Refillable Popcorn Buckets

Yes, they switched from Orville Redenbacher's to Pop- secret about the same time as the refills started.
:crazy2: :sad2:
I noticed the Pop-secret sign and they also changed the oil that they use as well. So I guess I will have to try flavored popcorn, not really looking forward to it, but our DDs will probably like it.

We loved WDW popcorn, so when we went in March we were very excited to buy the refillable bucket until we tasted the popcorn:( Our whole family said that it did not taste as good. I figured it was a bad batch, so later we refilled it and it tasted the same. So I decided to ask and found out that they changed popcorn companies last year. We will give it another shot in November when we go back, because it has been my favorite snack for over 30 trips.

Call me crazy - but, we have favorite spots for the refills - some of the popcorn we had was dreadful, while others were great. The absolute best IMHO can be found at the popcorn cart on main street right before you exit the park and the Canada stand in Canada. I think because these 2 stands have such high turnover that the popcorn is always fresh and warm. The absolute worst refill was the snack stand smack in the middle of Future world in Epcot - yuck, it was like styrofoam

The pop secret popcorn they have is delicious.

But like previous poster pointed out, getting a fresh batch is key

I have this one. Can I use it next month? I'M JUST KIDDING!!!! It's from 2002 and says "Share a Dream Come True" :joker:

Just want to add that I was at the popcorn stand in Epcot Canada and the maple popcorn is also available at the refill price, and I totally agree with the PP that the stand in Canada has the best popcorn in WDW.

Thanks, guys, for these reports. I will be buying two or three of these buckets next month.

This is a win-win for them. They need to move the popcorn so that they can keep popping it to lure in buyers. What smells better than popcorn while it's popping?

IOW, while it's sitting, it's not enticing people with its aroma anymore, and it's just getting stale tasting.

We bought a refillable bucket on our Disney Cruise in February. I'm going to pack the bucket to take with us to the parks next month. Hope it's eligible for refills. Seem to be so many different stories about 'yes' and 'no' so figure all we need to do is ask. If we're told 'no' we'll purchase a new bucket. popcorn::

I was thinking of doing the same thing. We have a bucket from the DCL Fantasy from this past June 2017. The bucket is a "Disney Parks" bucket so I am wonder if we can use it in the parks in September 2017?

We bought our refillable bucket in MK on 8/3 at the Maple popcorn stand in Frontierland. I thought it tasted slightly burned but the kids devoured it. We refilled our bucket around 2x a day over the course of our week, in every park and with plain popcorn as well as the flavored ones. Each refill was $1.50, no questions asked. We loved the sour cream and chive in Epcot! Yesterday our last refill was another order of maple in Frontierland, and it was fresh, warm, and delicious.
