***Epcot Food And Wine Festival Info 2008***

Getting excited to go (2 weeks!) but wanted to do a little research for a friend coming with me. She is vegetarian and we will be eating around the world for one of our dinners. Where can I find info on veggie booth offerings. She does eat fish so that will help. Is there info posted on this or do we have to ask at each booth? Any help would be appreciated.

ps - we are also doing PFTS on the 18th. Is there alot of veggie stuff available usually for this. It will be our first time attending.

I'm a lacto ovo vegetarian :) I was transitioning into it during FWF last year, and this year I haven't had any issues so far. The CMs are usually knowledgeable about what goes into the samples, plus the recipe books give clues as well.

If I have some time today I can pick out on the list what's pescetarian.

I did call WDW FEST about vegetarians during the 10/18 PftS, and was told that they don't make special accommodations for vegetarians. However, from doing it in the past, I know that the chefs are more than happy to just give side dishes (say, if it's beef served on a bed of polenta). I'm personally not concerned about the PftS, since I know there will be more than enough to choose from - especially with the lovely cheese tables!

Edit: Ok, this only took a second. These are the offerings that are pescetarian, however I am not positive on the soups in Spain or Poland, that they do not contain beef, chicken, etc, stock.

Thank you Forever42! This "ladies only" trip is very special for my pescetarian friend. She lost her husband two years ago (we are all in our early 40's and he was 50) to cancer. They have two beautiful kids (4 and 8) and this will be the first time she is going away without them. Her parents are watching the kids. She is looking forward to going (six of us in all) and I want everything to be wonderful for her. Disney was a special place for them so tears will be shed, but in good way. She did take the kids this Spring for a few days so they have been back since his passing.

I don't eat red meat and have had no problems getting my fill from the booth's, but it's different when no meat is involved. I'm glad the PFTS will have plenty of options too!

Thanks for the great info!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the cards. TY!!!

I took it one step further. I shrunk them down and put them all on one sheet of paper. I will only carry that one sheet with me so that I lighten my load as much as possible.

Does anyone know or remember if the prices include tax or do I need to figure more for that? I am going to buy DH, DD14 and I the gift cards so that we wont have a ton of little charges on the Disney Visa and I was trying to fiqure up how much we would need.
Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone! :goodvibes I just wanted to tell you that I've updated the score cards after checking them against the menu photos here...

F&W Festival Booth Menus

Only a few changes, so if you already printed them, I wouldn't bother doing it again. I mostly had spelling errors in my haste to get them done... I had a few problems with 'sauvignon' LOL! :rotfl: But, it's all fixed now. Oh, and I updated the Brewer's Collection card back on page 165. All of the beers are listed now. :thumbsup2

Ok, was there for opening weekend..

Loved the crab cakes:) And the Prosecco, (Martini and Rossi) with the cheese pairings at Mouse Catch...

The Sweet Sundays event with Baked was well worth the price of admission, had a great time! Cm's were great there!!!
Enjoyed a sparkling wine seminar..wish I had time for more of those!! lol

I am getting so excited! :cool1: We have been to the F&W fest before but this is our first time to take our best friends. In the past they have had a bar on the walkway from Future World to World showcase with champagne and other wines. Is that there this year? I would love to start the trip with a glass of champagne and I want to know whether I should hit the festival welcome center first or if we can head to world showcase. Thanks!

No, they haven't done that for a few years now. We always start with champagne as well. They have tattinger in the festival center at the festival bar, and moet booth, like they have had the past couple years.

Love the Moet, used to be a Tattinger girl, but the nectar Imperial is very yummy. It also doesn't give me really bad acid... Ain't I sophisticated?

Mine are printed and bound as we are leaving tomorrow - Cannot wait. Sam was so excited to see his book again last night......thanks to you. I'll see if I can slip in the brewer's collection page.....actually, I put lines on mine so maybe I could write in the list of beers....that works.

Thanks again so much.

Well, did a 1/2 day at Food & Wine yesterday, and really had a good time. I forgot how awesome it is on a Wed or Thur, before the ungodly crowds show up.

Highlights for the day included the free Quintessa tasting (which is not to be missed), the Rieslings in Germany, the Bodegas Norton Reserve Malbec at the Argentina booth and the Pierogi's in Poland.

The new "themed" booths are awesome, and really impressive.

Anyway, grabbing breakfast and then into the park for a full day today. Can't wait ! We'll get to hang there all day, until dinner this evening at Il Mulino.

OK question - where is the Quintessa tasting and how often is it)

I hope my question has not already been asked. I am going to the 10/18 PFTS. This will be my first PFTS. I was told by Disney that we are not sent tickets for F&W events. So, how does this work? I am assuming someone will be checking names at the entrance to the party. I apologize if my question seems simple. My mother purchased the tickets and she is a little uneasy about not having tickets.

I saw a few in the Festival Guide for this weekend. I think today's is 6:30pm.

The wineries doing seminars change every week, but there are lots of good ones on the list. Even if quintessa isn't there when you visit, there are plenty of other nice ones worth seeing - just check the guide when you get here.

You just check in - they have a list. It's always a good idea to have your confirmation number with you just in case

I made my first PFTS last year. When we checked in, they gave us wrist bracelets to get in.

Hope this helps.

And if they can't find your name on the list, it's probably because they have it spelled incorrectly. Make them check.
