Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

@qbmillar, would you mind sharing your room location and what your view was like? Ironically, we are staying at CR CL in May with DS2, and plan to book AKL CL in July, but just for DH and me. I can totally understand your hesitation to be 2 floors away with kiddos!
We were in 4223 on Kudu Trail. It was kitty corner from the elevator, so a bit of a hike. Arusha rock was just a little bit off to the right, which meant there were a lot of people and activity always happening there. The animals were great though!

For 2 adults I think AKL CL would be a totally different experience! There have been some changes to drink offerings since @trishadono was there. Beers were bud light, yuengling, hard cider, Heineken & tusker. There were at least 3 varieties of both red & white wine plus champagne. Happy to help with anything else I can!

Hi, all! We have a BWI and a YC reservation for Memorial Day week. But we cannot decide which one to choose! We have stayed at both resorts before but only done CL at YC. We actually stay at YC quite frequently as it is one of our favorite hotels, but we have been wanting to try BWI recently. I have been reading through all of the posts and the BWI reviews of CL seem to be amazing while the YC reviews seem to be mixed. My husband and I usually make a meal of the evening appetizers so it is important to us to have good options (and a good wine and beer selection too!) we also have a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old. Our kids love storm along bay and my husband and I aren't very excited about the BWI pool. It's just not as fun or exciting for the kids (or for us!) but all of the food in the BWI posts looks amazing! Can anyone give a rave review about YC evening offerings? Does the YC have a chef who prepares things in the lounge as well? I feel like I am leaning towards the BWI for the lounge but in all other areas my gut is to go YC. We will also have a double stroller so easy access is big for us.

I know someone who stayed YC CL this past week. They were happy with the evening selections. I posted in another thread:

.....so far the past three nights the hot app has been salmon (with a sauce on top), 'shaved' beef and poached shrimp (popular) and then....chicken skewers, with the other hot choice being pigs in a blanket. They also had gazpacho that night. Next night was pulled pork over polenta, seared tuna and mac and cheese balls, next night, beef with horseradish cream sauce, chicken nuggets. Looks like they had marinated olives, orzo salad, chick pea salad, green salad, Greek salad, tomato and mozzerella salad, on various nights as well. They also had pb & j cups for the kids.

They did not hear any construction noise in their room. Just a light tapping one day for a short period of time. They really liked the room renovations.

Thanks for the room info and the updated drink list! 3 varieties of wine sounds ideal!!

We just visited the zoo with our son this weekend and all I kept thinking about was how great it will be to wake up and see the animals from our balcony! :yay:

Have pretty much finalized my trip itinerary and am bummed that we will only be at the resort once during Cordials/Desserts for the entire week. Do you think the club level staff would grant a request to plate an assortment of each night's goodies and put them in our room so we can indulge when we get back? Pandora has really made planning difficult. I hope the late night EMH's are going to be worth it.

If you look at the akl floor map on previous page. The rooms in pink are cl and the white are not. The pink are facing inside towards the animals. The center rooms have the "rock" feature in front. The farther down the hall the better animal view. Look at a picture or google map and you will see better. Hope that helps.

This is a big help thanks so much.

It's possible you can get desserts but I have heard that can't do alcohol.

What we do is put breakfast pastries we love and/or afternoon treats in our room in case we get back late. That will work if they say no. Good luck.

Dd asked for champagne and I wine mid day then put in frig for after 10pm . I put plastic on top to keep fresh,

Will Signature Services book your Fast passes? We'll be out of town when our 60 day window opens.

