Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

you guys are all going to think I am crazy!!!!

I just got off the phone with the YC. I called to see if they could tell me if the rooms had already been assigned and if so, if I changed the first night reservation to something new how badly I would be confusing the matter. She took my room requests again and said they would look up the 2nd reservation and do their best to prevent us for transferring rooms. I also asked if I should upgrade the first night to garden and just leave it as two reservations. She never answered the question but told me to call back next week.

UGH! Think I may do the upgrade on the first night. although maybe leave it alone.

You're not crazy, just trying to do your best for a seamless check in and vacation. I know the transfer process may seem disruptive, but since you're getting in late and won't have a lot of time to settle in, I think the process will be okay. If your GV room is ready @ 11:00 on the 5th simply check-out and check-in to your new room. If not, have bell services hold your bags and when the room is ready they'll bring them up to you.

Okay, question..... I booked a standard view BC through the magical agency. I recall a couple of months ago, a lot of people had booked these kinds of rooms through this agency, and then found out that they were upgraded to garden view or water view rooms. This was surmised to be because there aren't many standard view rooms, and they were 'oversold' on standard view.

So my question is, if this happened to you, when did you discover that your room category had been changed/> Before your trip, or when you arrived? And if it was before the trip, how long before the trip?

Thank you!

We got an upgrade at YC in Feb (booked direct, not a magical deal), but did not realize until we got the text that our room was ready. Others have reported seeing it on their reservation a few days before (rooms are assigned about 3 days in advance) or finding out at check in. Not sure how often upgrades are given prior to room assignments.

OMG! OMG! OMG!!!

Who is there now?

According to the Ale & Compass menu listed on the Disney website, MICKEY WAFFLES (with bacon) are now available for breakfast in the Yacht Club lobby:

The breakfast wrap sounds pretty darn good, too.

Can someone confirm this??? (thanks for the lead @pixarmom

Yes but from past experiences, when they have waffles at a resort courtyard, they do have the GF as well... So I am hopeful but a confirmation would be great!

This is awesome news!!!! We are huge mickey waffle lovers and were bummed they didn't have them at the Marketplace! So happy!!!!! Thank you for sharing!

We've checked in at both BC and the Poly at 6:30 am and our room was ready both times, and all our requests were met. So it's definitely a possibility!

This is a good question. We are in the same situation as you are and I'd love to hear what people's experiences were. The only pixie dust upgrade we have received at the BC since the new MDE system began was with an Orbitz reservation. I kept checking my MDE account to see if it had changed from GV to LV, but it didn't change at all. When we checking into the resort it turned out that we had been given a lagoon view room. When I checked my MDE account a day or two later, it had changed to LV for our room type. But it didn't change until long after we arrived. So there wasn't any hint that we were going to get an upgrade.

I was just thinking about our first trip to BC which was also our first stay in a deluxe (and at the time figured it would be our only one). We were hesitant and thought it may be "boring" and maybe we should have booked the Poly or AKL. As soon as we walked in the lobby we were in love :lovestruc. And I really don't ever want to stay anywhere else! And this board makes me love it even more and even more anxious to return.

hi all! staying at BC august 28-sept 4th with my hubby kiddos (11 and 2) my parents and sister, in 2 rooms. this will be my 3rd time at the resort, its beautiful, i love it, love the walk to epcot. just a little bummed because when FD was announced i was a crazy person who got up and booked it at 4am, but at 4am there was only lagoon/pool view left which was a little more than i wanted to pay but since i love it there so much i went ahead with it, looking daily for a cancellation for garden view. anyways, what is the best pool/lagoon view in your opinion? do those all have full balconies? is it loud if you are by stormalong bay at night? thanks!

need some advice....sort of quick.

We are flying down a day earlier - on May 4. The only room available was a standard. So one night standard, then transferring the 5-10th to a garden view. Did online check in for the 4th thinking we have to transfer rooms to no real requests. Have not done online check in for the 5-10.

Put in gazebo, high floor, close to elevator for the garden view.

A garden view is now available the first night, so we wouldn't have to transfer, but what about my requests?

would LOVE to stay in same room, but was already asking planing on asking for room change if not close to elevator due to my mom's mobility issues. We won't get there until 8/8:30 pm.
If close to elevator is important for your mother for mobility issues, you need to restate your requests. You have it as your third request. They try to fulfill requests from the first on. The more you have the less likely you will get what you want. If this is a need I would make it my only - or at least my first - request.

No category of rooms at the Beach Club, all have full balconies. Some will some won't

We've booked with the magical agency a few times in the past and have a trip booked at BC at the end of May thru them as well. When we stayed at POR standard view in September, booking w/them, I found out when I got the text w/our room number that we were upgraded to a garden view. Hoping we get upgraded to a garden view or lake view this trip too! I definitely think that the week we are going the standard view rooms are completely gone b/c when I tried to add a night to the beginning of our stay there was nothing available, so we are staying our first night at the BCV then transferring over to the BC.

Hopefully - I did list gazebo view first, but also mentioned mom's mobility issues. The women then started mentioning it so much that I specifically asked for no handicap accessible rooms. LOL - no need to go overboard. now worried we'll be in the first room off the elevator. Just really hoping we don't end up having to transfer rooms after the 1st night AND now, that we aren't in the very first room with possible noise all day and night.

Wood Nymph - a few pages back you suggested Captain's Grille for dinner and looking at the menus, I really like the lunch selections. Does anyone know if you can get carry out dinner from there? Or order off the lunch menu?

Definitely going to grab an adult beverage from beaches and cream to go that first night. Still debating food options. Seems like the lobster roll is off the menu at boardwalk. Taking to-go containers into Epcot may be my best bet.

now worried we'll be in the first room off the elevator.
We had the first room off the elevator at the YC back in Sept 2014 and it was a very quiet room. There weren't any rooms to the right of this room, so there was only one neighbor and we didn't hear any noise from them. The room isn't as close to the elevator as you would think. We never heard any noise from either the people getting on and off the elevator or from the sound of the machinery. The elevators are in a little lobby section, not in the same hallway as the rooms are. The location of the room was in a short wing with a limited number of rooms, hardly anyone walked past the room.

We also had the second room from the elevators and the Marketplace at the BC in February. That was also a very quiet room and in a short wing with very little foot traffic.

Thanks for the reassurance. I figured Disney would have the noise from the elevators figured out, but wasn't sure about the traffic noise - only an issue at night for us. DS will get us up with the sunrise and somehow, we will just miss rope drop every am.
