HOWEVER - the only week that works for us both is 12/3...Pop Warner week. And we had planned to stay at Sports. How doomed are we?! Anyone gone during Pop Warner week that can give me the good, bad, and ugly? in 2017 we left for home on 12/3 as the football kids were taking over the resort. But, we are really only there at night to sleep.

Who knows, maybe they will upgrade you to keep room for more Pop Warner kids?

we are going in mid December. 2 of my kids are (disney adults) staying for 10 nights.
I've priced it all out and fd is the best deal for us.
I now have $6600 at CBR with tickets 25% off and dining plan. also have gift cards.

I get 2 rooms at pop for $5900 dining upgraded from qs.
If Cbr is FD end even an upgrade it is less again.

I've also checked out the summer discount to check out prices and still not better then fd.
Did you price out how much it would be to upgrade one room the one with 2 adults and 1 child to DxDP. Then share the credits between all family members? Leaving the other room with just QSDP.

Computer freeze! Double post.

So we did FD in 2015 and 2016 (hello to all the 2016 planning friends - long time no see!) and had no intention of doing Disney again this year...until my sister called and said they want to go. So, we *have* to now :flower:

I have been there when PW is there and the parks don't tend to see a major crowd change, some nights with the older kids but nothing unmanageable - however at the hotel it can be rowdy and the food court crazy - but with that said this year PW is staying at Coronado Springs from what I have read/been told.

I did see CS was completely booked that week already, so lets hope that is the case!

We really don't eat in the food court anyway, so I think we will be ok. I'll plan to ask for a room away from the pool and football field again this year and hope for the best!

Thank you. I just checked them and the discounted rate is $309/nt. This is for Christmas week.

Probably true but just for future reference... Make sure at a place like that you are looking at sites that will quote you for a week.

Absolutely! In most other aspects of my life, I am not a huge planner. And any other vacation I take, I usually go with the flow. Not so with Disney. But I enjoy the planning. It's part of the fun of the vacation for me. I like planning out the meals and then planning them out again and again until I get it right. And other than meals and Fast Passes, I don't plan much else. I don't map out the day, minute by minute. But I want to know where I'm eating. And I want to make sure to ride the busiest rides. It would be too stressful to go without any plans in place.

This is me exactly. The planning is definitely part of the fun. When I booked our August trip back in January, I told my family - "lucky you guys, mom is going to be in a great mood for 8 months!" I love the planning and anticipation. When I hear of people going who do not plan, or even do any research, I think, man, they're going to come back with a negative taste in their mouths. I have found in my life (as I'm sure you have too) there are two types of people - those who get Disney, and those who don't. My friends who don't get it think I'm nuts. Thankfully I can come here and find a whole ton of nuts!

That I know. Lol. I was asking if your resort was available 9/30.

Oh- haha sorry! :) No it isn't - I have been trying to add on 9/30 for over 2 weeks now - no luck. I keep checking the website every hour. I can modify parts of my reservation, but I can't change the dates, so I'm hoping if I see it, I can call and snag it. I even tried 2-3 days earlier, still no availability.

I think if you check I need during the promo it will count for your whole stay! Can anybody confirm this?

yup - but I check in too late, I wish it worked backwards or there was a "grace period" or something! haha!

Anyone with experience on modifying a reservation to take advantage of the Disney Visa promotion for FD? Could you modify online, if so how? Or did you have to call? Thank you!

I had to call last year, because there wasn't any availability online. Someone posted a different number for visa (don't remember where it came from) but they were able to get me my first choice over the phone! :)

Funny, that is the same thing I told DH when he said no Disney this year..."if we book now for November, I will be happy for 7 months while I plan and talk to people on the Dis." :cool1: No other vacation gives you that level of planning of excitement!

Any sites you would recommend? This was directly on their website. You can pm me if you can't post here.

Thank you. I just checked them and the discounted rate is $309/nt. This is for Christmas week.

I have found $145 on weeknight, $190 for weekend, $164 average per night for Christmas week. If you want the details just PM me. This is for a 2 bedroom at Bonnet Creek which is in the bubble more than some Disney resorts.

I am having to change my dates to December if the rumors are true and touring plans is reporting super low crowds (except weekends of course), with MK being a 1 on the 7th!! I have seen the talk about pop Warner, but does anyone have their experience with crowds the first 2 weeks of December they can talk about in detail? Us planners like lots of details. :)
I am worried I will book based on crowds and then the crowd calendar will get reevaluated closer to the time when hotels are more booked up. That happened to us in Feb. Booked because crowds were 3-4 and they shot up to 6-7 a couple weeks prior.

Contemporary! I've wanted to stay there since I was 6 - so there is NO way we are changing! :rotfl:I am so excited to be able to go that I should probably stop whining, but it's ONE DAY! AND we will already be there - we were just planning on staying at the Hyatt MCO on 9/30, I'm just kicking myself.... :sad2:

OH NOW THAT really stinks.

How does a room discount compare to the FD?
