Tokyo Disney on 2 Weeks’ Notice: Hightower Halloween Costume!

Thanks again for a wonderful trip report. Maybe you can squeeze me into your suitcase when you go back in April:laughing:

And that's it! I am so glad we were finally "forced" to go to Tokyo instead of keeping it a far-off, someday dream. I really hope that I've been able to make a trip to Japan seem slightly more accessible to US Disney fans (I just wish I could make it cheaper too! :teeth: ).

Lurkyloo, you are the best! I love the comments, esp. the foodie comments!!:rotfl2:
:rotfl2:
I'm going to go back on your TR to read the comments again! :lmao:
Here's a toast to you...:drinking1...

Lurkyloo, please tell me that you'll be writing another trippie after your vacay in WDW for Halloween festivities :)

Please, please please...I've thoroughly enjoyed this report on Tokyo. Thank you for sharing it with your DIS friends.

Thanks again Carrie for such a fabulous report of a place I never thought I wanted to visit until I saw your photos & read your report!:thumbsup2

Have fun at Halloweentime!!!!!!!!!!

Lurkyloo, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to write this trip report. I've looked forward to every installment and I am sad that it had to end! I'll be going to TDL next year for the first time, and your trip report has given me more information than any website. Thank you so much! :thumbsup2

Carrie, I have been reading your TR on your blog, but just wanted to stop in here and say how much I loved reading this TR! Definitely one of the best I've read. I feel like I've been to Tokyo.

As usual, I look forward to your future TR's...hope you having a great time at the Food&Wine festival!

You definitely have! I'm currently dreaming and scheming about when/how we can do this...someday! Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. Great finish -- I'm glad you made it back for one last day at TDS. Looking forward to reading about your other adventures soon.:goodvibes

What a bummer that they never let you go inside the temples.

Awe, so glad you got to go back once more!

I looooooooooooooove the spring theme. So great!

Yes! It's so pretty with all those colors. I was totally hooked!

Amazing trip report, Carrie:cloud9: I have always wanted to go to Japan, even before Tokyo Disney was an option. Of course now that it is, it's just been my #1 dream destination! I feel like reading this report and seeing your pics got me a little closer, if only virtually:flower3: I'll get there someday.

Oh I so hope you do! I think you'll appreciate it even more for having a non-Disney interest too. :cutie:

I am so glad that you made it back to the parks! And the weather looked nice as well! I can't believe they are releasing Duffy while we are in WDW. I don't know if I want one yet or not. I will see you at the Sip and Stroll! We are driving down on Saturday and I can't wait!

So.... did you buy one? :teeth: I just kept telling myself, "If I didn't buy one when I was in Japan, I'm not going to buy one now!" However, on our last day we did get suckered into taking a photo with Duffy—I even blushed when he gave me a hug!

What a fantastic trip report! I enjoyed every page!

Just an observation:I have noticed from your pictures that there seem to be no foreign tourists at Disneyland or Disneysea: did you encounter any non-Japanese at the parks?

Do the CMs speak English?

We saw a few Americans and Europeans there, but not a lot. One group we overheard debating a ride on Raging Spirits, so we warned them off it! :rotfl: Many of the CMs speak English, but not as many as certain guidebooks lead you to believe. This isn't really a problem, since you can usually communicate fine through hand gestures or they can find you someone who speaks it, but it was unexpected.

:worship::worship::worship:

I'd call this the Tokyo Disney Ultimate Trip Report!! Thanks for all your "hard work" although I know you enjoy it! :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading! Without readers like you, I'd just be a sad, crazy lady spamming the boards with oversized photos... :lmao:

Thanks again for a wonderful trip report. Maybe you can squeeze me into your suitcase when you go back in April:laughing:

Only if you have HUGE pockets for carrying back the inevitable souvenirs! :rotfl2:

Lurkyloo, you are the best! I love the comments, esp. the foodie comments!!:rotfl2:

Yay! So glad you enjoyed it! The food is usually the best part of vacation for me... ;)

Yes! In fact, you may or may not be seeing a little preview in the next post...

