Quick question. If Mods only get QS dining free, would we be able pay the difference and get regular dining?

Same question for values? I'm thinking we may move to a value if we have to pay the difference anyway.

Yes you can. $21 for adults and $4 for kids per night.

Seems like so many hoops to jump thru. Room only for the first 3 nights, unnecessary PH & 4th day tickets, TS upgrade charge. Maybe it's just not worth it this time much as I want it to.

It certainly turning out that way for some. Maybe a RO would work better?

Yes, around $20 per adult per day to upgrade.

I would consider booking a two bedroom villa at SSR. You will get the DDP with it and the price difference will be less than upgrading the dining.

I wanted to do that but DH's only request was completely separate rooms from the grandkids so he gets a little break. He's footing the bill so I can't argue!

This is tough! We always stayed at POR, 9 people with two rooms and had free DDP which saved us a ton! What would be the next level up without breaking the bank? WL? AK? The villas are all so expensive . . .

For all you disney pros......which week has less crowds? The week after thanksgiving? Or the second or third week in December? I can literately do nothing else with my life but obsess about this decision right now

Off topic--any of my FD friends been able to snag "the kitchen sink" at Beaches and Cream without reservation?

We waited 2 hours for a table a couple of years ago and we were seated at the counter. There was 4 of us. Since then we always get a reservation.

What dates do you consider third week?

There is a direct bus service between the parks only for an additional cost. $27ish for 7 days from memory. You board the bus inside one park and it delivers you, with no stops in between, to inside another park. So saves going through security between parks and having to stop at DS or other parks on the way to the park you want.

You would have to have ph to make it worth adding on. No point otherwise.
Is that the cost per person for express or per reservation/group linked together ?

I'm so torn right now... I was settled on a preferred room at Pop with my friend. In the past, I've always done Mods with the free DDP with my mom (we've gone every 2 years since i was a CP in 2011). This year, I actually want to do the QSDP because it'll give my friend and I a lot more flexibility and time to do the extras she wants to do that I normally don't factor into the plans.

Here's the thing... I've been fantasizing about POR. I really love POR and I've never stayed in the mansions section. It would be a little more than $400 to upgrade for our 6 night trip. My friend would prefer the trip cost to stay small and I'm thinking about offering to pay the difference. I'm just debating if it's worth it. My part would still stay under the amount I was budgeting when planning with a different friend... but $400 is a lot of money. Thoughts?

I have gone the week prior to thanksgiving and the 2nd week in December and both weeks were pretty similar. I love the holidays in Disney, you can't wrong.

You have the $400? Do you need to spend it on anything else? Do you want to go to POR and have your friend enjoy POR? Then do it.
