Millenium Falcon ride layout with capacity?

I am sure @rteetz knows better than my but my understanding is the MF ride will be more like a motion simulator (so like Star Tours, Flight of Passage, etc.) - except you are in your self contained cockpit with the screens all around you - so, yes, like Mission Space you are with a small group in an enclosed space, but it will feel a lot different and the motion will be by moving the capsule insync with what is projected on the screens

Mission Space, in contrast, rotates the capsules very fast to create the G-force feeling - that will not happen on MF. They are only set up in that circular configuration for the loading/unloading process - so you load into your capsule and during the ride it will make it's way around the circle while they load/unload the others (so sort of like a ferris wheel)

So it will be like mission space less intense? That one doesn't spin, and has screens in the henpit..... the difference will be the continuous load as far as I can see.....oh yeah, and it will be star wars based instead of plain old space.......

I'll chime in here...NOPE. If Avatar is any basis (and as LOL will tell you, it shouldn't be), 2 rides and some "cool other stuff" (as people like to keep saying) won't be nearly enough. They should've gone 3 rides, plus a show (they could figure something for this...get Ewoks in to dance for the kids), plus expansion pads. I'm in agreement with both you and LOL that Disney probably doesn't realize what they have with this fanbase. Universal seems to realize they need to keep expanding their Potter offerings (because Muggles clearly can't get enough magic), I hope that Disney sees it quickly...or else people will only be able to see SWL via some special admit/deal where you pay $500 for two rides and blue milk.

Toy Story Land will be great but I don't know it will spread out the crowds that will come with Star Wars. According to Touring Plans, there are 21 "attractions" right now at DHS, and 62 at MK. Now many of these are shows or meet and greets or even different stations on the railroad, but that's almost 3 times the amount. DHS is only adding 4 to the roster from earlier in the year, and that doesn't account for the ones lost already (the Honey I shrunk the kids play area, the Lights Motor Action show [huge crowd eater], backlot tour) over the previous 2-3 years. If I had to guess, I'd wager an increase of 500,000 or more at DHS when SWL opens.

My nominee for post of the week

Assuming, that the giant, overflowing crowds swarming Pandora were a surprise to Disney, I don't think they could have learned anything from that in time to incorporate that into Star Wars Land's design - because the overall design for SW:GE was already done by the time Pandora opened.

What they might have learned, as others have mentioned, is that they need to charge a premium to enter the land, at off hours, to allow you to experience the land less crowded.

That's pretty funny...I'm that dude that somehow gets overlooked and never getting served in a crowd. Like ever. I'm invisible...and let's just say I'm not "short" by any stretch.

Do I think they are equipped for a Star Wars crunch?

Not at all...neither Disneyland nor wdw.

Now they're close to outgrowing their shoes and I don't think have neither the infrastructure nor manpower to handle a real boost. Like 3-5 mil additional.

2. Outprice enough people to keep it manageable.

How do you think they'd view those choices?

I thought it was my perfectly average height that made me invisible...back to any other number of real reasons and needing dates to shows in order to get a drink.

I forget about the DL issue and that it's 50 acres smaller than HS with a zillion great attractions they can't exactly get rid of. The number of attractions may disperse the crowds better, but at some point, there is only so much available pavement. With the number of locals, and demand, crowd control is going to be bonkers.

If SW moves the needle that much, all the parks will get a fantastic boost, but god, the general crowds that everyone complains about now will seem like picnic.

Do you think the gondolas will help with SW crowds, or just generally moving folks around? I don't really see that providing that much of an overall crowd dispersal, although I do they'll be neat. How many people will actually use them though? I can't imagine I ever would, but again - they'll be neat.

I think your point about outpricing people is going to be very real. Pay more to get on the rides - like SWL VIP groups, plus the hotel, plus viewing parties, special extra magic hours...who knows how many events they'll figure out, and how many I'd be willing to be pay for:)

TSL and the new MM ride as a PP mentioned will help I know. In my head, I'm going to be getting in line for SWL the minute I step out of the Swan...like that's where the line for HS will start...

Yes...and what a delightful happenstance that scenario you laid out will be...

I'll wait 6 months before going.... it should settle out by then..... I don't think there are as many of you as you guys think.....

There's never been a fan phenomenon like Star Wars....

The only thing "bigger" is probably disney...

...in double the time.

Universal was aggressive in trying to feed the potter crowd...been around 20 years...

...stay tuned.

I guess-- star trek was really big too wasn't it? ..... not much of a difference in the material........It will depend on how deep the pockets are of the fans...and how much they pick it to death. It might not get much love. "What did Luke actually mean when he said......"... ... It was a written line and he was directed on how to say it....... he wasn't thinking anything......

Star Trek has a loyal fanbase...but Star Wars brought sci fi and modern Hollywood to the masses around the world.

The licensing...just ip leasing of Star Wars products to manufacturers is getting close to $100 billion if I calculate correctly...

Nothing like it.

Nobody that likes Star Wars really approaches the level of a drama critic. It's flawed in many ways and always has been...

But compared to todays Hollywood? The writing/acting look like arthouse film.

May I remind you that the have made 8 fast and the furious movies?

And I left the first laughing from
The PI amc cause it was so stupid...

Yes, I learned about this MF capacity theory somewhere online/video. It may make sense based on dimensional modeling projections.

Interesting side note: I confirmed with a CM bus driver that the new entrance to HS is going in across from AoA.

Yep...connected to Epcot by the channel that goes to the International gateway from Caribbean

No real mystery there, this has been known for quite some time. You can see it here in a recent aerial from bioreconstruct on Twitter.

Woah...wires crossed...what "capacity theory" are we demonstrating here?

It was a response to "Interesting side note: I confirmed with a CM bus driver that the new entrance to HS is going in across from AoA." not the capacity theory part.

I never said it was a mystery nor that it wasn't already known to some. I was merely stating that a CM bus driver confirmed it.
