In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Good Morning!

WW check in from last night, I'm down 2 more pounds:woohoo:
Have been tracking, but need to get better with the water.

Hi Ronda!

Good Morning -

Even though i've been bad with food (tracked, but still kind of on the bad side) the last two days I still managed to drop 2 lbs this week :cool1:

Have to get off to work, i'm exhausted, I was up all night watching the news coverage of that plane crash in Buffalo. Only about an hour from here, and a lot of my family lives in that area, some just mere streets away.... it's eerie that it happened so close, i've flow in/out of that airport tons of times - it's so sad :guilty:

Well, off to work, hope everyone has a great day! At least it's friday!

Morning all!

Sunny, congrats on the loss!

Erika, glad it is not something more serious. The dictation should have made you happy. When I was bodybuilding I had the doc call another doc in to feel my abs...:goodvibes It is a great feeling. Hoping you are back on the road soon!

Paula, yay on benching!! Be proud no matter what the weight was. There is nothing like free weights to teach you all of your inadequacies! Shelby was pushing 100 pounds on the chest press machine but she is down to 70 on the bench. Same happened on the military press for her. It took some explaining but with free weights you get all that balance and coordination coming into play. Keep that core tight and you will be pushing more weight soon!

Nancy, we were headed to UConn for a field hockey tourney that got canceled. We are headed to Providence College instead. Now I am really upset! We could have hooked up! This year it ended up being BC, Providence and UNH along with Colby and UMO of course!

Everyone else, :flower3:

I ended up coming down with some yuck yesterday. Just achy, headache and general blah feeling. I cancelled my trip to the gym with the girls. Shelby has it this morning so they may not make the second trip. I will, of course. David did not have hockey as it was too warm and the ice did not freeze overnight. Hazards of a covered outdoor rink. I was thankful. I stayed wrapped in my little blanket on the couch. I feel better today but not 100%. No whining though, I have to get the miles in today.

So I ended up with 23.18 miles due to sickness. I did weigh myself this morning for kicks and I am down 1 pound so this new eating every 2 hours thing must be working. I am going to definitely stick with it. No measurements until halfway and then I will check them. Check again at the end and do the body fat calculations out. I found out this morning that another of my BFFs is going to join the group in VA Beach in September and I am beyond excited. CMM first though. Got to get through this full marathon!!

Okay, tummy growling, got to go get a snacky! I guess that serves me right for being up at 4:30 and eating at 5 a.m.!!!!! :surfweb:

Good afternoon everyone!

Nancy - 50miles! Awesome :cool1:

Lisa - Sorry you've been sick

Liz - I love the sound of your relationship with your mum - very cool

So last night for dinner I had a Healthy Living chicken and brocolli pie with vegetables. It was very blah. I had to practically cover it in black pepper to get any taste out of it!
I followed it up with some sugar free jelly (0 points on WW). Very nice it was too!

I did 1 hour 15mins on the cross trainer!

Today:
Breakfast - Coco pops and skimmed milk
Snack - WW blueberry bar
Lunch - WW pitta bread with grilled chicken, low fat mayo and a big old pile of salad!

I have also been to the supermarket and walked it home with the shopping bags - about a 20min walk so that was a nice workout!

Ummmm, you know whats not fair. People posting pictures US time while Kelly is asleep UK time, then taking them down before Kelly gets a chance to see them. Just sayin'.
:lmao:

Good Afternoon Kelly! Good Morning Everybody else!

It is my anniversary of sorts today, lol. It's amazing to me how much I have grown mentally, spiritually, emotionally etc since then. I woke up feeling that I can take on the world. It helps that I only work 10-2 today, lol. Positive attitude bubbling over here! I feel like I could hit the ground running.

I have tracked every day this week so far, except for yesterday (just haven't put it in my journal). My downfall again is water ~ gotta get it in there. I have plenty of veggies and protein, but have been slipping a bit with the low carb bread. Need to back off of it a bit ~ it's become a comfort food to me. I haven't had nearly enough exercise either, but I still have the weekend.

