Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hello Beach and Yacht friends, I just wanted to post a timely reminder to be sure that all your travel documents are in order when FLYING to WDW.
~NM

Thanks for being on top of this NM, but it's truly sad you have to post it, and may I personally apologize to foreign travelers to the U.S. for this. Please don't judge all Americans for the current state of affairs. :sad2:

To add to the discussion, I just popped the $85 for a five year "Known Traveler" number, and it was the easiest process. Fill out a quick online application, then make an appointment a week later for an in-person interview. At the "interview," you're just asked to confirm the information you provided on the application, then they take your fingerprints and your money.

Result? Shorter lines, fewer hassles, and it's also applicable for my son until he's 13 (I'll get him his own number then). If you're eligible, I think it's worth it, especially given how horrendous the standard security lines are at MCO!!!!
Welcome to the club.

The Pre lanes at MCO never take more than a minute or two to clear. In addition to the great benefits of not having to remove shoes, laptops, bag of liquids, light jackets, etc., you get to walk through the metal detector, not the full body scanner. You made a great investment!

I'd be interested in hearing if you guys have luck with the dining reservation finder. I tried it but it didn't work for me. It sent a text that it found a resie I wanted, but I received the text 4 hours after it was sent. (If you go back to the website it will tell you when it stopped searching because it found the resie.) I emailed to ask what was going on, and was told that texts sometimes arrive late, and I should google the issue if I want more info.

I've had very good luck with it - I get an email and a text when an ADR is found. It's found everything I've tried it for, with the exception of breakfast at Cape May in June which I'm currently searching for.

Refurb question - so I understand that there are 2 different types of construction/refurb going on right now at Yacht Club. One is the room refurb, which is supposed to be complete later this year, correct? And the other is the convention center construction, which runs until 2018. Is the convention center construction noticeable/loud? Can you hear it from SAB? I want to switch from Beach to Yacht for our November trip if a room opens up but not if there is going to be noise during the day - we almost always return to the resort for a midday nap/pool break.

We never heard any of the convention center construction when we were there end of Sept.

Hi, All! I'm renting DVC points to stay in the BCV in May. I know housekeeping doesn't come every day, so my question is about coffee! If there is a machine in the room, is it old school Mr. Coffee or new pod-type?
Are daily refills provided? Thank you, DVC villas are new to me! TIA, and enjoy your day!

The coffee pots are regular old basket style Mr. Coffee coffeemakers. There will be one pouch of coffee, but it is not replenished daily unless you are on a cash reservation through Disney. Since you're rented points, bring your own coffee and filters as well as cream and/or sugars.

@Tess answered your coffee question. I bring Maxwell House Filter Pak coffee. It is coffee and filters in one. One filter pak makes 4 cups and there are 10 paks per tin.
For a 7 night or less stay you will only get Trash & Towel service on day 4. Here they empty the trash, replace the towels(the only clean towels on a 7 night trip), and replenish toiletries. If you need more you can purchase them for an additional fee or bring from home.

I use it all the time. Have been very lucky.

Just got BOG lunch. From the time of the text to dining confirmation was 3 minutes.

I wanted BOG dinner - that's when the text took 4 hours to arrive! Obviously the resie was no longer available by then.

We got TSA pre check last year. It was the best thing I ever did. My DH has had it for a few years now b/c he travels a lot.
