Someone on the Tink FB page left her ID at home (and flew without it!!)...
Yeah that's not generally an issue for domestic flights. There's even info on the TSA page about it. My dad does it when he flies b/c he's locked in some one-sided war with the Californian DMV (and I haven't told him that he could get a passport without having a DL or state ID). He just goes with some extra time and is prepared to chat about who he is.
This cracked me up. He's willing to sacrifice extra time to chat with TSA and airline officials because of his war against the DMV. I feel like the inconvenience of doing so far outweighs whatever he could be getting out of it. To each their own though.Yeah that's not generally an issue for domestic flights. Update: BUSTED!!
It's not in the article (I'm sure a follow-up post is in the works), but the bib thief was caught at this morning's 10K, by Disneyland Security and Anaheim PD after stealing someone's 5K bob for yesterday's race. There's a video. It's amazing.

I'm shocked she actually registered for the challenge herself. Because 1.) I didn't think she was into, you know, paying for races, and 2.) having the bib in her name made her SUPER easy to track, so super easy for the police to know when to be at the finish to bust her.I'm shocked she came to today's 10k after being clearly busted on many social media places because of the 5k pics. Then again I'm shocked she did it in the first place.
I am happy she was busted. I have never seen something like this at a Disney race though. Cops waiting at the finish to bust someone is not exactly Disney-like. Either way she was stupid for doing it in the first place.I'm shocked she actually registered for the challenge herself. Because 1.) I agree that it's not, but to me it's important that they did it. They need to show that this is not acceptable. I'm glad to see that they took this seriously.I am happy she was busted. I hope they do more than the standard "you can't come back on Disney property" penalty.
Me too. She stole a few hundred dollar's worth of bibs (that we know of).I hope they do more than the standard "you can't come back on Disney property" penalty.

I was hoping this as well. I did however read on Facebook that security and police escorted her to her vehicle and made her leave property, which (if true) suggests she was banned as opposed to charged.
so I have a question. there is this disney/universal youtube personality that I follow. She/he did a race a year ago and a video of it showing the number. When I checked that number for the race result I saw it matched the approximate time (to like 10 seconds) of what this person mentioned was their time in the video...but the name did NOT match this person - completely opposite sex. From the video, it was hard to actually see the name on the bib, but the letters were very close to this persons name - but I couldn't tell exactly. Furthermore, the curious thing is that she/he did a video of going to the expo and picking up shirts/bib - didn't actually see the part of the pickup, just the after showing the shirts.
So, I like this youtube channel but it kind of annoyed me that the name did not match the actual person for the clearly visible number. I just can't believe they would actually cheat - but it is suspicious. What do you suggest I do...should I reach out to the marathon investigations dude...it's been like 1+ years for the race. If anyone is interested, and wants to confirm that I'm not missing something, you can PM me and I'll give you the info.
I don't think Disney really cares about people running under other bibs. They took action in the case today because this woman has actually STOLEN other's bibs.Might as well send it to him. He busted one male Disney online "personality" already for having a woman run the half with his bib. He might like to investigate another one.
I agree entirely that she needs to be prosecuted for theft, identity theft and obtaining property under false pretenses. Could they have issued her a summons to appear as part of the escort? It seems like if it was as simple as a ban from Disney property then Disney Security could have handled it themselves without police intervention.

I know a guy who runs the majority of Disney races. He's kind of known to a lot of Disney runners--the announcers often give him a "shout out" pre race, etc. Several years ago he ran a Disney with his own bib, but also put another runners bib underneath--so the timing chips registered as if both were running the race. The problem was, he's a fast runner, and the other runner was a female--his time got her 1st place in her age group! Disney just DQ'ed the results. They certainly didn't ban him or the other person--he has run tons of races since....and has pulled the same stunt multiple times since (at Disney and other races!)