Nancy ~ include me on the info!

Now something I just had to share. My horoscopes for today and this week. I read them for a good laugh, but I just had to post this because it really does fit me:

Friday, Feb 13th, 2009 -- Choosing a new direction for your diet and exercise program is often a tricky thing. Today, however, you may be more certain about what you want, yet still find it challenging to make a specific change. All the theories in the world won't help you now, for you probably already know enough. Any direct action you take can lead to improvement in your physical condition, so don't wait for a better time.

Friday might be uncomfortable socially, especially if you're unwilling to make compromises. But Saturday and Sunday sizzle with the sexy Scorpio Moon warming up your 7th House of Partnership. If you're seeking romance, don't hold anything back since the person you are with probably wants all of you or nothing at all.

I will catch ya later after my facial this afternoon. See whenever I take time off for myself, I don't let my family know. I come home at my normal quitting time, so I hang out and do stuff that I want to do, lol. Long story short, I will be adding a dose of steriods to the thread.

Good Morning!

Hi Ronda!

Sunny - Congrats on the loss...

Good Morning -

Well, off to work, hope everyone has a great day! At least it's friday!

Stacey - Congrats on your loss too.... Hang in there with the news from Buffalo. I am thankful that your friends and family are all safe. :goodvibes

Amiee - Sending you good thoughts and good vibes today. You are such a strong person that you have every right to feel proud and confident about how far you have come. I am loving your horoscope comments. Good things definitely lie ahead for you.

LisaPR - feel better and thanks for the comments on my bench presses. I am slowly getting to the point where we really don't use the machines for much. I am definitely liking the free weights now.

Nancy - I am going to be looking to you and Erika for some training advice for my race and then once the weather gets a little nicer, I need to actually buy my bike. So I'll be looking for thoughts on what type to get, etc. I am thinking a hybrid, but I am not sure yet. Oh and please post the fundraising info. I would like to help the cause.

Erika - loving Cammie's pictures. The jellyfish one is very cool.

I am a little stiff this morning and my one knee is just plain bugging me. It is not killer pain, more just sore, but I am not sure what that is about yet. I was wearing crappy shoes at work yesterday so that could be it. Today is a rest day for me so I'll take it easy and keep an eye on it. Hopefully it is nothing that a little rest can't fix.

Back to work for me.

Talk to you all later,
Paula

Good Morning all and Happy Friday!
My weight stayed the same today for the second day in a row. I am not terribly concerned however. I know I am building muscle with the workouts I am doing so its not like I gained. My loss for the week is also 3.2 lbs so I can't be too greedy. I am going to workout when I get home today, not sure what I am going to do yet though because my back is still a bit tender. I may just do Shred and get it over with. LOL! Tomorrow Will and I are going to do a little hike to get back into it. http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=673 and http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=861 are the trails we'll do tomorrow. At least that is the game plan. We will definitely hike the summit trail and possibly do the circumference trail depending on how we feel. I love hiking and I am not looking forward to summer when we will have to drive at least 2 hours to get somewhere cool enough to hike. Hope everyone has a good day!

Checking in for a few minutes today. Had a long qouted post but when I hit submit it went to the hotels home page. So here are some highlights.

Nancy - I am in Duluth. It is northern MN on the shores of Lake Superior. Beautiful place and last night Dan and I walked 2 miles through skyways to have dinner. The best Italian food ever. Great night and we rented Twighlight when we got back. I have to say I liked the book better. Not a bad movie at all but the book was awesome.

Lyz - sorry for posting the Long John pic for your pleasure! :rotfl2: I am at a great point in my life. Thank you for noticing that. I have decided that other peoples choices or stupid life happenings will not change my big picture.

Lisa Z - It is too bad someone decided to steal Carsyn's purse, but like so many here have pointed out, economic problems and job cutbacks are affecting everyone. It is bound to happen that theft will rise in all areas of the country. It may have been a young kid in this case or in your neighborhood but the reality of the feeling of having your privacy invaded or lack of security is not fun no matter who is to blame.

