Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Are we on the same flight - 6:05am with Southwest??? LOL
Yes! We must be! Duh! I don't know why that didn't register? I think I've had the FD sleepless-night-hangover ALL week!! We will be a family of 5. DH (tall) 2 young adult DS's (brown hair) and DD15 and myself (brown hair, usually up in a pony tail or bun) . I plan on wearing my fire engine red Beach Club Resort tee shirt. Hope we can say "hi"!

And using Magical Vacations Travel I am able to get Beach Club using their labor day exclusive "sale" for 214 a night. Hope you tried looking at their pricing.
Yes, I actually did get them to work out a quote for us before FD was released. You are right, their prices are GREAT and I've even recommended them to friends since. Looking at the whole pic tho... by the time we paid for dining (family of 5 incl 2 young adult boys who are big eaters and a "foodie" DH for whom dining is not an area where you skimp) we would about be breaking even btwn their price and Disney's with FD. Plus they only offered Standard view and for us a great view is a BIG factor. Also, most of my stashed away WDW savings is in Disney Gift Cards on my DVA so I couldn't use those to pay thru an agency. I am going to rearrange how I do my savings and for our next trip, will def be contacting them again.

Sorry to annoy - 16 oz? 6 in a case?

Sorry
No...a case of 24 12 oz. the price was $6.39 but there was speculation the price may have gone up a bit with the recent price increase as discussed a few pages back, which is why I hedged a bit with the under $7

I should have said we are DVC so in the Villas. That probably makes it less likely as it does run at high occupancy. But 2 years ago we were met at the DME bus by a CM and escorted directly to our Villa, never even stepping in the Lobby. It was wonderful. The year before we didn't get our Villa until after 5. Most years it is in the 3 PM range.
We don't make any requests either.
We don't mind as we usually check our carryon's with Bell Services and head to Epcot in time for lunch. Our plan this year is to head directly to DHS after we arrive.
By the time we get back (usually between 4 and 5) our Villa is ready and our bags have been delivered. I unpack and settle in for the week. Then we usually head back to Epcot for a TS dinner and an early night.

thank you, thank you, thank you all - we don't mind getting water at meals, so the bottles are just for when we are at the resort. Perfect. Major task crossed off the list

DS can drink 2% and we will have more room in the suitcase for his souvenirs:goodvibes.

Just an FYI for next time, you can pay said TA with Disney gift cards. I had MANY last year - this year I'm excited to merge all gc's to one or two cards (up to $1000 on each card I believe). And I certainly agree, standard views are less than desirable!

GOOD TO KNOW!!! I never would have guessed that! Thanks for posting!
I've got a stack of GC's I've not even loaded to DVA yet. That's gonna be a two-person job as DD15 can see those tiny numbers better than I can!!

I'm not sure if this the right place to ask this so I apologize if it isn't.
Currently I have a room booked at YC but I really want BC. I keep checking online but there is no availability. Do they hold rooms back for the people who call to make reservations or is it pretty much what you see is what you get online?

So I read a few pages back about people having mix up issues with Garden Grocer. Has anyone else had issues? I'm concerned b/c I just placed an order for our May trip and I purchased all my son's baby food thru them and that I cannot go without!

The BC is more popular than the Yacht Club and fills up a lot sooner. But keep checking for a cancellation, especially after the 30 day paid in full date.

The Yacht Club is very nice, too. The access to Storm Along Bay is much closer from the Yacht Club than it is from the BC. And you are closer to the boat and the walk to DHS. All of the Yacht Club rooms, except for one club level room, have full balconies while only 50% of the BC have them. And the park buses pick up at the YC first, which is a really good plus. :)

I don't mind staying YC at all, its just my heart is with BC.

Hahaha that is too funny! Such a small world! I will definitely say hi if we see you! We'll also be using magical express, if you are too, then we'll probably be on the same bus to Beach Club too! Lol We will be 5 adults, with my niece (18 months old when we go). It's her first trip! Not sure what I'll be wearing yet, but you'll definitely see us in Disney gear! Lol

Yup! We're using DME too.

need some advice....sort of quick.

We are flying down a day earlier - on May 4. The only room available was a standard. So one night standard, then transferring the 5-10th to a garden view. Did online check in for the 4th thinking we have to transfer rooms to no real requests. Have not done online check in for the 5-10.

Put in gazebo, high floor, close to elevator for the garden view.

A garden view is now available the first night, so we wouldn't have to transfer, but what about my requests?

would LOVE to stay in same room, but was already asking planing on asking for room change if not close to elevator due to my mom's mobility issues. We won't get there until 8/8:30 pm.

We stayed there 4 times at Club Level. We loved it. The food was decent, especially for breakfast. The alcohol was nice, wine and beer, and cordials at night. My only complaint would be that they don't check who belongs at Club level. It was obvious that other non-club vacationers would hang out and wait for someone near the elevator and hitch a ride . The room was so full of diners in the am , that sometimes we took our food to our room because of the lack of tables.

I'm surprised Disney hasn't done what Embassy Suites does. There's a key pad on the wall near the omelet station (which turns into a free bar in the evenings) where an attendant has you swipe your room key before getting food or drinks. It would be easy enough to mount a couple of Mickey head magic band readers in in the club lounge near the food service area. A quick tap of the wrist, and Mickey rats out the freeloaders who don't belong in the lounge. That would deter the vast majority of the scammers who cause food offerings to be limited and/or room rates to go up.

I would stick with your original plan; standard room first and transfer to GV the next day. When you check in on the 4th to your standard room you can let the front desk know about your transfer the next day and more specifically about your requests for the GV room. I would also go down to the front desk the next morning [early ..7:00 AM] to restate those requests. It may or may not work, but think the odds will be on your side. If you go with GV for the duration [5/4 - 5/10] and with a late arrival, your room choices might be limited. Good luck either way and have a great time!

you guys are all going to think I am crazy!!!!

I just got off the phone with the YC. I called to see if they could tell me if the rooms had already been assigned and if so, if I changed the first night reservation to something new how badly I would be confusing the matter. She took my room requests again and said they would look up the 2nd reservation and do their best to prevent us for transferring rooms. I also asked if I should upgrade the first night to garden and just leave it as two reservations. She never answered the question but told me to call back next week.

UGH! Think I may do the upgrade on the first night. although maybe leave it alone.

Thank you. saw your post after mine.

think you are right. going to to leave it alone completely. sort of got the impression from the call that they may give us our may 5-10 room on the 4th if they can. Just show up and see what happens and then if we have to transfer, verify requests the pm/am before.

Do you think my odds will increase if upgrade the 4th to garden?
