~ Sew Sweet 16 ~I’m packing your angry eyes just in case~Aug 2014~ BFF' bag 8/20!!!!

I decided to ante up the Magicband covers and add ruffles....

I started off with the Toy Story one to coordinate with my TS bag and gear... I really love how it turned out - it uses the exact fabrics I used for my bag - it's just cute!

IMG_338309871686.jpeg

So, then I decided if my TS cover was going to be awesome - then my Donald one needed to be awesome too... This was a fun one to put together - however - once I was finished, I realized it would also be a great Snow White... So, here's my Donald/Snow White cover... LOL

These detailed MB covers take a bit longer for me to make... The plain ones are about 15-20 min... These are about an hour each... Still not bad, but a bit more work. I am debating on making another Minnie one... We'll see...

D~

ok I need to figure out these MB covers yours are so cute.

Thanks for always cheering me on. The support is what keeps me from failing this time around. I need to finish the primal blueprint because I am going to incorporate some of it when I get back and after my post vacation refresh. I do like some of the tips.

Also working on finding actual calorie intake with lifting.

Have an awesome day.

I don't eat fast food very often, either. I hope you can make it through WDW without having too many problems. I can usually find plenty of things to eat and if I'm really desperate and stuck with a counter service option only, like at DHS, I'll just eat the cheeseburger without the bun. ;)

Your MB carriers are cute. I like them a lot better than those slip on fabric covers that are available for sale in the shops. I tried painting the little Mickey head on my MB, the one that is near the holes, and it was pretty bad. So I gave up on painting the Mickey head. I am just not that good nor do I have the right paints. :sad2:

I know that you must be close to your departure. The girls must be getting excited. I had been worried about the heat and humidity we'll encounter in September, but we have had such a cool summer that a little heat and humidity in Florida doesn't scare me too much.

I love your mb covers. I'm thinking that I should try making some for our trip.
I don't eat fast food either. Sometimes I have Arbie's on Wednesday's when I'm at my mom's.
I finally got my vacation approved for the most part. she didn't do the last 2 days for my son-in-law or me but we'll call off if we have to since we'll be at Disney and obviously can't come in. She knew about it for months but tried saying we were too important to be gone at the same time. He told her we were family and families go on vacation together.
I have to go to Sam's for Disney gift cards soon. They sell packs of 3 $50 cards for 10% off.
Today we're going out to look for shirts for work. they changed to dress code again. We now have to wear either navy or white collared shirts and khaki or black pants or capris.
Liz

I LOVE the MB covers! I'm hoping I can simply figure out how to add tattoos and seal mine.

So, I just have to say, I read the following about four times wondering "hmmm...what does that mean?" before I moved on to the second part of your sentence. :rotfl2: "Hoping Josh decides to smoke something today... "

Wow!!!! I love those MB covers!!!!! I think you should definitely think about adding those into your inventory!!!

Getting soooooo close now!!!!

I am thinking of selling a pattern for them? :scratchin It's one thing to do a pattern for my bags, but the MB covers, I think I could manage. ROFL. We'll see.

Primal Blueprint is such a great book, I learned a lot from it, and continue to do so - I've read it several times.

I use the Scooby calculator to figure my intake from any excercise - including lifting. If you google it - it should come right up.

I hope you had a great day toO!

That is my plan too... But I do plan to splurge on a few things while I am down there... Just hoping my shorts still fit by the end of the trip. :worship:

Thanks - I haven't seen the ones available in the stores yet, I am kind of curious to see what they look like.

Sorry the painting didn't go well for you... Definitely need a steady hand - which I don't have, but I made it work.

We are all getting so excited! Not looking forward to the heat at all, but looking forward to just being there. Can't wait until we can go when it isn't so hot. LOL

Thanks Liz... I am thinking of selling a pattern to make them. :scratchin It shouldn't be too hard to draft one up?

Yay for approved vacation... I would call off too -it's not as if they didn't have enough notice. Sometimes I wonder about retail? LOL

Hmmm... I didn't realize that Sam' had a better deal than Target - should have gone there after Target nixed all of the discounts.