I am sure that your city has many positive aspects too and we just need to focus on those. :thumbsup2

I am enjoying having you here!

Paula - I have not benched anything since HS. I cannot imagine how intimidated I would have been. You are a rock star!

Liz - prayers for you and yours. I am so happy that you can look at your moms illness and it's road as a journey to bring you two together. I hope you are keeping notes on this exprience. With your writing skills, it may be a great way to help tell her story and yours. Whether it is just for you, for Em or for others you may choose to share it with, your experience is unique. I think you have helped many of us look at our lifes journey and who is worth more of our time and who is not. Priorities and choices.

Lisa PR - I hope you start feeling better and am proud of you for pushing through the slumps of the flu/cold and focussing on your health and your better self. I know I need to keep that in my head when I feel like not pushing myself. You are always such a positive person for all of us and I love your advice you give to others.

E - hope your leg feels better each day and I will weigh in when I get back home - but I am on for excersize and tracking for our challenge.

Kelly - You are right. That isn't fair. I'd post it again if I wasn't concerned about EriKa. She's on drugs right now. And can't get off. I don't want to set her off.

EriKa - the pics. Awesome. Where did Cam take them? She is you. Kelly looks more like you, but Cammie IS you. Overachiever. Decisive.

Saturday and Sunday sizzle with the sexy Scorpio Moon warming up your 7th House of Partnership. If you're seeking romance, don't hold anything back since the person you are with probably wants all of you or nothing at all.

Hmmmm. Guess we all know what this means. :bitelip:

Great night and we rented Twighlight when we got back. I have to say I liked the book better. Not a bad movie at all but the book was awesome.

Dawn - I had a ton of issues with the movie. It SO did not do the book justice. Which is too bad, cause I think it could have. In talking with Liz and Amy (Resident Twilight Junkies) I think it was the director. She sounds like a loon, but thankfully, she won't be directing New Moon.

That's awsome Nancy. Please post the donation information for me.

I most definitely will as soon as I get everything together.

This stupid schedule is almost done! This time next week I will be getting 8 hours of consecutive sleep. :yay: :woohoo:

:yay: YAY for sleep!

WW check in from last night, I'm down 2 more pounds:woohoo:

Nancy, we were headed to UConn for a field hockey tourney that got canceled.

Too bad :sad2: Maybe another time. :upsidedow

I'd be glad to talk bikes when you get ready to start your search

hmm. Be careful - just be generally *aware* of what it's up to, k? We don't need any more injuries around here for a while

My loss for the week is also 3.2 lbs so I can't be too greedy.

Nice job! Enjoy your hiking - sounds like fun!

Ahh...can't wait for "hiking weather". Right now we're still in "everything is icy" mode :scared:

Wonky computers. They make me crazy

Nancy - I am in Duluth. It is northern MN on the shores of Lake Superior.

Enjoy your time away! And great job on the tracking :thumbsup2

Erika - Great pics!

Kelly - HI!!!

LisaV - Hi to you too!! my neighbor to the North

STEPH! Where are you? Miss you!

Off to work for me. Have to make Tiramisu. And CANDY. Stupid Valentines Day :rotfl:

I don't think I could have your job and lose weight... LOL!

Hey all!

Back from PT and I only swore a little bit! And not even one F-bomb! :rotfl2: Good news is that I am cleared to either bike or swim. I can do ONE each day (not both in the same day yet) and still no running, of course. And I can do upper body strength to my heart's content. So I will be hitting the pool later today, I think.

CHALLENGE! Post those results, please! Sunny, Stacey, Lisa, and Sarah--Way to go on the losses! WOO HOO! Everyone else, check in when you can and I will post the chart later in the day.

