Is there a lot of that going on here? I haven't seen it mentioned at all.

Really? I've seen that talked about quite a bit on this thread. I guess I could go back and point out specific posts if I had to...but I don't want to. LOL But there are several people who have talked about it. Whether or not they did it I don't know. But they've talked about it.

Like it said, reserve where you want to stay and go from there. Don't count on getting the offer, if there's an offer at all. Every year they put more restrictions on it making it tougher to get. If you can't afford to go without the offer, don't book until the offer drops. I mean, I'm going regardless. I'm having fun watching people lose their minds on this thread more than anything else. :rotfl:

I have the one room booked, going even if FD isn't offered for my dates. I already knew (didn't watch video) that booking in hopes of FD just makes less chance of FD rooms. If the rooms are booked why would Disney offer so many FD rooms.

I did find the video, thank you. It does have some great information in it and I see your concern. I've only seen that mentioned once that someone was even considering double booking so I don't think we need to make a big deal of it. This has been a fun thread and we are kind of having fun "loosing our minds" together.

My dates are set in stone and I'm booked where I want to stay. I may move offsite if I don't get free dining, I may not.
I've been on this board for a decade, booked free dining a bunch of times, know the rules, know all the arguments, know all the info. It's the same as when someone books 100 more dining reservations than they need "just in case". I know which side of that debate I fall on, but I also know that the people who do it don't give a fig that I think they are selfish and rude, so I don't concern myself with it anymore. People will do what they want.

Yep that is what I've done. Got what I wanted in case no free dining then I'll make decisions once it is released. Have to say the rest of the video is common sense. I guess it is for the uneducated crowd. Slightly condescending in parts and slightly hostile.

I think most of us are just having fun. I'm going regardless. If I don't get free dining and get a small (value) room discount I'm just going to pay for DDP anyway.

Agreed!

I'm having a blast losing my mind with all of you. For me it's the thrill of the hunt. But then I'm one of those crazy people who loves teaming up with complete strangers on Black Friday. I always make friends waiting for the stores to open, or camping out for the best seats for movie premiers. I think life is as fun as you are yourself.

Love this. I was trying to find the words for it but you did.

I go one too, but where it says "Unique offer code:" it is blank :confused3 I click the "Get details" and it doesn't seem to transfer a code either :faint: Although I would prefer free dining, I like looking at all of my options!
I didn't really look beyond the word "summer" because we are going in November. I will have to check mine out.

I wonder if they will release it to Disney Visa holders first. I know last year they didn't but I can't remember of they did the year before.

I agree. But I have to put myself in their shoes. I mean, most of us know the pitfalls of FD, you may or may not get it. But to the uneducated and/or the first time visitor who happens to hear about it or see an ad on TV, they want to know why they didn't get it thinking everybody gets it and they got shafted. I can't even imagine how many irate calls they get. Or how many calls or emails they must get pestering them about it. With all of that said, I think the woman in the video (Tracy?) could have really toned it down a little.

Same here--up to 30% off room by 8/31/17--I'm just happy I got a UOC--hopefully it's a good sign for all of us!

I can't tell if you're ranting at me, ranting at others, or both. :duck: Regardless, I agree. :love2:

That really surprised me. I thought that was supposed to be one of the perks of having that card. :confused3 I wouldn't know. I've been trying to get that darn thing for 2 years. I bought a house. Bought a car. But I can't get a Disney Visa card. :scratchin
