Elin - This crown has been a disaster from the get-go. It is in the VERY back of my mouth, yet the dentist (not the one I go to now) put a porcelain over gold crown in. The insurance said I didn't need porcelain that far back so they only covered a tiny portion of it. The porcelain started to chip off after a year or so. When I first went to the dentist where I go now I told him it was chipping, and he said as long as the metal underneath is intact it is OK. I am pretty sure the reason I have pieces breaking off now is because it is glued in backwards, which means my bite is striking it at a different angle than before. I can't believe the dentist put the old one back in after he saw what poor condition it is in! Well, yes I can, because their office was closing Wed. afternoon all the way through to Tuesday so they were in a hurry to get out.

Hello all! We're home. I spent most of the day trying to catch up here. I read about 60 pages but am still about 90 pages behind. I loaded the 1400 photos I took onto my Mac and have been adding photo frames to the 369 photo pass photos so I can get my prepaid CD. About 100 photos are Elizabeths and another 38 are my friends but we had over 200. We kept seeing the same photographer at Epcot. He got some great shots-especially as Emma got to "know" him and would actually look at him.

We saw a few new characters for us-Abu, Launchpad McQuack, Jiminy Cricket, Remy and Marie. Emma wouldn't go near Sleeping Beauty or Minnie because they were too girly. She did see Safari Minnie though.:rotfl: I think her favorite was Abu.

It was really hard to get my family to keep up with my touring style. I tried to take a slower pace (stayed in bed past 8am so my family could sleep) but I just ended up getting annoyed with them so I started getting up early and tried to get them to the parks at close to opening. I'm looking forward to my November trip with just 1 child. We had a great trip and I don't think anyone thought 10 nights was too long. I could have stayed for another week.

POR was nice and the mousekeeping was great. She arranged our "friends" every day. The first night Emma complained to me that the AC was too loud and was scaring her. The next day when we returned from the parks they had replaced the AC (we had not said anything). We had a few good meals at the food court-the pasta station was very good. Gene liked the relaxed atmosphere there. The busses were fine. BUT...I think I like Pop Century better. I didn't like that I couldn't get a couple things at the food court that Emma would have eaten like a hot dog or PBJ. You could only buy an 8oz carton of milk at the food court and the larger milks were at the gift shop but it didn't open very early in the morning. The lines for waffles were CRAZY. The crowds were never as busy when I've been to Pop so maybe its just as crazy there in August but the food court at Pop seemed to handle the crowds better. The resort is huge and very spread out. It was a hike to the food court and the buildings are all zig zaggy. I like the straight lines of the buildings and much more direct pathways at Pop.

It was great to meet up with Elizabeth and Anne Marie. The kids were instant friends. Elizabeth recognized me in the parks. She rode TOT with Lizzy, Joe (his first time) and I while her DS stayed with DH & Emma. Then she, her DS, Lizzy (her first time) & I rode RnRC. Dinner was great! We had a photopass photographer take a group photo but we lost Emma for a minute or so. She had pulled out of DH's hand. She was with 2 CM's crying when I found her. She had our phone numbers on her wrist band but wouldn't talk so the CM's didn't notice. She was much better about pulling away from us for the rest of the trip and didn't whine too much when DH took her back to the resort while Lizzy, Joe & I went to Fantasmic with the others. The kids had a great time. It was Joe's first time.

Joe also tried Everest and Space Mountain and loved both. Emma tried Big Thunder Mountain and loved it.
Sounds like a wonderful time, Bernadette. Can't wait to see some pictures.

So who else is serious about a beach week next summer?

I couldn't do a week, but I could probably do a couple of days. It would depend on what days DH was off that week. I need to find out if my bosses are definitely going to France. If they are then I can travel during that time without using any of my vacation days.

I need help. :surfweb: You know I so rarely ask for help, this must be a biggie.:headache: :headache:

My DGD, 10 has joined a traveling cheerleading team. The first event, Hollywood goes to Hershey is December 1-2. She loves cheering.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Much better then soccer or even ballet. She loves cheering with stunts and choreography. Now I have already cancelled my HH beach vacation during her spring break, so she can compete in the Battle at the Capital, in Fairfax, VA.

The first event, I'll be in Disney with my surrogate grandson, his first trip!!! They said they couldn't go to Disney without me,

Now my DGD's competion dates are busy. Boo Hoo....:sad1: :sad1:
Oh oh Fairfax! That is right near us!