Good luck finding shirts. I hate it when they change dress codes. I think we will forever be "red n' khaki". LOL

Thanks... Yah - I didn't do the tattoo version - thought about it, but didn't even know where to begin hunting for tattoos?

ROFL... Yah - I can see where I worded that a little wrong. Sorry about that. Glad you figured it out - or I may have lost a reader.

Wow!!!! I love those MB covers!!!!! I think you should definitely think about adding those into your inventory!!!

Getting soooooo close now!!!!

THanks! I might - depending on the order and how much time I have left to do accessories. :)

Yes, we are... It's very exciting and sad at the same time.

**********************************************************

I honestly don't know what to do with myself these last few days before our trip...

Our customs are done.

Our bags are packed.

I am at a loss.

So, yesterday, I started working on my first bag order for after we return. I managed to get it cut out and quilted.

Last night - we had some major flooding... Around 3pm, it started to torrential downpour and it went on for hours... It was very localized - about 5 square miles, but we were the center of it. The low lying areas in town and around town are lakes... Thankfully we live on a hill - so we weren't affected. It was still kind of scary though when Josh had to go get Alli from her closing shift last night. Hopefully the water recedes a little bit today.

So, my plan for today...

I plan to work on the applique for the above mentioned bag.

This morning/afternoon the girls and I have our nail appointments for our trip. We are meeting up with BFF and Olivia and having them all done together. I guarantee that my girls are NOT doing anything Disney themed. :confused3 They realized about a week ago that they go back to school a few days after we get home - and they "don't want Disney on their nails"... Seriously? Who cares? LOL Oh well... It's fun for them anyways. Me? I'll get my standard red dots - because they go with all of my outfits. Not a clue what BFF and Olivia are doing?

Then, I'll come back home and work on the bag again. ::yes::

Same ol', same ol'... Kind of boring here right now.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers and good thoughts to all! :grouphug:

D~

I can't see to see your nails.
I'm impressed that you are all packed and ready to go. I'm in single digitals and have given very little thought to packing, other then pulling the girls few disney shirts from the clean laundry.

You need to include some Magic Band covers in your next auction. I imagine they would do really well! Plus, I think I need some :rotfl:

Enjoy your day today!

I do love the Donald/Snow White and Toy Story band covers! It doesn't surprise me in the least that you had to doll them up a bit more. Plain has never been your trademark! They are great! And doing a pattern is probably a great idea! Why don't you do that while you're bored???

I hope Josh smoked something too. Great turn of phrase!!:smokin:

The nail excursion sounds really fun! Are you getting pedis too? It's so much more fun when you've got other people with you. I predict a lot of laughter.

Has Olivia seen her bag yet? Did she like it? How could she not, really.

I'll be sending your Dad a postcard from Disney. Last time I sent the castle. What else would he enjoy especially?

Have a wonderful, un-boring day today!!! You're going to Disney…soon!!!!!:yay:

I love the covers with the ruffles. I really loved the Snow White/Donald one.

I am debating on getting a manicure before I leave. I am definitely getting a pedicure tomorrow during lunch but a manicure is still up in the air.

I'm scheduled for hair and a mani next week, but my nails don't seem to want to grow, so I went last week to get them polished, hoping they will be a bit longer next week. Did that make any sense?

I, for one would buy the mb cover pattern.

Your getting close now!

I swear, the last little bit is the WORST! You have everything done and you are just waiting, unable to think of anything besides leaving!! :rotfl:

I both do and don't look forward to that stage myself! ;)

Nails turned out ADORABLE!! Love them, I am thinking of doing my toes since I will be wearing the tevas mostly. My fingers never seem to do good, the paint always comes off, so I will probably leave them be. :scratchin

Ugh! Flooding is never good. We were having quite a bit of flooding a few months ago. It was like the whole city was underwater. Never fun to deal with!

