Having camera/computer issues this morning.

What do you guys use to get your photos from card to the computer. As in what program? I used to use kodak, came with the camera or can be downloaded for free. Well, they upgraded, which just made it horrible and slow and I can't stand it. So I went to HP but it is suddenly being wonky since I have been back. I can't edit the photos. This morning it won't even transfer them. It usually doesn't give me an option of which I want to transfer but it knows what it has already transferred and doesn't do those ones. Today, it was trying to do them all. It gets to the last picture every time and then something happens and it won't transfer any!

So, thoughts! Anyone? I am at a loss.

Thanks Minnie2. Oh, and here is the pic full size. Sorry about the bad quality, I think it was too dark in the room. I love her end of the day, saggy pigtails! I had to re-upload the pic again. Now it should be good :)

Oh, Jessica. I don't know how much help I am going to be but I just save the pics to a file in my computer. It pops up as an option when I insert a memory card. I don't use a program. If I want to edit and crop them, I use infranview (a free download) or photobucket. I hope that helped a little. :confused3

WOW< sorry, that really is a horrible picture!!! I am saving for the Nikon d40! I am counting the days.........

I think this is the longest multi quote I've ever had!!
Great job!! Soon you'll be an obnoxious multi-quoter, like myself! ;)

I finally got around to uploading pics of the journal for the McIntosh give. I posted the pics on the Big Give board, there are 21 pics so i didn't want to take up that much space here. I just kept getting ideas for pages so I was worried she was going to get a "War and Peace" sized book if I didn't stop. I do like the way it turned out and will be making another one for a give.

Thanks for letting me be a part of the gives (even though I am afraid of a sewing machine) I feel I get so much out of doing it!

Tracie
Thanks so much for helping out with the Gives, Tracie! I can't wait to go look at the pictures! It's probably fancier than the autograph books I made them!

We need bigger pictures!! From what I can see they both look terrific! I've never thought of using the flannel backed satin for a skirt. It looks like it's really cute! It's nicer to work with than regular satin, too.

What kind of dog do you have? It looks like a cutie!

This morning it was pouring, I drove the kids to the bus stop and was met by a Ambulance, Fire truck, and 3 police cars, The headed down to the Circle in our Subdivision. Tyler came home today and told us a 13 year old boy was hit by a car. We have been fighting with the Bus dept and superintendent since the beggininng of the year about this, The Kids walk down the middle of the road and dont move out of the way.
Here is the Newspaper article.

That's pretty bad! It's a good thing he wasn't seriously injured! I see kids walking down the middle of the street all of the time anymore, especially in subdivisions and in town. I just don't get it! They also don't move out of the way when a car is coming.

I posted this dress the other night but when my DH came home from work he said it was cute but it looked like a pillowcase so I changed it. I like pillowcase dresses but this one wasn't supposed to actually look like one

And her Tinkerbell outfit I made today:
th_000_0019.jpg

Everyone here does fabulous work and I love looking at everyone's stuff. I only go to Disney once a year and I don't sell my stuff so that's why I don't post in this section very often. I think I posted a few times last spring. I love sewing even though I'm not an expert:banana:
The first rule of sewing- never listen to your DH! :rotfl: The dress looks really cute now, but it also looked really cute before (and did NOT look like a pillowcase!)!

I love the Tinkerbell outfit, so cute!

I generally don't go to Disney every year (this last year has been an exception) and I don't sell my items, either. So, feel free to post anything you have made, not just Disney or clothing items!

Another reminder to count our blessings!

Jakob has been admitted to the hospital from the DMBFan give. She has posted on her TR and her caring bridge site about it. Hopefully it will be nothing major. Poor fellow has been in the hospital so much this past month!

Thanks for letting us know, Jessica. That poor little guy!

I'm not much help. But, I just plug my camera into the computer and a program just pops up asking if I want to view the files. I then copy and paste them into a folder.

I just love the butterick pattern that I used for dragon shirt and then these shorts. It was too easy, and comes from me.

Here he is with his fish outfit. I believe the problem is that the fabric is dark blue and the shirt is mostly light blue?
Hunterinfishoutfit.jpg
I think it looks great together.
Here are a few pictures of some customs I don't think I posted before our trip. The 7 Dwarfs skirt took FOREVER to make! :rotfl: Let's just say as she grows, it will be getting ruffles.

Luke's bowling shirt. He really would not hold still at all for photos this day!

The girls' Cinderella outfits: (Lily's is a CASE of one Stacy made for Kristine's Aisling) It has Suzy, Perla, Jaq, Gus and the birdie embroidered on 5 of the squares.

