Your worst moment at a Disney park?

Okay, I'll add mine. The worst was in 1999 over Thanksgiving. My mom looked at me on Pirates and said, "I can't breath". We got off the ride walked to a seat in front of the Swiss Family Treehouse. Her eyes were turning bright red and her skin was a freaky white gray. Then she passed out. I was 13, and didn't know what to do. So, I walked over to the nearest store and asked for them to call 911. A CM came over to check on her, and luckily my aunt Ann was walking by at that time. My aunt stayed with me while we waited for the emergency people to arrive. My mom regained consciousness and when they got there they checked her out then we wheeled her back to the Contemporary in a wheelchair. She was a lot better when we got back to the room. Unfortunately. the trip went downhill from there. We took her to a clinic that night that gave her a steroid shot thinking she had an allergic reaction. She actually had mono and ended up in the hospital the next day (which was Thanksgiving day). So the Magic Kingdom was the place of my worst experience.

Nonpark bad moments:
Our room was robbed at the Contemporary several years before that. And another trip we had a snake (that was supposedly poisonous) get into our room. In 2005 I got food poisoning from Plant Hollywood's salmon (as did my best friend who ate the same thing). And while we've been at WDW at home my pony died in 1995, my grandpa sawed his thumb off and broke his arm, and our entire herd of broodmares disappeared (they were later found several miles away in a hay field). So, I've had bad experiences that didn't involve a park too.

We contacted the desk, told them about it, they insisted it didn't happen which made NO sense at all and we just finished our trip! Nothing we could do really.

We had come back from being out for the evening and our room door was open with the security bar thingy pushed over to keep the door open. We are 1000% positive we closed the door and I even had to go back in for something so we know it was closed. You could tell our things had been "disturbed" but nothing was missing. CBR sent us a huge bouquet of flowers which was very odd since they kept denying it happened. They did a read on the lock and the last time I went in wasn't on the record so something was definitely going on.

We were at the CR for 11 nights in January and had a similar experience. As soon as we checked in we noticed that the material on one of the chairs on our balcony was badly ripped (we couldn't have sat in it). So I called house keeping to ask for it to be relaced and they said no problem. So we left room to get a bite to eat at Contempo Cafe and look around the pool a bit. We were only gone less than 2 hours. But when we came back the security bar was in the door, leaving the door ajar. At first I thought house keeping must be in the room but no, it was empty. Our luggage hadn't been delivered yet but we had left our carry on including lap tops, cameras, etc on the sofa. :scared1:

I was NOT impressed. They had replaced the chair on the balcony and obviously accidentally left the door ajar. I was shocked but DH wasn't upset at all, he said it was just an accident and didn't want to get anyone in trouble over it. :rolleyes1 But I insisted on calling the front desk because I thought they should be aware it happened and so they could mention it to the staff in hopes that it wouldn't happen again.

I was polite when I called but the girl didn't seem to care, she said the manager wasn't at the desk right now but she'd tell him :sad2: I never heard from anyone about but we just let it go. But I was surprised that could happen at CR :sad2:

. Needless to say, I will never pay extra for a party again.

(seriously, these parties kill me...).

I couldn't agree more. they get extra money from some people, limit park time for others.

we are taking an early sept trip (right after labor day) staying at BLT. walking distance to MK. Mk closed early for Nights of Joy AND MNSSHP! halloween party? in early sept... really? worst part. no fireworks during Nights of joy., so no watching thenonexistant fireworks from top of the world lounge, or our balcony, or whatever. (yes, I know I should have known about nights of joy, but, a halloween hard ticket event in september, when halloween isn't until oct. 31st?)
just another way to force people to spend extra money to spend a full day in the park OR purchase a park hopper.

hey it could be worse... we decided to go to MK this year on Sept. 15th. Planned around the parties, made all our ADRs, and got everything in motion... a week later the hours for MK inexplicably went from closing at 9pm to closing at 6pm!!! There is no party listed that day, no explanation given... when we finish our dinner at Tony's, we will have to leave the park as it will be closing!!!!

In 2008, I took the wife on a Second Honeymoon to Disney. Stayed at the Grand Palm GF Club level. 6 full days. Deluxe Dining, Halloween party. Keys to the Kingdom, Segway tour. All the bells and whistles. On DAy 4 after riding Space mountain, I got a pinch in my right side. I chose to ignore this "Pinch" and keep with the joy of disney. By that Evening I was iin true pain, but "Chose" not to tell my wife, or let on that I was hurting. On day 5 it started to feel like cramps and I couldn't really stand up straight, I was kind of a walking "L". At noon my wife looks at me and says, "Are you Trying to Die on me? Are you having a HEat Stroke or what?" I tell her, I think I ate some bad food or something I'm ok. We continue with the day, Do Citrico's and the Halloween party that Night. By this time I'm a mess, I was running a good fever and was in agony....but By god, I wasn't going to let this RUIN OUR DISNEY TRIP!!!!

