blue, i am dying over here. they took away the sticky buns because of nut allergies and instead sprinkled nuts like confetti all over the perfectly allergy-safe foods!

trisha and circusgirl, it's so silly, the chefs at all the restaurants are so awesome about this stuff. you feel so spoiled that it's almost embarrassing. but CL just doesn't get it.

I gave feedback about the nuts and a few things directly to two chefs. I got the impression that they are no longer in charge of the menus.

Saw many allergy families meeting with them. Do not know what was done. But have seen a lot of guests unhappy about nuts.

Here with large group of our family. We leave Thurs. let me know any questions.

baler, you're the best! thank you! i am curious whether they are selling cases of water in the gift shop, as i have seen on the boards that some other resorts are doing this.

edited to add: regarding my earlier post, i really hate to complain about anything about RPC, it is by far my favorite place to stay and has so many wonderful things about it. but i like what i like, lol.

Wine service. No problem getting wine throughout the day. CM's have been over the top fabulous. Water typically not in lounge again but available.

New welcome gift, nicer than previous.

Still prefer self serve! Do they pour a decent glass or stingy 3oz serving?

I'm not happy about the "bread disappearance" either... We all love bread in my family! I'm really hoping the sticky buns aren't gone forever! They had them a couple of times last October, but then we didn't see them in February. The CMs said they still had them sometimes, but maybe they were wrong. They took away the tomato pesto for a short while and then it was back....I'm wondering if that's because so many people complained?? Maybe if we all voice our opinions about the things they've taken away, they'll bring them back ??

Tell me where to send my email - LOL! I've never even had the sticky buns to be mad about them being gone, but I want to try some in November!!

Seemed ample per my SIL, I am more a bourbon and beer gal. The beer and cordials are still self serve unlike our April BC stay where getting beer was a P**A. Sorry but there was no other way to explain it.

So is a mimosa avaialble by request at breakfast? Remind me, what's a grand splash?

It's pretty much a mimosa...only with the tropical juice they serve during snack time at GF instead of orange juice. "Grand Splash" is just the name some of us decided to give the drink I actually haven't ever asked for this at breakfast before, but since DH sometimes gets a beer that time of day, maybe I can....unless they are concerned about the rest of the bottle going flat??

I know...kinda strange.... My DD has quite a few allergies..nuts included...and has had to limit a few more of the items that she can enjoy in the lounge....

Totally agree Beth....so many terrific things ...but ..it is a little disconcerting..we never make to much of a fuss over the allergies..and DD has some very bad ones..and I do not expect to be catered to..we are not in a restaurant..but..some things should just be common sense..ie...not mixing nuts on a platter of cheese....or having some offerings that are allergy friendly....and if you are oncerned enough to ask to see a chef..you really should be accommodated...

And Yes to your water question... they do sell cases of water in Sandy cove..I specifically took a pic...which I will gladly post...soon!

Dispro I see nothing wrong with starting the day with a "Grand Splash" in lieu of a sticky bun!

Tonights menu:
Beef Carpaccio, grilled vegetable stack, strawberry soup, crudite, meatballs, chicken skewers. Children's same as previous nights.

Had feedback that they are in the process of removing the nuts from the cheese tray.

Made a point to look at wine service. Pour is ample half glass.