Jayden's Valentine's Day outfit, I CASE'd the minnie dot capris from Cathy:

I think that's it. I will get a TR going when I get photopass photos back.
Wow you put a lot of work into those outfits. Everything is so cute!
Forgot one of the boys' although I did make this shirt before for Drew's Big Give:

DSCN4120-1.jpg
These turned out really well! Your boys are cute. I am happy to see older boys who still like appliqued shirts!
Hello everyone! I thought I would stay out of the talk this afternoon once it got out of the ironing and on to the clothing. :rotfl: I respect everyones opinions and I completely understand and can relate to what everyone was saying.

jham- I LOVE the outfits!! Too cute!! The Snow White one was totally worth all of the time you spent on it!

Oh, and the Hungy Caterpiller and fairy tale outfits were just great!! and there was sooooo much more!!! I guess we have all been sewing like crazy. I know in New York you get tired of the winter and look for things to do to get your mind off of it!

Here is what I have been working on. I was starting The Minnie dresses and my machine took a poop :lmao: . So, I ordered a new one and three days later my machine is working again!!! It never fails....anyway, I finally got the Minnie's done! I just wanted to do them simple, so they look like Minnie. I have to make some capris to go with them next.

(My dog had to be in the picture ;) ) I apologize for the horrible pic, I just can't get this camera right:

100_0612-1.jpg

and I finally made my first flouncy. My D5 LOVED it. Somehow I shrunk the pic, but it's Hannah Montana flannel backed satin. No, I did not make the shirt but I am working on a matching top......My D5 told me she HAD to have one!

100_0610.jpg
Aww great job! The flouncy skirt is so cute. I have one cut out I need to finish.
Cute!!

Wow. There was a boy in our neighborhood who walked down the middle of the road and wouldn't move. But his family moved. The weather here was horrible last night wasn't it!

Sorry about the camera problems. It sounds frustrating. I wish I could help but I have a Mac and I use iPhoto. Very easy but I doubt you want to buy a new PC

Thank you! He is a shih tsu. The greatest little guy in the world with the cutest and funniest looking fave ever. We also have a shorkie (a shih tsu/yorkie) you kind of see her head in the flouncy picture. She is blond. She has more of a yorkie face and is too cute too. And despite what people say about small dogs and children. I have 3 kids and both of my dogs are under 13 pounds and they all get along great. My advice would be to get them as puppies so they grow up together.

The flannel backed satin worked great. My daughter likes flashy and twirly things and it flows nicely. I am working on a top now using the same fabric. I don't know how well that's gonna go. I don't want it to look like pajamas!

I think they are both Southern Things. But I do remember having a couple smocked dresses I wore to Kindergarten. We have a Strausburg Kids store here in our mall (I live on the west side of Atlanta, GA) and I know of at least one other location near me. There is also a smocking store in Vinings, GA (closer into Atlanta) I would like to learn someday but I think my daughter is alittle old to wear it now. Maybe if we have another little one. I couldn't afford to buy the stuff in the stores though.

I work with a lady who used to Iron for a living. They paid her $15 an hour she ironed all their clothes including jeans and t shirts. She said she really liked doing it. My Husband's aunt has a lady who comes to her house and does her ironing too.

But, I only iron dress clothes for Church on Sunday or things I am sewing.
My daughter wore her softball uniform to a birthday party a couple weeks ago too. She had practice right afterwords and I just didn't think the party was the kind where she should dress up. If it was a "tea Party" theme I would have made her wear a dress but she may not have wanted to go if she had to wear a dress. Usually I let her wear pants for special occasions. For Christmas she wore some really nice velvet pants from Gymboree.

Okay, one last attempt and then I really need to go get some work done.....

100_0614.jpg

This camera really does stink....I thought Kodak easy shares had a high rating? I must be doing something wrong.....

I got a glimpse of the shorkie in the bigger picture. They both look so cute! I love small dogs! We have 2 schnauzers who are around 15lbs/each. Josie is great with the kids and Pierre is.... not so much. We've had Josie since she was a puppy, but we got Pierre when he was 7 years old (and had been in 5 homes already). Pierre has made a lot of progress and hasn't even growled in quite some time. But, there was a time when we first got him that I was going to get rid of him.

I don't think it's the size of the dog that matters, it's the temperament. I was bit by 2 big dogs as a kid and Tessa was bit by a big dog when she was 3.

I leave at 3:30 Friday morning and NOT ONE THING IS PACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

My house looks like a tornado went throught it, and I have one custom missing!:confused3

Looks like an all nighter for me!:sad2:
I am right there with you. My family room has a loveseat covered in fabric and finished clothes. It will all come together. I clean my house really good before I leave so when I come home the house is perfect and 1 less thing to worry about.