Cleaning lady is here! :worship:

Oh and Lyz--no, Cammie is not me. I wish I was her, though! She is very quiet and introspective. And very grounded. Calm all the time. People are really drawn to here. Her teachers call her a silent leader. Plus, she is super crafty. Well, maybe crafty isn't the right word. Creative? Artistic? She has that creative eye and vision that I just do not have. Seriously, she is often MY role model. Personality-wise, yeah and it me and Kel. She is our wild child!

Ok, back to work.

hmm. Be careful - just be generally *aware* of what it's up to, k? We don't need any more injuries around here for a while Off to work for me. Have to make Tiramisu. And CANDY. Stupid Valentines Day :rotfl:

I don't think I could have your job and lose weight... LOL!

Sarah - I'm with you. There is no way I could bake for a living and lose weight. Although, I'm sure after a while none of it looks appetizing anymore since it is work.

Nancy - I'll keep an eye on things. I suspect that my work shoes need to be replaced and the supports in them are shot. I am off to look for a new pair tonight to see if that helps. We'll see though. I am not training tomorrow since I will be out of town. I was planning on a cardio workout on the hotel's bike tomorrow night, but I promise not to push myself.

I need to start looking around at bikes to see what is available, but I have no idea what to look for. It is time to start arming myself with info. I was going to head for one of the local, family owned and long time reputable bike shops and see what they could teach me and then go from there. I don't need or want to spend a fortune since I am just starting, but I don't want a cheaply made bike from wallyworld either. I just need to figure out what the middle ground is.

Ugh - so don't feel like working today. Is it too late to just go home and crawl back into bed?

Challenge update:

Strength training sessions - 3
Cardio sessions - 2
Weight lost - 1.5 pounds

This weekend is my first of many weekends away for Odyssey of the Mind. I am bringing my own food for breakfasts, lunches and snacks and will be purchasing dinner. Need to order smartly and track to stay on plan (one of my goals).

Oh - am starting to gear up mentally to begin officially transitioning off of Jenny Craig food. I think I am going to start that process in early April after the bulk of the Odyssey trips are done and I can focus and actually plan my home cooked meals. I don't want to have to throw restaurant / take out food into the mix at the same time as I think it will be too much to deal with.

OK - I am forcing myself to go back to work now...

Glad that you said that. Not sure if I was crazy in not liking it as well. Bella alos reminded me a bit of Lindsay Lohan for some reason and it was driving me nuts.

Food for yesterday -

Lunch - 1/2 cheese burger on ciabatta bun - 5 points
Fruit (2 slices of pineapple, 3/4 of an orange, 2 slices each of cannelope and honeydew mellon) 0 points

Dinner -

There is no nutrition info for most so I posted what I could find that came close...

An Italian bread so good it should be named after a car mechanical fix - 10 points

Tuscan salad:
Descripton was:
A fresh blend of tomato, cucumber, red pepper, romaine lettuce, red onion, capers, Italian parsley, fresh basil, toasted pine nuts, plumped curants and herb roasted croutons tossed with a citrus vinaigrette. Topped with imported Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. No clue on points - split with Dan and I had 1/4 of the salad - brought the rest home.

Then we ordered a pasta dish which was Riggatoni and sausage in a cream sauce with a hint of bacon and peas. Could not find the description of this.
No clue on points either - Dan and I split this also and we each only ate 1/4 of the plate and brought the rest home.

Fudge - 4 points

Although I am not sure of points - I feel really good. We ordered to share and only ate 1/2 of the salad and pasta between us.

I think if we do the Italian themed wedding in WDW - our reception back here would be catered by this restaurant.

Plus - we walked to the restraunt and back and that was great. Not exactly the BL 5 mile each way Subway run, but 2 miles round trip.

k - off to work on taxes while Dan works today.:surfweb:

Hi popping to do points - Dawn, I'd say 2-3 for the salad, depending on portion size. 10-12 on the pasta, depending on your portion - the whole thing could easily be 20 pts. Bread, why 10? It's only 2pts a piece!

Okay, off to exercise.

Hi to all and will reply later.

Low carb bread? Tell me more...

