What is the current time frame for each building makeover, how long did the first one take ? And does the next building seem to be going quicker or about the same ?

Ohh when in February?! We're going Last week of Feb. We were there this Feb and weren't bothered by them. The cheer groups on the other hand... forget about it.
Anytime in February is possible-Argentina is still on Summer Break in Feb,but there will be less and less groups as the month goes along.:)

What is REALLY interesting is having South American Tour Groups AND Cheerleaders at your Resort!lol:)

We stayed at All-Star Sports last January and the College Cheerleaders were there as well as some SATGs-it was very "interesting"!lol:)

I am from Argentina, usually the group tours sold are for the All Stars Hotels, but probably some of them (5%) are going to be at POP. Girls turning 15 going to Disney  :)

Regarding POP new rooms, only Building 8 is finished? Any other building? We are going in September, I have requested the 90s section :cool1:

edit: I confirm our summer vacations are mostly the whole month of January (high season), February (high season but cheaper). March we begin classes.
Winter vacations: 3rd and 4th week of July.
During the rest of the year do not expect big groups.

Regarding the Brazilian tours, I have no idea (possibly same dates). They have 5 times more population than us in Argentina, so expect more Brazilians (their currency is getting stronger against the US Dollar)

Good morning! I am hoping some POP experts can help me. I have never stayed at POP but today I am going to be booking a November 2018 trip for myself, my daughter and my MIL (girls trip). I was going to choose Preferred Pool view which says "views of the Hippy Dippy Pool" does that mean that those rooms are only in the 60's building? I am fine with that building, I just thought it was weird that it's the only pool mentioned on that option. Also, I was reading a few posts up and some people were mentioning that those rooms are super loud at night, so now I am thinking of choosing just a Preferred room. We really want to be close the bus stop. Where on the building are preferred rooms located? My only real choice is a refurbished room, but I assume all of the rooms will be done by 11/2018. I love the new look!
The noise at night wasn't so bad, it was more so the afternoon when they are having activities at the pool and someone is talking into a microphone or playing music.

Hello, I've stayed at some of the other resorts but never at Pop Century. I am thinking of going early June 2018 and I have a couple of questions I'm hoping some of you can help me with:
1) Can you get a cot for your room at this resort?
2) Are there any groups that stay here in early June that I may want to avoid?
I will be going with my Mom (79), my son's mother in law, and then my son and his wife will have another room. I love POFQ and may end up there, but I was thinking this may be a more economical option and I have always heard great things about POP.
Thank you.

Yes I have gotten a roll away cot in my room at POP.

MANY of the South American Tour Groups do stay at POP now as well as the All-Star Resort and also all of the Moderates.:)

At Caribbean Beach,The 15s even have their "own" Food Tent!:)

For years,POP did not "house" The 15s,but that changed several years ago and they stay there now in huge numbers.

We just retruned from All-Star Sports and there were more Argentina Tour Groups staying there than Brazil Tour Groups!

The Argentina girls were really nice-well,except for the "confrontation"" they had with a Brazil Tour Group in the Pool one day!lol:)

There is a new discount that just came out for room-only reservations, but for some reason I can't book it for a one-night stay in December. (We're only staying one night before going to CSR for the remainder.) Does anyone know what the deal is? Is it due to it being only one night? It didn't look like any rooms were available, even without the discount.

Yes, Argentinians don't like Brazilian, and vice versa. ;)

You better don't be in the middle of that "fight". :rotfl2:

I can't stand those 15s groups, they are really annoying, regardless of the nationality.

Thanks for the pic (and the statistics update)

Oh yes,we learned all about the Brazil/Argentina "rivalry" when we were at WDW during World Cup 2014!lol

The 15s are really nice girls,it is just when they ALL get together in the HUGE groups that they can sometimes get "out of hand"!lol:)

About a month ago. The last 2 they had available broke. It was decided over 2 years ago that they were going to not replace them as they broke down.

I'm also thinking that with the new renovations, there's not really space for one in the room anymore. The only place it might fit would be along the front window but it would partially block the door. While I wouldn't be opposed to having an air-mattress partially blocking the door to the room since it could easily be "shoved aside" in an emergency; there's no way I would want a cot/rollaway bed partially blocking the door. Not to mention, it would probably violate fire codes.

Just paid off our trip!!:cheer2::banana:
I'll be doing the same thing this week. Just need to make a stop at Sam's Club for a couple more discounted gift cards and I'll be good to go.

Every morning I wake DS10 up with an update to our countdown. This morning was 40 days! In the typical "tween attitude' his response was "Mom, why do you keep counting down every day? It's not like it'll make the time go by any faster. There's still 24 hours in each day." This earned him the biggest side-eye in the history of side-eye. SMH

I have a standard room magical package for 11/23 - 11/28 in my cart. It's Thanksgiving weekend. How busy is it? Should I pull the trigger or not?

I have never been during that time but it is my understanding that crowd levels reach 8 and 9. They will go down to around a 5 for the 26th, 27th and 28th.

Again this is just from what I have read.

Thanks for the reply. Still trying to decide.

I'd prefer to avoid any large group of teens, 15's, cheerleaders, Pop Warner :scared: during our visits lol.
