Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 8/2/14 - 8/9/14

I haven't even been able to really read about the excursions yet, I'm still trying to get a spring break trip planned.BUT, August 3rd is our anniversary, so I do know I'd like to score a dining reservation. Maybe Palo? Would you veterans say that would be the best place?

I, too, am a teacher and love my schedule except when I can't take off for the off-season at Disney. ;)

Sounds like we have a lot of teachers! Tanya and I teach HS Spanish--how about you guys??

For your anniversary, Palo would be great or Remy for an even bigger splurge. 8/3 is an at sea day so Palo brunch will be an option as well. I've done the brunch and the dinner and thought both were great!! Still deciding if I want to splurge for Remy this time or not.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the expense of Remy. We have loved Palo for both brunch and dinner on our past cruises. But I'm a tad concerned 1) regarding the expense of Remy and 2) will the food be _Too_ fancy for me? I enjoy good food, but I'm wondering if Remy might be a tad too, something. . .

TIA!

BTW, I teach Latin. Yes in a public school! Yeah! (Except for the bad press we got several years ago. - I teach in the "camera-gate" school, if you followed the small national 'splash'.)

Sounds like we share the same concerns regarding Remy, Joy. Palo's dinner was great, but I'm afraid Remy might be too formal for me. I'd be worried about using the wrong silverware!

Yay, Latin. I'm at a public school too and we have 3 Latin teachers in our dept. Not familiar with your camera-gate. You'll have to fill us in at the Meet!

Joy,

I had to think about that for a second:rotfl:

WOW!

As for dinner at Remy, the other piece is that we are theatre people and LOVE the shows. We haven't seen any of the ones of the Fantasy. (My parents DID see Aladdin at DL, and Stayed for the next show, they thought it was That good!

I've read that Remy can take 3 hours or more. I can see that being lovely and relaxing, but I can also see myself wanting to do All the other stuff on the ship. . .

Camera-gate isn't _that- exciting. The HS students in my district are issued laptops. A student accused the district of "spying" on him by activating the camera on his computer remotely. At the time, the district had not made the public aware that it had such a capability. The issue spiraled wildly. Short story long, the district was foolish, but not malicious. The student was Not innocent. The whole thing was a MESS!:scared1:

Things like that make me LIVE for vacation!:yay:

Aladdin is a can't miss show:thumbsup2

We won't be doing any dinners in the adult only restaurants because we like to spend dinner together as a family.

If our servers are not top notch, we may skip a MDR visit and try Cabannas for dinner one night.

I will be looking to book a brunch at Palo's on the cruise but I am debating whether or not I want to miss the Castaway Club meet and greet on Sunday or go on Thursday our sea day:confused3

Lots of special occasions! Our anniversary is the 6th, and I am going to try for Palo. Another teacher here too - I was a special education teacher and now do research/teach at university. I wish all schools would go to a year-round schedule, it would make Disney vacations easier to plan.

I started out teaching special ed and then 3rd grade until I took off 8 years when the kiddos came. I went back to work this year as an elementary librarian, which is the best job in the world.

I, too, looked at Remy and my hubby said he didn't care where we ate. Of course, it is early days and he really hasn't looked into anything. He is not a huge Disney fan YET, so he lets me do all the planning which is a blessing and a curse. We are traveling with my parents, so that evening will give them some time with the grandkids alone to do something fun.

I'm looking into a CA Disneyland trip for Spring Break, is the Aladdin show the same one that is shown there?

Chance of snow here at the beach tomorrow night, which doesn't happen often, so we are excited down here. Hope everyone stays warm with this next cold blast.

We have 193 days to go. I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and looking at the the weather forecast for today. It's -1 outside right now, and there is snow coming down. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can start walking outside again. I love to walk to get in vacation mode - I put my music on and just dream away.

August can't come soon enough - looking at 9-16 inches of snow today in Philla/S. Jersey! UGH, I'm just gonna look at some photos from previous cruises and go to my happy place!!!1:goodvibes

My children's school was closed today. Middle DD missed her midterms:woohoo: I guess she will get a few more days to study:thumbsup2

Me and DW slid home from work down snow covered roads. The fridge is full so we are good:thumbsup2

Enjoy your time with your family:goodvibes