I'm glad that you have a little bit of time to just 'relax' before you trip! I hate that feeling where it's right before a big trip, and it seems like up until the minute you leave it always go, go, go. Always good to have everything done a few days ahead of schedule. :thumbsup2

I think you should market the MB covers to Disney. It's a great idea! I think it would become really popular. :)

Sounds like you've been keeping busy!! Can't wait to see your nails!!

We had a pretty exciting weekend! We got to go to the 49ers game at the new Levi's Stadium!!!!! It was awesome!!! While I was sad the Niner's lost we still had a great time!!! We left the older 3 with Jeff's dad and just brought the baby. He was so good and ended up falling asleep in my arms while we were watching the game! The noise didn't bother him at all. Another reason I loved getting to go is because Jeff did a lot of the HVAC work there and I got to see pictures that he'd taken during construction so I loved getting to go see the finished product!

Please, please, please forgive my absence! I'm hopelessly behind but I'm so glad that I can see glimpses of your plans and prep for your trip via FB!

I loved your adorable MB covers. How clever are those! :thumbsup2

I wanted to wish you all the best for your upcoming trip! :goodvibes

I am half debating acrylics for the trip but probably not. Have fun with the nails.

Allison got acrylics - she has really bad nails and can't seem to grow them, but the rest of us just did gel manicures. I love gel! Sadly, because of her job, Allison has to pay to have them taken off before she can go back to work. :confused3

I can't see to see your nails.
I'm impressed that you are all packed and ready to go. I'm in single digitals and have given very little thought to packing, other then pulling the girls few disney shirts from the clean laundry.

Pretty much packed and ready to go... Do our trips overlap? If so, we should plan a Dismeet!

You need to include some Magic Band covers in your next auction. I imagine they would do really well! Plus, I think I need some

Enjoy your day today!

Hahaha... I might just do that - so many people seem to like them.

Thanks - I did - I hope you did too!

I do love the Donald/Snow White and Toy Story band covers! It doesn't surprise me in the least that you had to doll them up a bit more. Plain has never been your trademark! They are great! And doing a pattern is probably a great idea! Why don't you do that while you're bored???

Hahaha... If I would have thought of it a week ago - I would have. LOL Now I don't think I have the time?

Yes, we did manis and pedis - except for Alli - she doesn't like people touching her feet.

Yes, Olivia received her bag yesterday... She loves it!

Hmmm... He might enjoy a postcard of Epcot... He was there once when we went down to visit my Aunt and Uncle who used to live in FL... Where do you take someone who has never been to WDW before and likely won't again? Epcot? :teacher: :confused3

Thanks! It was wonderful and definitely not boring... Tomorrow will be the boring day. LOL

I love the covers with the ruffles. I really loved the Snow White/Donald one.

I am debating on getting a manicure before I leave. I am definitely getting a pedicure tomorrow during lunch but a manicure is still up in the air.

Thanks! I love using ruffles in anything I can. LOL It's tough though, because Magicbands are so tiny. LOL

You should!!! It's so much fun! I just love my nail guy - he is awesome! I am probably the only person who comes in and asks for dots. LOL

I'm scheduled for hair and a mani next week, but my nails don't seem to want to grow, so I went last week to get them polished, hoping they will be a bit longer next week. Did that make any sense?

I, for one would buy the mb cover pattern.

Your getting close now!

Yay!!! I hope your nails grow... I had to chop off 3 of my nails last week - so 3 of them are a bit shorter than the rest. My guy offered to lengthen them for me, but he changed his mind because he was afraid they wouldn't hold up for our trip... It didn't matter one way or the other for me - as long as I had my dots! :woohoo:

Awesome!!! I think that is something I can do... Can't be that hard to make a MB pattern... LOL

I swear, the last little bit is the WORST! You have everything done and you are just waiting, unable to think of anything besides leaving!!

I know... I am a total wreck right now... LOL

Thanks! You should - it's so fun! And with your painting skills, you could do them yourself - easy, peasy.

Thankfully, by the time we went to town yesterday, all of the flooding I had seen the night before was gone - which surprised me, because it was FULL!