Thanks again Carrie for such a fabulous report of a place I never thought I wanted to visit until I saw your photos & read your report!:thumbsup2

Have fun at Halloweentime!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I'm glad to think you might be a little more interested in going there now. Maybe Adventures By Disney will *finally* realize what a gold mine they'd have in a Tokyo Disney/Hong Kong Disney tour and make it easy for you!

I'm so glad to hear that! I just wanted to demystify the process for people, so I can't wait to hear how your trip goes. Thanks for reading!

I love your loot!! I can wait for WDW loot in a month!!

Seriously! Wait, hmmm... actually, we hardly bought anything except retro Epcot T-shirts for Patrick. The merchandise at WDW right now is kinda disappointing... :sad2:

Yay! Thanks for stopping by! We've brought back tons of photos, stories, and opinions from F&W, so I'll have to start that trip report soon.

You definitely have! I'm currently dreaming and scheming about when/how we can do this...someday! Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. Great finish -- I'm glad you made it back for one last day at TDS. Looking forward to reading about your other adventures soon.:goodvibes

Oh good - I'm glad you've started to plan! It really helps make it seem more possible, I think. I'll be finishing up our Christmas trip report and starting this latest one, Halloween, soon!

In fact....

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this sneak peek at our costumes for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which we attended in Orlando on Tuesday and will be going to in Anaheim next Friday.

Patrick went as Harrison Hightower, proprietor of Tokyo DisneySea's Hightower Hotel, and I was Constance Hatchet, the Haunted Mansion's black widow! Our pals the Roots lovingly documented the experience for us. It was really fun but, as we'd expected, few in Florida know who HH is. They still thought Patrick's costume was cool, though, and some thought we worked for Disney. However, the best moment of all was when Patrick stepped off the Winnie the Pooh ride and two Japanese tourists ran up to him exclaiming, "Mr. Hightower! May we take your picture?"

I did! I broke down and bought one after we took our picture with him on our last day in the park. I even bought two outfits. I am such a sucker!

...interior shots of the hotel where u stayed....and THAT TOILET:lmao:.

.....hhmmmmmm....suppose our local area Walmart sells one?:lmao:.

Now if I could only have that in my master bathroom and then the Vista Spa (from the Disney Wonder) heated recliner in my living room - then I would be in business!:cloud9:

Love gettin' caught up on yer tr!:goodvibes

WOW, wow, and MORE wow.

I have been reading along over the past few months, just totally in love with all the great photos and, as with everyone else, feel like I could make a trip to Disneyland Tokyo after reading your TR!! I learned so much... Crazy story about the train :scared1: Loved all the cherry blossom pics... Both parks are amazing. The food pics were so much fun to look at! Oh, but the urinals, yeah, gee -- quite a view!!! WHAT a haul for souveniers, but I guess if you go that far!!! :thumbsup2

I love that you got to meet Christine (2xcited2sleep) this past week, and went to MNSSHP! :goodvibes I am flying to Disneyland myself this Friday! Alas, we won't be in any condition to hit the parks friday -- I hope you enjoy the halloween party! We are going to be at DCA and Disneyland the 30th and 31st to experience Halloween -- it will be absolute madness I am sure, but we are looking forward to going!

Totally cool costumes!! YOU make a great "Hatchet"!!!!!

Thanks for always sharing your trips. A Lurkyloo PTR and TR never disappoints!

Wow again! Love your costumes, and the pic with the castle is great! That is so :rotfl2:about the Japanese tourists!

Those costumes...Totally Awesome!! That may have been the first time Mr. Hightower ever stepped foot in WDW!!

So you like Cat's?

Our Queen has an official birthday as well.

That is a truely awesome amount of loot.

How cool that a Janpanese tourist wanted a photo with Patrick.

Very sad that I missed you in Orlando, if only the meet wasn't when I was at Le Cellier.
