fast and easy on both of us. Have fun on vacation

The minimum age to ride without an adult is 7. I know this because my younger daughter is very small for her age, and she and her sister (8 at the time) wanted to ride Peter Pan together, with me and Mom in the following ship. The CMs checked with me to make sure she was 7.

I saw this thread and laughed a little because we just got back and while waiting in line for Rockin' Roller Coaster there was a brother and sister in line and the sister looked like she was 9 or 10 and the boy was about 12 and the boy chickened out and was getting out of line and I guess the sister had to get out of line too because she wasn't allowed to stay in line alone, and she was so mad she yelled really loud "you ruin everything for me!!!" It wasn't very nice, but it was a little bit funny, so we tried to wait to laugh till they were gone. Poor kid, she will probably never let him live that one down.