Long story shortened, I got on the plane and made it back to Minneapolis and demanded that the wife take me to the emergency room. I thought for sure I was in the middle of appendicitus...nope, I had burst a Blood vessel in my gut and had bled enough as to have a softball sized mass in my belly. The doctors were very upset that I hadn't immediately gone to an emergency room. My wife...She was furious with me for risking my life to have fun at disney.

But come on Honey...it was Disney! I will say the all bells and whistles tour of disney is great...even whilst suffering from internal Bleeding :-)

It wasn't at a park, but on one of the buses going back to Pop from MNSSHP one night. There was a small engine fire or something, and even with the emergency thing beeping the driver didn't stop for awhile, even though it'd been beeping since leaving MK, and when he did stop the bus was filled with smoke, but he didn't want to let anyone off, but we did get off, and when we did we could clearly see there was a fire. They sent a new bus for us, and took all our names and info saying they'd contact us later, but I never heard from them again. It was really miserable though, as we had to wait for awhile, and were standing in swampy grass water on the side of the road late at night.

I don't really have one myself, but I was at Magic Kingdom once with my wife, who was coming off of foot surgery and was on crutches. She needed to take a breather, so I was walking her over to a bench. When I got to be about 20 feet away, a woman saw me, made eye contact, and bolted for the bench and sat down on it before I could get there and then looked up at me with this smug, "beat ya" look on her face.

Couldn't believe it. I would hope if she was responding to this post, she'd recognize that as a personal low moment. In fairness, for all I know, she could have needed the bench even more than we did, but the way she handled it was completely juvenile, particularly for someone who was probably in her 50s. W.T.H.

Oh, mine was when I ended up having a kidney infection while on vacation. I was SOOOO sick. I never had one before and although I started feeling ill before we left home for our vacation, it didn't really get bad until day 3....at this point we ended up spending an entire day at Centra Care, and then I was completely out of commission for 2 whole days of vacation....it was a disaster.

Had the button of my shorts decided that it wanted to take it's own vacation . Just sat down to have dinner @ Pops when it shoot off and rolled across the floor. Had to sit there and let the crowd die down before I could make my way back to the room. Learned the lesson of always wear a belt. not matter what.

I had that happen once! Stopped at the bathroom after Splash Mountain and it just fell off. It didn't roll away, thankfully, and I had a belt on, so it wasn't too bad. My mom sewed it back on when we got home, but it still likes to pop off every now and then! :sad2:

we check out of blt that day so I don't have anything in my notes about it. I do vaguely remember reading about an annversary party? don't you just hate when disny encourages you to plan, plan, plan, then changes everything up?

I have a couple, though nothing serious.

1989- Went to WDW with my parents and 2 siblings. My parents do not plan anything, so the whole trip had been a little rough. We had driven from Texas, and the morning we were leaving, there was a wreck on the road we were on. There were police officers directing traffic, so my Dad stopped as instructed. The full size truck behind us did not. Our Ford Escort lost that battle. It could still be driven, though, so we went all the way back home with some serious damage, including no rear windshield.

2010- My 2nd trip, DH & kiddos' first. At Epcot, we were waiting in line for the characters. We expected and planned for a long line- had things to keep the boys occupied. We were about 3rd in line when DS5 just lost his marbles. He has autism and had a full-on screaming melt down. He LOVES characters, but wanted nothing to do with them. Mickey even followed us around trying to cheer him up, which was so sweet.

After we made it through we headed over to Soarin. Ds spotted some cinnamon rolls and asked for one, and we suddenly remembered that he had refused breakfast that morning. We fed him and he was a new child and the rest of the day was wonderful.

Could have been terrible: Same trip, 2010. We had just arrived and headed for Epcot. It was pouring rain when we got off the bus, and DS7 took off running to get out of the rain. He wasn't looking where he was going and ran right into the chains at the bus stop. He was just the right height that he completely clotheslined himself. He fell to the ground, and everyone around just stared for a second. Then he popped back up, laughed, and looked around, embarrassed. There was a family just on the other side of the chains and the Dad gasped when it happened, and actually patted DS on the back when he got up. It was so scary, but we still laugh about it now.

This is unrelated, but it reminded me of something that happened a few years ago. I was at a big swanky dinner with work, and had just bought a dress with one of those long zippers down the back. {This dress was not at all tight!}

Anyway, I shake hands with the Chancellor of the entire university system, and then head to the next station to get drinks. About that time, I lean forward and I guess put the tiniest of pressure on that zipper and the whole back came out!!! My bosses wife and SAINT was the only person that saw what happened.

We headed off to the ladies room with the bosses wife's hands holding my dress together. One zip down and one zip up fixed the whole thing. I wore that dress many, many times after that and never had the smallest issue with the zipper.

I was one of the first to leave that night. I was a nervous wreck!!

Yes, we are going in Oct again (same time as our last misadventure at Ohana's.....but we were sure to look at the weekends and picked the only one that doesn't have a party twice during our visit!
