Don't forget that you and I (and the rest of us on the boards) aren't the common WDW visitor. Most would probably not notice the real differences until check-in.
Sadly I believe you are correct.

Pacman would be the 80's sectionIf we want to be in or see the pac man section and want a new room what should we request for 10/13-15?
I will say either one would be fine but getting both great!
Is that section currently open/ done with remodel?Pacman would be the 80's section
Oh, heck, I hope so! I'm just seeing this, and we've been booked for about a year. My DH, sons and I are staying in an AOA Nemo suite in late October/early November and my parents are staying at Pop Century, preferred room.
We booked that set-up specifically to give them a little space but have them be close by. The plan is for them to walk over each morning and we all leave together; reverse in the evening. A closed bridge would be horrible! Do anyone know anything more?
I don't think there has been any "official" information from Disney on whether or not the bridge would be closed at all during the construction. I'm hoping that no news is good news (meaning I hope since they haven't said they'd be closing the bridge, that it means they plan to keep it open.) I think the fact that they've walled off half of the bridge (lengthwise) is a good sign that the bridge will be open during the project. The path around the lake is still open, but that's a much longer walk and not one I'd want to do several times a day. I'm not even sure I'd want to do it once a day on top of all the other walking that happens at Disney.
I feel your pain, though. We've done the same thing on extended-family visits to Disney -- DH & I and our 3 teens stay in a suite at AoA while our married/in-a-relationship adult kids get rooms at Pop. We all have our space, but we can easily travel together to and from the parks or have meals together at one of the resorts...or have a drink together at the pool bar if needed. We're heading back in June for an AoA/Pop stay and I sure hope that bridge is open.
I'm sure Pop will stay cheaper, but all of the room changes coupled with new amenities like the in-room dining just added (and a gondola stop on the way) will bring the price up closer to the Moderates.
POP does not have in room dining and if they do now when did they add it, I can't find any information regarding this. I'm reading that to mean room service unless that is not what you're referring to. You've always been able to have pizza delivered to your room.
90's section and one building in the 80's are completed and open. The second 80's building is currently being worked on. Should be done fairly soon, I would think. All of the 80's should be completed and open in time for your October trip.Is that section currently open/ done with remodel?
Fairly recently it was reported that a few things had been added to the In-Room menu. Trying to find the exact information.

My understanding is that the back of the menu offers options other than pizza. The menu appears to be a standing style left on the top shelf of the beverage center. It's more than 1 page so I'm guessing may include items such as wings, salads, bread sticks, etc. At least, I've found menus for Pop (and Art) that included those items in the past. I don't have a copy of a current menu. Something I will try to remember to take a picture of when we're there next month.
We just returned from a week's stay at POP, and you know... I saw something on the top of the beverage center, but I never even looked at it! I didn't realize they did any room service except for pizza. I guess I should start being more observant. lol

could anyone on the ground possibly post a picture of the menu with the items and prices? I surely wouldn't spend 2 TS credits on anything but if the prices aren't too bad I might be willing to pay out of pocket on a night that I am really tired.

2 ts credits?!?!? Per meal. Am I reading this correctly? I know the pizza was 2 but i fed a famiöy correct? That is sadOh yes there was a menu in our room last week. I picked it up but .. darn I should have taken pictures of it.
Pictures of it on this site ... http://www.thecastleconcierge.com/renovated-rooms-disneys-pop-century/
Front is pizza and this is inside. No way I would use 2 TS credits but I'd pay cash for them to bring to me if it were raining or DS sleeping.
