****** Free 7 Day Ticket!!!!! ****** Daily Sweepstakes Now??

I got the free ticket and am so excited! We are thinking about a November/December trip! Here is my question -- we are possibly moving before then so the address will not match. The name and city would be the same, but not the street address. Do you think this will be a problem?

I'd say just keep and bring a copy of a utlility bill or something like that with the old address and I'd think it would be fine (if they even end up checking addresses when you pick it up - that may not matter as long as the name matches). I obviously don't know for sure, but it sounds like the real valididation they're doing will be between sending the email (i.e. now) and 4-6 weeks from now when they send the confirmation code through the mail.

I'm sure their validation will throw out any obvious duplicates that have the same mailing address. I wonder if those duplicates will receive anything explaining why they don't get the code in the mail... :confused3

I would think that it would toss the duplicate address but not the first one. We didn't do that but I am sure there are others who did. I think if they were one of the first 100,000 and used the same address twice they aren't going to completely screw them over. They knew people would at least try that.

Congrats to you that won!!! :cool1:

I'm soooo bummed, I really thought I'd win because I was on the computer when someone (can't remember who) said they just showed the commerical in Chicago, I sent in my entry and one for my sister (two different emails and two different addresses), but I didn't win. :sad2: I wonder why? Do you think it was because I don't live in Chicago? But it said you could sent the link to friends and have them enter. Oh well, you win some and you lose some---but why did I have to lose this one???

I don't know... Something sticks in the back of my mind that was on the page when I registered that made me think that they were really serious about not having more than one per household, and that they would essentially discard all entries if duplicates were found. But of course, I can't see the actual entry screen now to remember what it specifically said.

Hmmmmmm.....could get interesting.

I won one too! I've never been to Universal Orlando (been to Hollywood a couple times, but not since 1987!). We are going to Disney in November, and I guess I will be adding 1 day to Universal....probably Islands of Adventure. Cool!

I posted this on another thread, but wanted to do it here as well.

You know, after reading the responses on the boards regarding the Super Bowl/Universal ticket giveaway, does it seem to you that people are more excited about this giveaway than Disney's "free bday ticket" promo? Is it because USF ran theirs as a contest and Disney's is a "promotion"? I mean, either way, one person in the party is getting a free ticket and the rest of the party has to buy tickets. I just get a lot more positive vibes regarding USF than Disney. Maybe because people expected more from Disney and they were disappointed? I really think that USF hit the mark with their giveaway by the sounds of it. People are making plans to do USF when they weren't before. People don't sound like they are going to Disney just to get the birthday ticket. Maybe b/c USF has a larger date range to use their free ticket? Just a random thought! Sorry for the rambling!

Agree again. The way that Disney narrows you down to one specific day is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong. We took advantage of it because we have a lot of non expiring days left and are going back in October for her birthday to even them out. Now one of us gets a free 7 day - 2 park pass. BONUS!

They have definately one-upped them by having it valid for any remaining WEEK in the year. People can at least "plan" around this one.

:confused3 Hi All
Congrats to all who have won ...I am NOT one of you! My question comes because if anyone can answer my question I would feel much better about not winning! It is ... someone posted a few posts ago stating that they barely made the deadline and entered on Monday! How can they win a ticket but for those who entered the night before not win. Just confused and yes of course jealous!

Did you check your junk mail or spam box? Are you sure you're checking the email you used to register? If the email did end up in junk mail and has been deleted, you'd still receive the actual confirmation code in the mail, so you may still have won! I agree that from the timing, it sounds like you should have won if someone else didn't enter until Monday and won...

I won. I posted on another thread. I think that I entered sometime Sunday night.

I'm glad for the ticket..........now to plan when to go!!!!

WDW promo is cool, but extremely limiting as far as the time. We have all holiday kids (4th of july, Thksgiving, Christmas and MLK day). we planned our trip around my son's bday and thanksgiving. I really really wanted to do US for a night or two until I realized we need 2 rooms. I registered for the contest and won. I also had my mom register since they will be in Florida with us. She won also. The $200 we will save on the tickets will go toward the room. We still will only be able to do one night onsite, but, with the economy, I am just thankful that we are able to go in the first place.

I don't ever have any luck winning things so it made it even nicer. Good luck to everyone else

oh, and mine was in my spam folder

Here is a link to the Orlando Sentinel story on the give away.

I thought if I won I would use the ticket for a short two day trip in Jan. 10' before our 3 day Disney cruise. I was also going to FL for a very short solo trip this June in which I was thinking of stopping at US for a day or day and 1/2. I was going to purchase a preferred AP prior to the June trip -mainly b/c the AP discount for rooms this past January was very good for 2 night stays (about 41%). I know there is no guarantee on this rate for next year, but it is slow season and I would still expect a fairly good rate. SS rates do not seem to apply to 2 night stays, although the AP rates did apply for this past Jan. (there was also a 20% AAA discount which would have applied this past Jan.). Since the free tickets can not be used after 12/31, I am thinking I should use it myself in June & decide later to purchase the AP for the Jan. 10' trip once the AP rates for January come out - otherwise the free ticket will be wasted.

Thanks for the tip. I checked my junk mail and nothing. Now I will wait for the ground mail. I received the confirmation that I had entered but that is all I received. Oh well ya win some and lose some. I do not remember putting my home address in the entry. My son was typing for me though. Maybe he did and I just cannot remember. I will still hold out a little hope!

I won too!!

I never win anything-- and I didn't enter until Monday morning.

Wow I am really excited!:cool1:
