all the farms around here have larders....pantries are city words.

I lose people easily...it sounds right in my head. :confused3

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Oh, there are some people I would LOVE to lose! Not on here... but in real life. :rotfl2:

Could you upload the picture to a Walgreens in her area and then have her pick them up and pay for them? It would be instant...and then the responsibility to pay & get them falls on her.

Oh, you smarty, you!!

Weather here is horrible. Good thing that I decided to stay in Lansing. I would have made it home last night. However, I'm not sure I'd be coming back down tomorrow or Monday. It started as snow and is now changing to sleet. I'm glad I'm in for the night. I made plans to work at one of the offices downtown tomorrow but if it stays this way, we'll work late Monday & Tuesday night instead and I"ll hibernate in my room at the Residence Inn.

Several of my team were down here for a meeting yesterday and left when I would have. I made them call me when they got home. The last one arrived at her house at 2:15am. They said the roads were slick. The last one to call started off "Hello Mother Hen". When did I turn into my mother? It used to drive me crazy that she wanted me to call her as soon as I made it to my destination. Now I do the same thing to my kids and even my staff. :lmao:

I am glad you decided to stay in Lansing too, Vicki. As for the requisite phone call at the end of traveling, we do it too! And I think it is very thoughtful of you to ask your staff to let you know they arrived safe and sound when the weather is suspect.

We are watching Santa Claus 2 & Theresa is correct. The principles(Carol)parents were not divorced :thumbsup2

Thanks, I need to pay closer attention!

 I hope that things were better after this.

Dh and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary next spring, and we've been together for 24 years. He still doesn't get that my venting isn't directed at him sometimes. I can't just be in a bad mood, apparently. He does understand (and use) sarcasm very well, though. :rotfl:

Thanks Beth. So it never gets easier  :rotfl: Today was crazy hectic but a good day.

Happy Birthday to Nicholas!!!

I didn't realize that he was so close in age to Miles (he turned 8 in May).

Happy Birthday to Emma, too!!!

Thanks Beth!

We need to do a DDA Kiddie meet! I bet they'd get along famously!

I remember those. It was so much fun to be able to buy my own gifts.

I can remember buying my sister a piggy bank her first Christmas. She was a month old and I was 5. I got her this piggy bank with a clown who was holding a hoop. There was a dog on the other end of the bank and when you deposited money the dog jumped through the hoop. I was so proud of myself! :rotfl:

Theresa- Sorry you didn't get a good shot of Cassidy. Have fun at CiCi's. We love that place but the last time we went it was a horrific experience. Too many people and not enough pizza.

Janet- Sorry your washer didn't get delivered but yay for not having to do :laundy: Stay safe, I hate ice storms.

Kristine- :yay: for boot shopping. I love the list gadget!

Elin- Love the ornament! I want our tree to go up tomorrow but it may not happen :sad1:

Tammi- :cheer2: for surviving the sleepover. Seems like a great time was had by all. Rest up!

Karen- I sure hope that nurse is there the day of your surgery to help calm you.

Chanon- Enjoy visiting with your mom!

For those I missed-'s and :wizard:

Yes we did, but we were cold. Bob came through town on the way home from the party that he took Nicholas to. I told him to stop and put the chairs up. After I got home with Alyssa from her party we dressed warm and headed out, parked at that vision place and walked across the Chatham Bridge. I wish they had the Clydesdales like they did last year. But when I put my dogs out a little while ago it was sleeting at my house!

I bet you were cold! It is 40 here according to my Desktop Weather. I just let Button out and there is nothing falling from the sky here. :(

again...sounds right in my head...dress is a marching term...means she's staying in line, tempo...all that.

OH! Thanks for increasing my vocabulary tonight, Theresa! Does that mean that with her in the center the line on either side of her is more apt to stay together?

Can I get opinions?

My MIL called this afternoon and asked us to send her pictures of the girls....for her Christmas Cards.:confused3 She wants them within a week and didn't offer to pay for them or the mailing....the more I thought about it the more irked I got. First they aren't her kids, second she didn't offer any reimbursement, third she wants them immediately.

Am I being unreasonable??

Kristine kind of beat me too it. My thought was to email her a photo and let her print it where ever she wants on what ever time schedule she likes.

Speaking of pictures, I picked up Colby's at Kmart today and they came out really good. I should scan them in for you guys to see. I already have one on the wall and so does my Mother.

I think it's sweet you care so much.

I've never heard that term before. Maybe I should have paid closer attention when I was in marching band :rolleyes1

When you say she wants pictures, how many is she asking for? If she is asking you for one picture so that she can make copies. I totally understand that. They are her grandkids and she wants to show them off. If she wants you to make the copies, then she should pay for them. I would just give her one picture and let her make the copies.

::yes:: You should!

I'm off to bed. I was asked to cover for another waiter tomorrow night so I need to get sleep now and accomplish something tomorrow before work.

Good night all.

I think it's sweet you care so much.

My staff are very important to me. They are really the greatest group of people I've ever worked with. Every one of them has such a great work ethic and putting them all together really emphasizes how special they are. When they do things with other teams, I'm constantly told how awesome they are. They are always willing to go the extra mile. I'm so proud to be able to say I'm their supervisor.

Not that I don't care about everyone being safe but my team are special to me. Actually, I've been worried about the other 45 people that were at the meeting down here yesterday. It was a meeting of the Team Leads for this project that I'm coordinating. Most of them had bad weather going home. The difference is I worry but don't lose sleep over it. I lose sleep over my family & team.

So today went rather well all things considered.

We got up this morning and cleaned the house. Then Eric decided to empty the fridge and move it to the deck by himself. That was a great plan until some mystery dark liquid starting leaking all over the carpert :scared1: I have no idea what it was.

We managed to get everything in the house in order which most of the time is an exercise in futility with a 3 year old running around behind you. My mom came over and got the girls bathed and helped with some other party prep. M

The delivery guys called at 3:30pm and said they'd be here in a half hour. Perfect timing!! ;) Our guests arrived and were quite shocked that we were fridgeless  The delivery truck made it here and got the fridge set up in about a half an hour. We then put everyone to work and unloaded the old fridge- it was plugged in on the deck and moved into the new one. Then the guys got the old moved downstairs. We had an old fridge in the basement that got hauled away.

The party went well and everyone had a great time. Emma loves hanging out with her "family". Here are some pics from this afternoon

I cannot believe that I am still awake! I did not have a nap today and 4:00 was a very long time ago. I think I will sign off here and read a bit before bed. Good night, everyone!

I didn't realize what Theresa was saying until she said it was a band term. Before she explained the term, I knew what she was talking about (and I've never been in band and neither were my girls).
