In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

I take a multi and calcium with vitamin D (to help it absorb) bc I hate milk. And I don't get enough cheese on plan. But that's just me. If your diet is good, you shouldn't need vitamins. I'm realistic. :lmao:

My diet is not good and I don't drink milk unless its with cookies
How mush calcium do you need to take?

About a year or so ago I did some research, none of which I have here, but it's all on one of our many threads! Vol 3 or 4 probably. But here's what I take, based on what I read:

Target brand women's multi
Target brand calcium chews with vitamin d.

I get 95% of my recommended calcium that way, as well as the Vitamin D. I went to several stores - vitamin, health (like Whole Food, etc) and drug stores, and found those brands to have everything I needed and at a lower cost.

I'd bet you in another month a women's mag will have an article on vitamins. They always do! Or google it. man, we really should have a link with all our old threads on it. We have seriously good info on those!

I use the walmart brand multi.
I have to go to target this weekend I will pick up the calcium, The girls here at work were talking about it also.

It's tasty, too! They make a good pre-dinner "snack".

I am sure the brand you have is exactly like mine!

I don't take any vitamins, but my diet is very healthy. I just eat too much of it! (Otherwise I would be on the "naturally skinny thread" with those biatches, right? OMG, hate the naturally skinnies! :lmao: )

I may, however, start taking a calcium supplement just because I am "that age" and there is no f'ing way I am getting osteo when I am older.

And never under-estimate Vitamin D! Super important. I get mine from the sun (year round) just by running outside and being outside a lot. But if you are indoors a lot, then you really might want to consider a D supplement. One of the BEST ways to prevent cancer, making sure you get enough Vitamin D!

Heart health--I can't help with that as (thankfully) it isn't an issue for anyone in my family so I am not up on what to do there. Though Jeff's side has plenty of history, so who knows, I may have to learn what his needs are someday if he inherited those genes. Fortunately, he is the healthiest freaking person on the planet.

I use the Walmart brand multi too... very likely same as Target, as Liz said. I am going to look for the calcium chews the next time I am there, as I am sure I don't get enough.

The one thing I did get from the personal trainer advertisement fail of yesterday was that you shouldn't take your calcium and your multi together. Something about one causing absorption issues with the other... she also said you should look for a multi with lower calcium and then take the multi at one point in the day and the calcium at the other, and to never take a multi within an hour of drinking milk.

I have also heard that multi + caffeine causes absorption issues.

Ronda, I am sure you have left already but HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! :yay:

Nothing yet Lisa, but enjoying the thrill of the hunt.

 that Amiee. Really love it that you're enjoying. No one deserves love like you. I know you have a wonderful life right now but know I will smile broadly the day that you meet that someone. I think that all the time Amiee - just don't say it. Sometimes I smile about you and your strength.

I can't tell you how incredibly envious I am of your statement though.

One day I will love the thrill of the hunt. One day I will love the thrill of the hunt. One day.....

Oh good Lord, she's finally lost it completely. She's referring to herself in the third person! I mean, we knew she was on her way, but really! Didn't think she'd go completely bonkers so soon! :lmao:

Ok people, it is a new day and I need your goals for TODAY. And since we are in different time zones, I am going to start asking (demanding) that we post our daily goals the night before. SO tonight (Thursday) before you logoff for the night, think about what your day looks like tomorrow and make a plan for it. Set your goals. And then post them.

!

Well I may have crazy locked up but boy you take demanding in a complete and utter landslide.

YES. I have major stuff on that. Let me type it out. Gen is awesome. I'll hook you up with pics!

Oh a Sweet Baby Update! Can't wait!

Lisa - I think you can, I think you can. Got it? Good!

Cutie - if you don't get your a$$ back here soon I'm coming to Ohio. Don't think I'm kidding. I'll even cook dinner for ALL. :rotfl: :rotfl2: Oh the thought of it. I'll think I'll start planning my menu. :goodvibes

Don't mind me I'm entertaining myself. Sighing - if I don't fall asleep on the I-90 from Buffalo to Erie to over there that is - boy that's a killer. :lmao: It's about on par with Detroit to Toronto (sighing for you Erika :surfweb: - but Lord knows I wouldn't know a darn thing about that trip -popcorn:: )

Kat - thank you so much. So incredibly sweet of you.

I will try to figure everything out. I would hate to miss it.

Holy buzzed post ahead. If it doesn't make sense, it's not my fault. Blame it on the Alcohol (cue Jamie Foxx....) Jury Duty. That's all I'm sayin' right now.

HAHA on the Waller!

Yes. That is hilarious. Love that kid.

It is actually a barn, or looks like one on the outside anyhow. Locally owned and operated, and they have a 1.5 million dollar wine cellar with over 30,000 bottles of wine. We toured it, met the owner, and the head chef (who beat Cat Cora on Iron Chef America). Very nice place.

Did someone say "wine cellar"? :lmao: Very nice indeed.

I use to be in shape, then well life got in the way.

Yep. Life has a way of doing that. :headache: Glad to hear that dad's feeling better. One thing that you really must remember though, is it is really o.k. to put yourself first sometimes. :flower3:

ugh. I know that my ob/gyn is going to give me a whole lotta crap when I see her next month for not taking my calcium. Honestly. the only time that I've ever been able to deal with taking a daily "med" of any kind was when I was on the pill. Now? I just never remember.

I don't take any vitamins, but my diet is very healthy. I just eat too much of it! (Otherwise I would be on the "naturally skinny thread" with those biatches, right? OMG, hate the naturally skinnies! :lmao: )

:lmao: yes! That's it exactly! Soda? nope. Fast food? maybe twice a year. Fresh baked whole grain bread? Eat the whole loaf. I don't make BAD choices, I just make too many. (apparently I need remedial counting lessons :rolleyes1)

Well I may have crazy locked up but boy you take demanding in a complete and utter landslide.

:lmao: :lmao::lmao: ok. not fair. I just about spewed my wine. (#3 if anyone is counting. Which I'm not. Because as stated above, I need remedial counting lessons)

So this means you might join us in March????

yes, Lisa :yay: PLEASE!

I'm having an 'on' day.

Calories: 978 (snack in about an hour)

Water/Powerade Zero at work - 48