Just remember Stephanie, you are going to have to divide your time between all of your grandchildren. You can't be everywhere at once and will have to miss some things. They will learn to understand. :grouphug:

Elin, I would encourage them to bring their own stroller. They can pull it up to the gate at the airport so they won't have to lug the kid through the corridors. It will be his own stroller that he is used to, probably recline. Tell them to bring his stroller.

I don't know what my son was thinking, but he brought his son's little umbrella stroller!!! No!! Bring the McClaren with the cup holders and basket for storage and sun visor. Something sturdy for him to sit in for hours on end. Something to support his back. The stroller they use when they go to the mall, that collaspes with one hand, that he calls home.

Anyway, that's my opinion. FWIW, my DD loves hers. We go nowhere without it. And it travels well on Disney buses. No problem at all. Folds with one hand and has a small footprint. Invaluable at the airport.
I have the opposite opinion of this. I hate having to push a stroller through the airport, along with trying to lug around carryon items. I would rather have my kids walk, since they will be doing a lot of sitting on the plane. Plus having to fold up the stroller and put it through security....ugh. Then after sitting all that time on the plane they get to walk in the airport again to stretch their little legs. When you get to the resort the stroller is waiting for you. Just thought I would throw out another view.

Marci & Robyn - I remembered that I can't do Monday the 9th for dinner. Religious Ed. starts that night at 6:30 and I volunteered to be an assistant this year.

Good morning, DDA!

WE GO TO WDW NEXT MONTH

:cool1: :thumbsup2  :woohoo: :cloud9: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

Tammi, are you going to do the yard sale? I think that it's next weekend.
Really? How did you find that out? It would have been nice of someone to publish it. I have a ton of stuff that I could get rid of.

Hi Chanon. I got the confirmation in the mail yesterday. Thanks!

Happy Saturday DDA!

I don't think I've posted since Tuesday, the day Alyssa woke up from her nap with a fever and my SIL called and said she had strep throat...

Kevin stayed home Wednesday morning, just in case I had to take Alyssa to the doctor, but she woke up with no fever. He went to work, and by lunchtime, her temp was creeping up again. So I called the nurse and she said to come in Thursday if she still had it. Alyssa still had the fever Thursday morning, so we went to the doctor and they did a strep swab too. The doctor said they were seeing a lot of kids this week with fevers and no other symptoms. :confused3 Nice $20 co-pay diagnosis! We won't know the results of the swab until today, but she didn't have a fever all day Friday or this morning.

However, Matthew woke up with a 102 temp after his nap yesterday. Grrrrrrr!!!! He was totally happy all night though, so I guess it's the same thing. He still has a fever this morning, but he's one happy boy. :confused3

I wish we actually knew what was causing their fevers and it would have been really nice if this had run concurrently, but I guess I need to be grateful they're happy! :upsidedow

Amy - Hope they are both feeling better soon!!:wizard: DS comes down with "streppy" looking viruses pretty often, but the swab is always negative. Whne he got sick at WDW in Feb. I would have bet money that it was strep, but it wasn't.:confused3

:wizard: that the fevers are just a virus and that they run their course in a few days.

Elizabeth, I'm going to buy stock in Target based on your school supply list! :rotfl2:

Tammi, Emily told me that she thought it was that weekend because it always falls on the weekend of the race. The race is the 8th. I'm going to try and find out for sure. I'll let you know.

What race?

ETA: Oh, Nascar.

I always remember it being in October. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Let me know what you find out.

Elin, your story the other day the meeting you had to endure had me chuckling. Kevin comes home from EVERY city and church meeting grumbling about someone who carried on too long about something. I definitely would have offered to pay the $65 too!

Debbie, sending lots of prayers to that family! Just last week, a local high school principal did the same thing...left her sleeping 2-year-old in her car while she went to a 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. school meeting. Her car windows were tinted, so no one noticed the little girl until that afternoon. I can't imagine how that poor child suffered on that 100 degree day. It hasn't been decided if the mother will be prosecuted, but there have been tons of editorials, on both sides of the issue. Awful. :guilty:

Speaking of awful, Robyn, UGH! Your MIL is a piece of work. Lucy's slideshows are BEAUTIFUL! :cloud9: Thank goodness you have a wonderful husband and adorable children to counteract that witch!

Bernadette, welcome home! I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures and hearing more details about your trip. :)

Tom, I'm sorry that Leighanna is so wiped out. Hopefully she'll recover this holiday weekend. :wizard: I think it's inevitable that most students and teachers get a cold at the beginning of the school year.

I know I'm missing people, but it's time for us to get a jump-start on the day. Kevin has a long list of things he wants to do around the house. Not my idea of fun, but since Matthew has a fever, we shouldn't venture out anyway.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