Yah... But I do go a bit stir crazy with nothing to do... Then I try to find stuff to do... My family thinks I am a bit nuts - can't argue really. :cool2:

I wish I could... It would be fun, but I am sure they have already come up with that idea themselves... I am kind of anxious to get down there and see what kind of fun accessories they have for them. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you've been keeping busy!! Can't wait to see your nails!!

That is awesome!!! And how cool that you were able to see Jeff's finished work. Glad you had a great time!

Please, please, please forgive my absence! I'm hopelessly behind but I'm so glad that I can see glimpses of your plans and prep for your trip via FB!

I wanted to wish you all the best for your upcoming trip!

Hi Brenda!!!! No worries at all - I've fallen hopelessly behind on yours, as well. I agree - at least there is facebook. I find it easiest to follow TRs that aren't too busy... LOL But sadly, all of my friends have busy TRs too... LOL So, I am hopelessly behind everywhere. Sigh... I will try to pop in to say hello, at least. :wizard:

Thank you and thank you!

**********************************************************

OK - so yesterday was fun!

We met up with BFF and Olivia to have our nails done for the trip... All of us had Mani/Pedis - except Alli, she had acrylics put on and no pedi. We went to the salon I've been going to for a while, and I think they did a great job. My nail tech is used to me now, and knew exactly what I wanted - I didn't even have to show him a picture... However - as much as I love his work, he still hasn't gotten the "Mickey Head" right... I might take that off today and redo it. ::yes::

I"ll let all of you guess who is who...

20140818_125647.jpg

Afterwards... BFF stole my children and took them to the mall... Alli wanted to go to the mall one more time before we leave, and BFF needed to go too... So, they all ran off together, and I came home to tan. :rolleyes1

Josh and I had a nice romantic dinner for 2... Pork chops on the grill, baked potatoes and I had a side salad too. It was delicious!

BFF brought the girls home and visited for a while... We talked about the trip and what our game plan is...

Then she left and I went to bed.

I've been having issues sleeping this week... I've been up every morning at 2am, and I haven't been able to fall back to sleep... Then when Josh gets up to get ready for work - he comes downstairs and yells at me... He is mocking me that I am too excited for our trip... I am about ready to belt him. popcorn::

I"ll start you all off with a picture of our luggage staging, as it sits in my livingroom... I am packed and ready - except for that pile of bags on top of my luggage... V is packed and ready... Except for that pile of bags I have to add to her luggage. :rolleyes1 And Alli... I think her luggage is still empty in the upstairs linen closet? I do know she has all of her clothes washed and ready to pack, because there has been a concentrated effort by her to wear "other" clothes this week... but other than that, not a clue where her packing stands? :laundy:

20140819_045521.jpg

So, our agenda for today...

I will be doing one of the levels of the 30 Day Shred... Not sure which level yet?

The girls have Dr.s appts this morning... We should be home by 11ish... If it's sunny, I am going to tan. If it isn't, I will work on the applique for my next bag. At 2pm, I have a (MUCH needed) hair appt... The last time I had it colored/highlighted was right before Chicago... So, I am due! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having my hair done, so I am very excited to have it nice and fresh for our trip. :wizard:

Then, I will come home and make something for dinner... :confused3

At some point today, I am going to try to get those bags packed in V's luggage.

I also realized this morning, I don't remember seeing my shampoo/conditioner/body wash in my luggage, so I need to check the bag of shower products I put in V's luggage to make sure it's in there. I would be so sad if I forgot those items - I have certain scents I like to use while in Disney... It just makes me happier.

Alrighty - I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Prayers and good thoughts to all! :grouphug:

D~

Ummm....maybe you should have shipped your bags ahead???? ;)
I don't know how you fit it all in there! And the most important question......where are you going to fit all the souvies you buy????

Eeeek! So excited for you, it is going to be such a fun trip with BFFs :)

As long as Ali packs the night before, you'll be fine. :goodvibes I start setting aside important things that I want to be sure not to forget, like MagicBands and luggage tags, as early as a few weeks ahead of time. And the carry on might be packed early. But we usually wait until the night before to pack our clothes. And toiletries wait until the morning of the trip. I have a "use and pack" method.
