New space themed restaurant at Epcot

Maybe you will walk right up to it like you do Coral Reef. No reason it can't have it's own walkway and entrance. Hopefully they will do the entry creative enough you feel you are leaving earth.

They could always build a walkway, but I was mainly joking because it's isolated behind MS. Maybe they will build a tunnel that hugs the side of MS leading up to it with something similar like the queue to Space Mountain.

I do think it could be like Coral Reef, which you kinda go around the building to the side. Lots of folks can't even find that entrance, it's very removed. I don't see that a problem.

But that is just as guess drawing. They could actually bring in more forward like the other poster showed. I hope it's not entered via the attraction, this deserves to be set apart. And if it goes 2 TS it really shouldn't be set off an attraction lobby. This restaurant needs to stand on it's own.

A tunnel would be cool, maybe with a few sliding doors that feel like you are changing chambers and pressure.

Hydrolators? :)
(IMO, the "lifts" at Gringott's are souped-up hydrolators.)

Love these, that could work very well. They need to theme it front door to dessert.

I am ecstatic for this. In fact, most of the changes have me ecstatic. I have renewed faith in Disney.

that's pretty massive (3/4 acre). entering through the MS building would be cool... perhaps some of the work being done now is to accommodate this entrance in the future. Is that small annex south a cast member break room or something?

The break room is to the south. It is actually a trailer and is not connected to the building at all. You have to enter and exit the building and then walk to the trailer.

Intrigued because it is an interesting concept. I can't think of any other similar restaurant.

Between 1998 and 2008, there was a major attraction in Las Vegas called Star Trek: The Experience. It consisted of a flight simulator, interactive theatrical show, casino, and bar/restaurant. The bar and restaurant was called Quark's and it featured costumed characters and wait staff in Star Trek uniforms.

This Disney restaurant sounds more grounded in reality (and thus no aliens). But, that's probably the closest thing to a similar restaurant.

It looks like the space restaurant will be situated similar to The Seas building and "Coral Reef". Which is good because it'll make in feel more like a whole pavilion and not just one crappy ride.

Hopefully they still plan to use the Wonder of Life's building for something though. It has been used for just boring food festival events with D-list celebrities. Its gotten so bad, Carrot Top probably wouldn't even appear at the event. I think they should stay true to Epcot's opening day appearance and rebuild the interior of Wonders. I didn't like the movie, but "Inside Out" seems like it fits like a glove in this building.

I hope they don't take realism too far with this one, as it would not be appealing if the drinks are recycled urine, even if that is what astronauts on long space missions may actually have to drink.
