2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

A couple of notes on PFTS.

You do see every type of dress. I will say that if you have the Wine View lounge it's more dressy then if not. I also would recommend VERY comfortable shoes. Even with reserved seating this year there's still a lot of walking and standing. It's gotten more casual, but you will still stand out in park attire. (I am not saying you shouldn't come in shorts and your Mickey T, I don't care, but I have met some people who seemed very uncomfortable when they realized that most people dressed up a little) For women if you can get away without a purse or a small cross body I would go that route. I would not recommend leaving purses, or any valuables, on your table. Disney did not background check your fellow guests!

One suggestion I got off here that worked well in the past... eat desert first. The lines for sweets are non -existent the first hour and LONG the last part of the party. If you "flip" it around you can avoid a lot of lines. If something has HUGE line, just go get something else. I don't think I have ever seen a location run out of food.

I think I may be losing my mind a little today...:-) Can someone please point me in the direction of the listing/map of booth locations? I feel sure I've seen it posted here, but tried searching and couldn't come up with it!

We live in Titusville, and still didn't have power yesterday (Tuesday). We decided if we were going to sweat all day, we were going to do it at the F&W Festival!

I'm so glad we went. It was the least busy F&W crowd I've ever seen. We typically only go on weekdays, and it was substantially less crowded than usual. We were there from about 11-6:30, and none of the booths ever had a substantial line, except for the German beer booth right before we left.

We rode every single ride without any fastpasses, did the Joy/Sadness and Baymax M&Gs, perused the Festival Center and Mouse Gears, and did 2 full laps around the World Showcase. All in less than 8 hours, and without even doing rope drop! If it had been cooler, it would have been our best Epcot day ever by far. Even with the heat, it was awesome!

The only disappointment was that they didn't have the Corned Beef dish at the Flavors from Fire booth. That was one of my most anticipated dishes this year! Other than that I think all of the booths were fully stocked and ready to go!

Just got back from my first Food and Wine! Oh my god I loved it!! First, the place looked beautiful with the decorations scattered through Future World. Areas like Islands of the Caribbean were beautiful as well with the flowers and fountains. Loved the hidden Remys everywhere. Loved that Figment was in the merchandise (although I wish they had more Remy stuff to buy.)

Anyways, I was in Epcot twice this trip and had 11 different foods at 10 different stands.

Top 5:
1. The Smoked Corned Beef was INSANE! Like, best thing ever! Had it twice! Favorite thing of the festival.
2. The Smoked Beef Brisket was also ridiculously great. I'm a sucker for all things "smoked" so no surprise that these were my two favorites.
3. Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon was exceptional. I don't think Le Cellier is worth the price, but a nice piece of its best piece of meat was definitely worth 8 bucks. Loved the mushrooms.
4. Crispy Pork Belly - I love pork belly anywhere, and this one was delicious. Although Flying Fish has ruined me forever when it comes to pork belly because that still might be the best thing I've ever eaten.
5. Grilled Lamb T-Bone - Great flavor and seasoning but a lot of bones.

Other great ones:
- The lobster roll was nice and refreshing. Better than the ones in Colombian Harbor House but not the best I've ever had. Definitely worth the money.
- Steamed mussels were fantastic. Good price for 4 of them and great breadcrumb seasoning. Love 'em.
- The potato pancake with smoked salmon was excellent. Nice pancake and very high quality salmon.
- The Islands of the Caribbean pastry Quesito was the only sweet thing I got during the festival but was fantastic. The guava sauce put it over the top. So nice!

The Escargot Croissant was a tad underwhelming. Was hoping for something more flavorful but it was fairly bland.

The only thing I didn't like was the marinated chicken from Thailand. I expect Thai food to be full of flavor, and this was just boring. The only thing I didn't finish.

Overall I fell in love with this festival and cannot wait to do it again!

I've also found a fabulous app called WDW Food&Wine it has all of the marketplaces along with the offering and prices. It even breaks it down to dining plan snack credits. Once you check off all of the items you would like to try, it will give you a grand total of what it's going to cost you....

Unfortunately it's only Itunes can't find it in Google Play.

I'm probably having a user issue, but I cannot for the life of me get the filters to work on this ap! I've gone through and marked all my wished for items, but can't get a list of just those items to show up???? I didn't realize I was this technologically incompetent!

Hi all,

In preparation for our trip across the country and my inevitable desire to purchase wine while I'm there, once I've fallen in love with it, I've taken the liberty of pre-shopping the wines from the festival and putting them into a spreadsheet. All in a greater effort to avoid the headache of shipping wine home or dealing with checked luggage, right?

I'm finding that many of the wines are either exceptionally difficult to source, or downright impossible. WA is very, very easy to ship wine into and out of, so I'm assuming it's a problem at the vendor level. Is there any particular place that anyone finds better than others? I'm checking Total Wine, BevMo and Wine.com.

Thanks for all your help!

I would recommend hitting "clear all" and then press "wished for" once. That should make it say "show" next to wished for. Then press "event" in the top left. If you press the filter more than once it hides what you wished for! A little confusing but still better than no app!

And of course if that is what you have been doing all along and it's still not working I apologize! And will join you in drowning your sorrows :drinking1

Do the passport books normally run out before the end of the festival? Not attending F&W until 11/6 this year, hoping they will still be available then. My kids favorite part is marking off all the booths we try.

We were there on 11/9 two years ago and they were scarce.

That worked! Thank you so much! I swear I tried that, but I must have hit it twice on accident or something! Thanks for the instructions "for dummies" :rotfl2:

I have a question I wonder if anyone can answer? Will be heading down to food and wine next week and we're on the Disney dining plan has anybody had any luck converting quick service credit into three food items at the same booth, like previously years?

I am going to Disney 10/9-10/15 and can't wait for F&W now thanks to this thread. I had a bunch of ADRs booked I have now cancelled most of it. Between my AKL CL stay and F&W, that should be plenty of food! This will be my first F&W and MNSSHP. Less than a month away now! I can't wait! Does anyone have any tips of a F&W newbie? Thanks!

Three quicky observations:

1) I don't know if it was a fluke because it was the first week when I went this time, but compared to two years ago, the portion sizes on dishes were huge. That was an unexpected bonus.

2) The wasabi dumplings in Japan were incredible.

3) Avoid the Light Lab unless they've gotten better at it. I was horribly disappointed by it - nothing glowed and the drinks were gross.

I typically go in late October and sometimes they are hard to find. I bought two on ebay about one week ago Someone was selling them for $2.50 each and that price included shipping. I wanted to have at least one prior to my trip so I could mark on the passport the items that I wanted to try.