Thanks for the comments on my stuff. It is so nice to hear what you all think. I am glad you like the simplicity of the Minnie dresses. That is exactly what I was going for. I want them to stand next to minnie and look like her. Although, I will get to work on some more complex ones soon. I have lots of different color polka dots waiting to come together! :rotfl:

Love the cute dresses and your daughter is adorable. I do like that Butterick pattern. I didn't understand the crotch but once I got it right it was so easy.

Jessica, I will ask DH who is an IT guy when I speak to him at lunch. I just put the card in the slot on the PCU and kodak takes the pictures automatically. It is a clucky program. If it doesn't get the photos, click on add photos, then computer, then the slot with the card, then select a folder for your photos and it will transfer everything off the card to the hd. Select transfer all to get all the photos but you will have rename the duplicates and it should prompt you to do that.

Thanks Minnie2. Oh, and here is the pic full size. Sorry about the bad quality, I think it was too dark in the room. I love her end of the day, saggy pigtails! I had to re-upload the pic again. Now it should be good :)

I also use photoshop CS2 for edit but it is complex!

Finally, it is shower and tan. I have been Wii Fit every other night to build up my cardio and legs. Let's face it, sitting at the machine does nothing for my legs or backside. I did gain 2 lbs this week. I have less than two weeks to try to get in bit better shape.

I am also working on the autism shirts today, but don't have a colourful one for Hunter.

Now don't jump to part 12 until I get back.:)

That skirt is cute. Thank you for the bigger picture. I was having a hard time seeing the little one.:thumbsup2

It is good to hear that Pierre is improving. I was afraid that he was gonna find a new home.

VERY CUTE! Yeah the saggy pony tails are great! Nikki's get like that right away because he hair is so smooth. Bows never stay in!

Would that mall be Discover mills Mall???
I meant to comment on the Straugsburg stuff and Mocking stuff! I Adore it! When I was a baby ( in NJ ) my mom used to put me in that kind of stuff a lot! She Ironed alot and still does so I guess she fits really well living in GA now! ;) Anyway Nikki had a gorgeous smocked christening dress OMG I loved it! i found it at Nordstrums and I felt so bad about the cost even though my sil bought it I was just in love ad I figured I would surely have a girl again so I would get to use it again! Well then came Kyle and well though he has cute legs i don't think a fancy smocked dress would look right! :rotfl: come to think of it Nikki used to have a few smocked things as a baby. I LOVE it! Just can't afford it and besides she is 9 now and far to old for it!

Sorry about you and Tessa getting bit by big dogs! Scary! I will say I so agree that it is the dogs temperament NOT the size. Though I do understand how a big dog could be scary especially to some one who has been bit. We are big dog people as you all ahve seen. I always said my Rocky would have een the PERFECT dog to help some one who was scared of big dog get past their fear. He was just the most gentle dog i the world. though he LOVED to give big ol puppy kisses ad a 100lb dog kissing you could be a it much!:crazy2: Then you have my Daisy though very sweet se is just a bull in a china shop! She wouldn't urt a fly intentionally but she has NO clue se is as big as she is! I think partly because she was so tiny compared to her siblings. she was 12lbs lighter then the next smallest one when we got her at 9 weeks. She had to push all the other dogs to get any food. So we carried her everywhere and she sat on our laps for months as she grew. Now she thinks she can still do that!

sorry to bore you with the puppy stuff what can I say they are other kids!

Your Daisy sounds like my Tinkerbell. She was the smallest out of 9 puppies and she was the only girl. We held her like a baby when she was little. Now she is big and she still wants to do that. :lmao:It's not pretty! She is not near as big as Daisy, but she is still too big to be a lap dog. Tinkerbell wouldn't bite anyone, but she will bark until I tell her to lay down. I am the only one that can get her to stop barking.

Not Discover Mills but Arbor Place Mall we leave very close to there. Also, there is a location at The Avenue at West Cobb. So if you are looking for some smocked dresses Metro Atlanta is the place to visit! My Sister-in-Law got her daughter's christening dresses there. They are just beautiful heirloom dresses.

My Daughter Abby is going to have her First Communion this spring. Maybe I should see how much their dresses are? I think I will sew her dress. I could just go window shopping for inspiration!

Ok you are over in Cobb we where in Gwinnett and y mom is still there so we tend to do our shopping over there though my mom has been known to travel for a good deal!!!!! :lmao:

that is funny you know how Daisy and Tink can be so sassy! I guess their names fit them! Daisy barks ir whines if some one is in HER spot on the couch! Especially if George is sitting there that is her man after all! Aren't dogs funny creatures?