I posted this on the June Discounts thread yesterday but didn't get any bites, so i'm going to try here:

I am super confused about changing my WLCL reservation. I have the summer discount on a CL room for 6 nights in June. I need to change it to 5 nights, but when I try to do that the summer rate is taken away. It allows me to increase my reservation by 1 night while keeping the summer rate, but not reduce my trip by 1 night. Has anyone heard of not being able to keep a discount while taking 1 night off of your trip?? As far as I know there isn't a minimum night requirement to get the rate. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

They made a change a while back where you can no longer just drop nights off your reservation. There has to be availability under the promotion for the new amount of nights. They must not have availability for your booked room type, for 5 nights, under the discount. Some have had luck getting this overridden by Guest Services. But it can't be overridden online or by a reservation CM.

Thanks - I just don't get it. It is the last night of our trip - we just need to leave a day sooner. It wouldn't be the end of the world because the discount is only a little over 14%, but every little bit helps at Disney. I will try calling when I have 30 minutes to be on the phone :)

One last question: is there a different number to call for Guest Services (as opposed to a reservation CM)?

I had no idea about this change either, till I read it on the dis. I booked 7 nights but was not sure if we would need them. I called as soon as I found out about the change. I was able to drop 2 nights with no issue and keep my discount. The agent did not even mention anything about it. She was very helpful. So thankful for the dis!!

Hello all! Popping in to say HELLO and GOOD MORNING from the Grand Floridian! It's spring break!

For this trip we're trying GF SL, so knocking another one off the list. I think with the exception of the suites or places like TongaSo far, we are having a GRAND time! I see why some folks have their opinions on this place, but all in all we are enjoying ourselves. The location is great and overall offerings are just fine. Service and CMs are always hit/miss everywhere, but you definitely run across more CMs that seem to care here, overall.

Something newsworthy this AM... they were making Mickey Waffles at breakfast! Yes, Mickey Waffles!

They had a station setup at the entrance on the marina side and a chef making them fresh. The chef said this is the first day trying this and that it will be every other day or every few days, not a daily thing.

With kiddos I've always kind of wished the CL's had Mickey Waffles so it was great to see this.

We did have chicken skewers for apps last night, FWIW! :-)

Off to Epcot/F&G today. Our first time at F&G.

Lovin' the weather this time of year. It's warm, but not that humid.

Hope everyone has a great week!

I am so incredibly jealous of how often you go to Disney! Enjoy the stay and the GF!

Thanks for the Waffle report! Hoping they get great results.

So we are finally back and settled after our quick trip to AKL CL. Already missing WDW, but happy to be back in a routine!
AKL was only our second CL stay & unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. I think we were spoiled by CR CL and the ease of the lounge on our first trip. We had used the lounge at CR as sort of a living room for DH and I to relax after the kids went to bed. I just wasn't comfortable doing that with the kids 2 floors down and on the opposite side of the lobby. AKL also didn't seem to have the same personal touch from the CM's that we had experienced at CR.
We did have a few positives: the food was amazing and the choices in drinks was plentiful. The ability to have bunk beds was great too! However, I don't think the positives outweighed the negative for us.
I can see why people love it, but it just didn't suit us.

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry you were disappointed in AKL CL, but hope you had a great trip overall :).

Thanks for checking in. Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

Thinking about switching from Poly CL to GF Sugar Loaf for my August trip (my girls think that the Poly will be too busy for their taste). Any suggestions on rooms to request or to avoid in Sugar Loaf?

Good morning! We're booked October 4-9 at WL CL if you want to add us :)

I kind of impulsively upgraded us to CL because I wasn't thrilled with the idea of staying at WL (nothing against the resort, I'm sure it will be lovely, I just had my heart set on somewhere else). We've never stayed CL before (almost pulled the trigger last trip but we ended up with free dining so I scrapped that plan), so I figured if nothing else that would be something I'd be excited about :) Does anyone have recent experience or feedback at CL there? I did see where @GADisneyDad14 enjoyed it, but not much mention of it otherwise. I'm a little anxious so any feedback you have would be great!

I'm sorry that I don't have recent experience. We did stay WL CL in 2012 and absolutely loved everything about it. I know that they have had staffing changes, etc....since then, but I'm sure someone will chime in with something more recent. :)
