Official Wine and Dine 2017 thread

Popping in to catch up here. I only got in 9.3-ish miles on Saturday due to a blister on my right foot.
Super excited to see the draft Event Guide! :yay: Thank you super-sleuths! :worship:

I'm actually at the World this week for a conference, which is awesome except I won't have a chance to run (which is fine so I can let the blister heal a little). Went to see Pandora for the first time on Tuesday...wow, it's beautiful! I'm excited that the Half will go through it, even if it will be tight.

I'm still trying to decide on costumes for the 10K & Half. For the 10K I'll probably recycle my wine print tutu from last year. I find the tutu a bit too fluffy and prefer to wear a Sparkle Athletic skirt for the Half.

Side note - I'm a little bummed because I wanted to go to MNSSHP tonight because it fit my conference schedule better than tomorrow night, but the weather scared me off. I hope tomorrow's weather will be decent and that I'll be able to get an Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket!

Is anyone running the half but not planning on staying to use their ticket to the after party at EPCOT that wants to sell them to me at a discount??? Message me!

here is a weird question... the pacing groups, does anyone remember from last year what corral was the 2:45 group was in? I remember for tink I was in the last corral and the pacer was for 3:15.

I *want* to say that there was at least one Galloway Pacer for that time in H? I think I took a picture of the setup last year since it was the first race to use Galloway pacers ...

thanks... I normally do not pace with them but after doing dopey, I realized if I do more than 1 race, I need a pack :) it worked well with Tink, for the most part, so I was hoping, doing all three races for W&D having a pace group for the half would help me stay not only motivated but on track.

That's definitely a great way to think about things!

The more I think about it ... and I'm remembering it from Disneyland Half a few weeks ago (but don't take this as concrete!) - after, say, 2:20 pacers there becomes more than one pacer for certain times (2:30 for sure, 2:45 and 3 I definitely remember) that are spread out through multiple corrals AND that run/walk at different intervals.

thank you so much!!!! I will just keep an eye out for that morning and hope that I am in a corral that has a pace that is attainable for me :)

There will be a table at the Expo, too! It's usually over by where Jeff Galloway meets! They'll have the breakdowns of the corrals, which pacers are there and even wristbands for the times the pacers will be running!

For some past races I think the information got out on social media as well about pacing groups/times/intervals so keep an eye on that if you're in any other groups as well.

Here's the Galloway Pace groups from Dark Side 2017, which has the same corral number as wine & dine 2017, so it should give you a good idea if they contine with this or at least be similarish I would think. It was posted online (galloway facebook & facebook run disney groups) not too far before so I'm sure it will be for wine & dine.

I can confirm the multiple groups for same pace at Tink! I passed one after a character stop and then caught up to the other. They started in back to back corrals behind me but I was taking my sweet time with photos.

Just a question about spectators as it's the first time that i will have someone coming to see me run...
How they can reach the start/finish zone?
They can use the same buses used by runners (we will stay at pop century) or there are other buses?

Yup! They sure can use the same busses as runners use! There's spectator info in the Event Guide.

Anyone can use the buses

Wait. If I am reading the Event Guide correctly, it is only showing spectator viewing as at the start and finish of all the races. That can't be right?

Those are the areas where Disney offers "official" viewing in the form of bleachers, etc., as well as complimentary transportation for spectators. The parks won't be open, but you'll see spectators out along the Boardwalk and Epcot Resort area ... it's just on your own to get there or be staying there to spectate.

Do you get a ticket for the after party event at the expo when you pick up your bib or how has that worked in the past?

Last year they mailed it to us a few weeks before. If people didn't get them (lost mail, didn't get before they left, etc. ) then there was a spot/table at the expo to go to to get one I think.

According to my TA
"Half Marathon and Challenge runners who have registered BEFORE October 10th in Active will have their gift card emailed and their party ticket mailed to the address listed on their registration.

Half Marathon and Challenge runners registered AFTER October 10th in Active will still have their gift card emailed but WILL NOT have their party ticket mailed. These runners MUST pick up their party ticket at the EXPO."
