How is the noise from above at Pop? ;) In other words, can you hear your upstairs neighbors every time they walk across the room?

I requested 4th floor when I did online check in but got the 2nd floor. I was afraid we'd hear the people upstairs and we didnt hear anything. We couldn't even hear the people next to us.

What is it that people like about POP. We've only done movies and moderates in the past.. This time my daughter would like POP Or AOA.

I stayed there for the first time in October. We picked POP just because of the theming of it. It looked fun.

Bus service, lake, theme-shawdow boxes near check in are cool, walk to AoA, and I like the layout of food court better than All Stars.

We have stayed at Movies & Pop (once each). They are similar and we would stay at either, but will likely return to Pop next time.

At Movies, we thought the resort felt less crowded and enjoyed the food court more. It also seemed more lush (love those palm trees) & prefer the theming at Movies.

At Pop, we enjoyed the dedicated bus service a lot and the bus rides always seemed short (probably in part because we weren't stopping at Sports & Music first). Pop also has the lake which made it feel slightly more like a "resort" than a motel, and we liked the option of walking over to AoA. In fact, sometimes we took the bus from the parks directly to AoA and ate there (much faster/tastier food service IMO) and then walked back to our room at Pop.

Anyone staying at POP week of March 17th? I'll be there with my wife on her spring break. She is a teacher and luckily her spring break isn't a block out date for our FL passes.

Be prepared...its going to be packed. We went that week 2 yrs ago and we couldn't do half the stuff we wanted to because the crowds were crazy and the FPs sold out quick. But we were only there for 3 days. So we tried to squeeze in a lot in a little bit of time.

I've had a ground floor room three times at Pop Century, and I can't recall ever hearing walking noise from above. I think the main thing you can hear from other rooms, ground floor or no, is the turbojet toilet flushing noise.

I would have to agree about not hearing your neighbors above you on the ground floor. We just got back from Pop a week ago and had a bottom floor room for the first time. At first I was disappointed, but it turned out to be fine.

I've only noticed toilets flushing and people walking past the room.

I requested 4th floor when I did online check in but got the 2nd floor. I was afraid we'd hear the people upstairs and we didnt hear anything. We couldn't even hear the people next to us.

Thanks, I'm glad it isn't an issue. It seems like whenever I've been below other rooms in a hotel, the people above hold tap dancing competitions. ;)

Pop thread tangent -- The Mighty Ducks section at Movies is a nice location because it's convenient to the Music main pool, food court and buses, so you have several options (Music or Movies amenities) to choose from. The Mighty Ducks icons...well...it's no Lady and the Tramp section...the pool is cute though. :goodvibes

True! even though my pint was, you will take the shortest route , even if the route is an ugly view... this is exactly what we did. and it turned out great.

we did not have a pool view, but our room was a short walk to the stairs, on the 2nd floor. so we spent a lot of time at the mighty ducks pool, and actually, we almost always used the music food court and bus stop and outside bar.

I know :thumbsup2 I was just speaking about paying for a specific room type, in general :)

cool, as long as you know.. !!:) the reason I specified is that one time I didn't know. booking preferred at movies, I thought I would be guaranteed to NOT have a parking lot view... cause I thought preferred was fantasia. and they changed it and we had dalmations with a semi parking lot viewl no biggie. room was convenient. but, had I known I probably wouldnt have paid for preferred.

we never pay for preferred at pop.

I was afraid because we lived in an apartment YEARS ago and I swear we could hear our neighbors breathing lol

The boys are pretty much all packed. My carry one is getting there. A week from today will be the best day of our family's life. They boys find out that I don't really have an appointment in Minneapolis and we get to go on a plane and see Mickey and Minnie!!!! How am I going to function till we get on the plane? Work, shmork. I am on vacation brain and will be there till I get back. I don't care if the auditors are coming. I will just bore them with all my Disney talk. lol Oh wait you wanted our cost allocations sheets. Oh I am sorry I though you wanted to see my tour plans. lol

Help! Last time I was in Disney was in 2009 and I stayed at POR. I remember having a major issue with COFFEE. The "coffee" in the dining hall was Nescafé - yuck. Can anyone tell me what the coffee situation is like at POP? Thank you :)

Can anyone tell me how late check out works. We are checking out of Pop on June 5 and then checking in at AKL. We will have a car so I am not worried about getting luggage or any of that stuff. But, here is the situation:

On the 5th we have Chef Mickey's at 9:30, my intention is to take the bus and walk/monorail. Afterwards, I intended to explore Contemporary and then return to POP. I would like to use the extra time to pack. I am only going to pack an overnight bag to take out of the car at AKL as we are only staying one night. Can Pop move this bag for me? My son doesn't know we are changing hotels for the one night, so if I didn't have to take out a bag at AKL it would be even better. :)

All Disney resorts are now serving Joffrey's brand coffee. Joffrey's is a Florida brand.

While I grew accustomed to the taste of Nescafé, the Joffrey's is brewed coffee vs. the Nescafé concentrate coffee, so I think it's got more normal coffee flavor and characteristics.

As with most coffee whether it's "good" or "bad" will be up you. But yes, it's not Nescafé any more.

Check out is at 11:00 a.m. While you can request a late check out, you cannot do that until the check out day (I've requested and received late check outs the night before at deluxe resorts, but have had no luck at value or moderate resorts except on the day of). Typically, if granted a late check out, it is only one or two hours extra past 11:00. If you have a 9:30 a.m. ressie at CM, exploring CR afterward, and you're using bus transportation, I don't see you getting back to Pop much before noon. Even with a 1:00 late check out, that doesn't give you a lot of time to pack up.

Pop will transfer your bag from Pop to AKL, but there is no guaranty about when you'll get that bag. It will likely be in the very late afternoon. If I had a car, I'd just throw it in the car. That way you'll have what you need when you want it (swimsuits, etc.).

I was afraid we still wouldn't have a lot of time. We will probably just go ahead and check out normal then go to DTD or something. If we end up not using our park day on day one, we may go to MK. I will more than likely just swap my bags myself too. Thank you for the information. :)

Aha! Good to know. Thanks so much!

9 days until our departure and I'm worried we won't make it.

My ds has been sick for 3 days now and while I'm sure he'll have recovered by then, I'm concerned dh and/or I will catch it.
We have travel insurance through our credit card, but the thought of not being able to make the trip we've had planned for 4.5 months makes me feel ill.
