Two New Ticket Offers for DVC Members!

My brother is at the MK GS now. He's being told it will cost him $10.65 to upgrade the Gold AP he just activated on Saturday. I still think it should be free but it's still worth spending just south of $11 to remove the blackout dates.

Hmm...that could be it. He had redeemed the 13-month promotional vouchers from last year. Did the price for a Gold AP increase by $10 between then and now?

I don't recall when the price changed but the gold pass was $549 when it initially went on sale in 2015 and did increase to $559 at some point.

I bought our Gold Passes near the end 2016 and they were $549. I'm pretty sure they went up to $559 on the most recent price increase for other tickets February 12th.

My AP expires in Jan, I just got off the phone with a CM and I was advised the following: I can upgrade for free at guest relations and if I renew before Jan 3 my renewal price will only be $475 plus tax. That's an awesome price for a Platinum Plus AP.

My kids will love the water parks in Aug.

I'm in the same boat and was wondering if that would be possible! Excellent news and agreed that is one awesome deal!

I upgraded my pass today and tomorrow is my last park day. I just checked my photo pass pictures and it now appears I don't have them free. I assume since I upgraded today it appears I bought the pass today and not a month ago when I bought the gold pass. Guess I'll need to make a call to photo pass.

I just bridged my and my daughter's UT 7 day hopper to Gold Passes on 6/27. I am back home now from my trip. Can I call DVC and upgrade or do I need to be in the parks?

I called them this morning from my hotel room and they told me I needed to go to Guest Relations at any of the parks. If I was you, I would still call them.

Normally upgrades are only done onsite at guest relations

Already purchased 2 DVC Gold AP's a few months ago for our upcoming trips in August 2017 and March 2018. If we aren't water park folks would there be any benefit to upgrading to the "free" Platinum pass?

If you are a golfer, you can play Oak Trail. Also, no blackout dates.

I'm in the same boat. I have no interest in waterparks, or golf and never travel during blackout dates. So I guess there's no benefit to upgrading. But I guess that saves me from having to wait in line at guest services.:confused3

I have Gold APs that expire March 2018. Our next trip was not going to be until Jan. 7, 2018. Do you think I would need to upgrade to the Platinum Plus before Jan. 3 to get in on this deal or will I be able to wait until Jan. 7?

I just bought gold passes for two of us and the 4 day pass for 2 of us yesterday,

Our FP day was today.

I called DVC to see if I could upgrade the 4 day tix to the 7 day promo because that would change how I did my FPs.

No. You have to do it in person.

So. I called regular WDW ticketing and explained my situation. They transferred me to someone who handles ticketing issues and she upgraded - by phone - my 4 day tix to the DVC 7 day special.

And while she was at it, she'd by more than happy to upgrade the gold passes to the platinum plus passes while she was in my account, if I'd like her to do so.

"Absolutely."

I stayed and completed the survey.

We just renewed our Gold passes back in April. I am going to be in the parks this weekend. I really hope I can upgrade for free. This would let us go to the water parks during our September trip!

Sure you can, no problem. Technically it's a ticket "exchange" like any other. So you're exchanging a $559 gold pass for a $559 platinum plus pass.

I'm going to wear a Volcano Bay t-shirt for all my photo passes this September just because they planned the deal once again to where it didn't help me. :P It's a conspiracy!

I am so glad I checked this thread! We have two more trips planned on our current Gold passes. Upgrading for free to get rid of blackout dates and add waterparks is a fantastic deal.

Sweet! We have Platinum APs that expire at the end of November. We have a trip in October and then April 2018. We were going to just let the current passes expire and get the Plus vouchers to activate for the April trip. Instead, we're going to go ahead and renew before 10/1 for the 13 month deal, taking our current passes to 12/18. Before January, we'll get the Platinum Plus vouchers and activate them next December, covering us through 12/19! This also allows us to add on a Christmas trip in 2018. W00t!

Should we ask to upgrade our current Platinum APs to Plus when we renew (or even now, though we won't be using them for a few months)? Will they do that for free?

Good morning! May I just ask to be certain. I will not be going to Disney until around April 2018. Can I purchase the annual pass but hold it until then? And would it be 13 months from April 2018?

The 13 month promotion is over, except for renewals. The new offer is Platinum Plus for the price of Gold (12 months). If you already have the 13 month deal, and have activated it, then upgrade to Platinum Plus, they appear to be honoring the 13 months. Otherwise, I think it is 12 months. The promotion ends at the end of this year, and the pass must be started in 2018. That's what it looks like to me. Talk to Disney to be sure.
