My little girl is going to be nameless!

when we were expecting our dd we had a name picked out from the very beginning. then 2 weeks before she was born we both panicked and hated the name! ugh!!! i sat down and went through the baby name book and read anything that i liked to him. i kept going through all the A's and the B's but he didn't like anything that i liked.. finally came to the C's (and beginning to really stress that we wouldn't find anything) and read the name Cora. he liked it, i closed the book and that was the end of it. :) we agreed then and there that we wouldn't give it any more thought - we both liked it and didn't have time to fight over it any longer. we still love the name and constantly receive compliments on it! :)

We had such a hard time picking out girls names! Our boys names were set shortly after I found out I was pregnant.

Our DD is Emmeline May. In retrospect I wish we had spelled it "Emiline" or "Emaline". We just didn't think that one through enough.

Other finalists for us were:
Beatrice (I loved, DH hated)
Stella
Anna
Norah
Clara
Dorothy

I like old fashioned names if you couldn't tell :)

Congrats!!!!

I work at a school, so here are a few names that I like:

Tatum
Jaelyn
Anika
Rachael
Caroline
Noelle

Lindsey Rose (my daughter)

I don't really love these names, but 3 sisters at my school are named
HEAVEN, HOPE and BLESSING.

I'd go with Natalie as thats my name :thumbsup2.

My DD is called Ebony Louise. We couldn't decide over Ebony or Carys or Cerys but went with Ebony.

Other names I like are

Alyth
Aspen
Kayleigh
Isla

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Our daughters are named:
Mia Isabella
Caitlyn Rose
Nina Juliana

Our fourth was a boy (Max Xavier) but if he was a girl he would have been Ava Emmalie.

We went with names from out generation, Suzanne Marie and Deborah Ann, because when I was in 8th grade I had 7 other girls that were named Michele (or Michelle) in a class of 30. I love some of the popular names, Kayla/Kaylee was big when my girls were born 5 years ago and I love them, but I didn't want my girls to go through that. We get compliments on using names from our generation all the time.

Also, be careful sharing names with family. My youngest was going to be Maxwell David until my mother-in-law got to my husband and convinced him that he didn't like it. Instead we went with Nathaniel David and call him Nate but I do sometimes wish we had gone with Max. Also, my girls middle name and Nate's middle name are their grandparents middle name. My other boy, John William, has his paternal grandfather's first name and fathers first name as his middle, so they all have a part of their grandparents. Just a thing we did. Of course having 4 made that do able and also locked us in with our youngest to have David as the middle name.

Good luck!

I tried to pick names that were common, but not the most common. My daughter is Reagan Claire. My short list included also:

Emma
Emily
Carly

Good luck!

My oldest DD is turning 6 this Saturday and her name is Maya Renee - there's lots of different spellings. There were actually 3 other "Maya's" born at the hospital that same day so it must be the up and coming name . Some of the other spellings are Mia (like you mentioned), Myah and Mya. Mia is more like
Mee-ah so not sure which name you were shooting for.

My youngest DD is Alyson - we call her "Aly".

Here's some other favorites:

Maegan or Maggie
Molly
Natalie
Ellie or Ellah is getting VERY popular now, too. I think I know about 6 Ellie / Ellah's. Some of the names are just Ellah or Ellie and others are short for Elizabeth.

I am due on 4 months and while that seems far away, it is coming so fast. We have no name picked out for this little one and we cannot agree on one. Can anyone throw out any ideas?

Here is what we have so far:

Kendall (which I love the name but just does not sound "right" to me)
Avery (Which I love but my husband says he knows a guy named Avery so that is out for him)
Peyton (which makes me think of Peyton Manning)
Natalie Marie (Marie being middle name)
Mia

Please throw out some names for me!

Kristine

Kylie marie
Emery ( my DH cousin named her DD this)
Bella
It is hard without the last name, it has to flow. Good luck.
We did not name our DD until the day after she was born. We had 2 names and I wanted to wait until we saw her.:cloud9:

Our daughters are:

Emily Marie
Avery Brynn

Other names I like are:

Tavia
Melanie
Lyndsey
Leah
Bethany
Kameron (but DH has a niece with this name)
Skylar (but I have a cousin named this and he is a guy so has seemed more boyish to me)
Molly
Cady
Caitlin
Jillian
Juliana/Julie

Just my 2 cents - I am not judging. I'm a nurse, and a lot of patients I take care of with unusual first names usually go by their middle name. 90% of them tell me that they wish they had either more traditional names or at least had their named spelled the "usual" way. They also wished that if they had been given an unusual first name, that they would have been given a traditional middle name. They find it annoying to constantly spell their names. I've had a Trinity Elaine (went by Elaine). KayteLinn (she legally changed it to Kay). Gainesbirger (why???) Aloutte (called herself Gracie). Diyanna (was in the process of changing it to Diana). And, and I had to laugh, Deeeena (why the four "e"s??). She said her mother wanted to pronounce it De-a-eena. She said it was torture. And, yep, I've had female patients named "Whiskey", "Drisdale" "Kroach" "Keester" (how horrible) "Rake" and - all one name mind you "Viviansarahbeth." Take that apart and it's pretty, but with Antoinette as her middle name, you can't fit your full name anywhere. I think of little children learning to write their names. That's a tough one to remember.

We had two boys, Nicholas and Christopher. If they were girls, we were doing the traditional route:

Allison Rose or Kristina Lee
I love Danielle or Daniella - Dani is just too cute for a girl. I love Julia, Amanda, Kayla, and Jessica.

And, to the vet - we adopted a dog who was already named "Phoebe." I love it!

I had a patient...and I kid you not on this one...Named her daughter.....Ghana Rhea. :scared1: We all kept trying to tell her that Ghana rhea is too close to Gonnorrhea and her daughter would be brutalized because of it.She would not listen. I felt so bad for that girl.

Your son has such a nice, strong traditional name, that out of your choices, only Natalie and Mia, really seem to go with it. I will mention that Avery is a boys name, and Kendall and Peyton sound masculine to me. I am not fond of the trend of giving girls boys names.

I have to agree with the previous poster about creative spellings. You don't want your daughter to go through life spelling her name or having her name mispronounced, or misspelled. I think it is probably better to spell names in the traditional manner.

The other thing to think about is that your daughter will have this name the rest of her life. It may be cute when she is 3 but will it suit a 40 year old business woman or a mom of 3, or a grandmother?

I am not fond of trendy names. After a while they just feel dated.

....and I agree with checking the social security top 100. You don't want your child to spend her entire school career being called "Ava T." (or whatever the 1st initial of your last name is) I am a child of the 70's there were 12 "Jennifer's" in my graduating class of 100!

...and consider the possible nicknames. Because whether you like it or not someone is going to call your child by the common nickname. Like a pp said, Samantha is going to be "Sam" and Alexandra is going o be "Alex."

my daughters name is:
Olivia Grace

but also considered:
Maggie
Kennice
McKenna
Morgan
Madison
Chloe

Good Luck! We always had a name picked out and then when they were born we changed it. Guess I just had to see the baby to pick the right name. With all three it worked out like that!:rotfl:

OMG - that is HORRIBLE! Poor kid!

My sister is a principal of an inner city school so she has some great names at her school. She actually had a little boy who was named Cash Money.:scared1:

I agree with you, I think that so far, Natalie Marie is the best of the bunch. It just sounds nice and sounds really nice with our last name. Also, it is a name that a little girl can have but also an adult woman.
