Hey guys can you help me? I have had reservations at Port Orleans Riverside starting Sept 30th and already have the regular dining plan on the reservation. Should I change my dining plan to quick service, remove dining all together, or leave it as is? Just wondering which would be best when trying to add free dining online Monday. I will eventually want to upgrade to TS. Thanks
I have the same thing done.......:surfweb:

If you want to upgrade, then leave as is. When you modify you will still be able to select DDP

Ok so when I go to change reservation- just hit offers and hopefully FD will be there to choose.... then I'll just have the price difference in the plans? Sorry I'm new to staying on Disney property and doing the dining I appreciate everyone's help!

yes. I have 5 reservations for my family and I will be putting $200 on each reservation if there is a need to for the Visa.

So group 1 can just say, 'here's my card' and group 2 can call in or hop online and apply it for the discount? Just making sure I understand the proper way to go about it.

Whoever this happened too did not book correctly then. If there are too many kids to fit in one room with both adults and you call to book, it will absolutely be guaranteed. Again, I've done this for years for clients. You have to book it correctly and it is booked as a guaranteed connecting room. Must call to book this way and receive only one reservation number together for the two rooms. If you do not book it like this, then it will not be guaranteed.
@Crissi - I want you to be correct and of course there is no reason for you to post that you've booked guaranteed connecting rooms if you haven't. Clearly there are opposing stories going on and it is just another "it depends who you talk to" Disney frustration. As I said in my original post on this subject. I've talked to multiple CMs, experienced TAs, and Disney experts.....and in all these discussions, I have never been told "guaranteed" connecting rooms. I have clearly been told it is not possible to guarantee connecting rooms. For me, I'd like to know how a TA books 2 rooms for 1 party on 1 reservation number.....would you please "start a conversation" with me (DIS board equivalent of a PM - you will need 10 posts to do this)?

Another question for those that have done this in the past, right now I don't have dining plan on my reservation at all. Should I add it on there before Monday or do I just leave it as is? Will the special offers link show FD as an option if it's available and I don't already have dining added to my reservation?

Thanks
You leave as it is. When you modify your reservation to include the offer it'll give you the updated price excluding the QS plan value and the difference you'll need to pay to keep the regular dining plan.

Thanks so much!!

So I guess I need some help wrapping my head around this...

So if I'm at a moderate, book qs free dining then you can upgrade to regular dining plan? Can you do at checkin? Or would you do that on phone? What would be upgrade cost per person? You could then still make ts reservations?

So sorry if this was explained....Ive ben trying to follow along the best I can
You have to upgrade before 72 hours of checkin...cost around 25 per adult per day

Does anyone know if airfare is historically outrageous on either the day after Thanksgiving (Friday) or the day after that (Saturday)? Or are the really high costs typically on Sunday to end the holiday weekend? Thanks :)

Hello all Disney fans. I am new but have been monitoring the boards for the free dining. First time to Disney with the family wife and an 8 n 4 year old. We are looking to go Sept 29 - October 5. If October is blacked out would we still get FD if we check in on the 29th and have it until the 5th? And just want to check to make sure there has not been ant new revelations since black posted a week or so ago. And thank you for all the information that has been supplied by you fine folks!!

There were earlier posts stating the day after was cheaper than the weekend.

Just leave it for now....whatever you have means nothing unless you want that no matter what. For FD at riverside you might have to take a certain room which means you're moving all sorts of things around.

Crissi is 100% correct on this. Our TA does this every trip for us and we go 3-4 times a year. She gets the guaranteed connecting rooms and they are one reservation number.

If you check in on the 29th, and the end date for FD is the 30th as is the current rumor, you will get FD for your entire stay. It goes by your check in date. Check in before FD ends and it extends through your entire stay.

As long as the Disney visa is used to book or put down $20, it shouldn't be a problem no matter how it is done. But if you are calling, it might be a better idea for group 1 to call both reservations in.

Ahh I just realized I accidently uploaded my Georgetown cupcakes confirmation number to this page! I hope not too many of you saw...i think I was able to delete it. But Yes, I am ordering a dozen cupcakes for $53!!! Lol but they're for charity and have the lilly pulitzer logo on them! I love lilly pulitzer alsmost as much as I love Disney! Haha

We had booked 11/26 - 12/3 last year, and when SW released their airfares flying out Saturday was outrageous. So we added a room only on 11/25 and and flew out Black Friday. Saved over $400 on flights by flying Friday instead of saturday or Sunday.

Phew, I'm trying to keep up with all the posts and I'm sorry if this was covered already somewhere, but we're currently at a moderate (CBR) with a package that includes base tickets (no PH or PH +) and the regular DDP. Should I change my tickets to Park hopper + right now and also change the dining plan to QS? Does that help expedite making my changes in any way on Monday when FD drops? Would love some thoughts!