Hopefully it is

Hope that your knee feels better. I find that I am a little stiff most days lately, probably as I ramp up my workouts. I think it's normal.

Just wait until MOnday, I already warned my boss I will need a crane to get out of my chair!!

Off to work for me. Have to make Tiramisu. And CANDY. Stupid Valentines Day :rotfl: [/B][/COLOR]

Nancy, I am continually amazed that you can do your job and stay on plan!! For me and this no sugar thing I think I would die on the spot.

Okay, challenge checkin:
1) 1200-1500 cals. Check, was at or under 1200 every day, and at or under 20g carbs and most/all of that was from plant fiber or cheese/eggs.
2) Exercise. Mon/Thurs/Fri/Sat hockey, Tue kickboxing. 5/5 and probably about 250-300 min total. Check
3) Water. At or over 64 oz every day. Check
4) Alcohol, none. :headache: Check

And, I weighed in this morning (although Sun is the official week), and was down another 3.2 lbs. So that is down almost 8 lbs in less than two weeks! I guess this is working.

Liz - as you can see I meant Lyz on that post. Whoops on confusion. She wants to see the US Hockey in Vancouver and I was questioning putting herself through another loss. :lmao: Mukluks - we're back to mukluks Cutie? That's the best you got?

Liz - that is a really lovely about your Mom. To see some a lovely part of a draining whole. It's the truth. Most do not get the chance to ever be "real".

I have that with my parents. And I am thankful. My siblings don't. And I am sad for them. Truly. I have it because I had to work through a lot with them. Chose to. And with my mother's decline I am thankful for every moment left. I actually am "happy" to have one of them pass away because I don't want them to experience it together.

I am going to Vero Beach soon. And I'm trying to get them a few days with no avail. They will come and be in our inn room if not. We got them AKV Savannah view last March Break. They were like teenagers with that room. My father was always talking and yelling at his giraffes. Yelling cause THEY chose not to visit HIM every day. :rotfl: When we got there my mom ran over to show me her check off sheet and how many animals she had seen already. We had a very busy and very rushed - just not a vacation. We had our other family - Jean's family visiting too. But wouldn't take it back for anything despite feeling overstimulated. Never. And this year if I can nab anything - even a Beach Cottage for two -last minute cancellation ( DVC guys I have gotten some real gems at the open season under seven days) I will use all my 2010 points to do this. Two days of Beach Cottage will take the rest of my points - too funny. You can't get time back. So important.

Erika - thank you so much with your sweet words to me. Thank you. Are you really 40? I'm confused.

Cammie - I smiled. So lovely. So talented. Photography was everything to me once upon a time. Sighing. I left it somewhere. Sucks. Must pick it back up. Pompous of me but I loved that I caught her talent not even knowing about her talent or that she took your race pics.

Where's Roddy?

Stacey - Stacey I didn't know there was a crash in Buffalo. What happened? That's sad. Fatal?

Congrats on your loss.

Where is Steph? Steph miss you.

Nancy - a race!!!!! 50 miles I'm so pumped. Good for you. Oh and to mention college ball. Jean LIVES for March Madness.

I'm fine. It goes for a couple of hours - that's it. It was a lovely moment to think that I can not have all this. That's a good thing. I forgot it's been so long.

Sarah - do you weigh yourself every day? Why? Congrats on your loss. No, you shouldn't be yapping on a 3.2 week.

Ronda - glad I made you laugh on the jock question. Watch out though - Erika is always recruiting.

Erika - pretty good news with the PT and docs, eh? Nice on their write up. Loved that. Still frustrating I'm sure to have limitations. But good news.

Lyz - so sorry I missed the Erika pic.

Lisa - congrats on your loss as well.

Hi to everyone.

Hi to everyone.

If you come to Vero Beach and are driving, let me know! At the very least I can come over to I-95 (it's maybe 40 min) and meet you and Jean for coffee or something.

Roddy works 10 hour days 4 days a week and is off Fri-Sun, so I think you will see more of him on weekends. :)
