would anyone seriously heckle a animatronic president? yep!

I think it would be VERY alarming to most children. I’m no Trump fan, but there is a time and a place for protest and Disney isn’t it. Disney World should be a magical place for kids where they feel 100% safe.

I don't support the heckling, but how would this be "VERY alarming" to children? How would it make someone feel unsafe? The person wasn't threatening violence. Talk about being over sensitive.

When someone disrupts something for that length of time by yelling, wondering what else they'll do can be pretty concerning. I know, I ride a subway in a city.

At any rate, Disney has the right to remove someone for causing a disturbance. From the show, or from the park if they keep it up.

Cheering or booing when a president is announced, that is one thing (I remember a group got together once to cheer for Millard Fillmore), but chanting throughout the animatronic president's speech is something else. If he yelled it once, different. He apparently yelled the same phrase repeatedly while the robot was talking.

time left till this thread is shut down...there's no way this will end nicely

Regardless of where you stand on politics, I'd hope we can all agree that heckling an inanimate object ranks pretty high on the idiot meter. All I could think of when I saw this story was:
View attachment 290775

Reminds me of the Itchy & Scratchy Land episode:

"But Marge, I was a political prisoner!"
"How were you a political prisoner?"
"I kicked a giant mouse in the butt! Do I have to draw you a picture?"

They escorted him out of the venue. Screaming at robots, security coming - it would be very alarming for my children.

How silly. If I was a parent in that situation, all I would have to do is say, "He talked during the show, and they are taking him for a time-out" and it would be fine. But if as a parent you get upset and act like something traumatic happened.. THAT would be what worried the children.

Also scary for little kids who don’t understand what’s going on.

And why? lol. Nobody is arresting the robot.

Per this person's tweet: "cuz I was never getting this close to the real thing probs". (I have trouble taking anything serious from someone who uses "cuz" and "probs")

I know some people that would feel it is there duty to demonstrate that they don't accept that he is President (though I think most would just avoid the attraction) but also just see this as a cry for attention

Honestly, based on the level of protests seen elsewhere and the violence that has developed at many, internally I would be worried that something ssimilar might happen - so not so worried about them hearing someone shouting something, more worried about someone yelling at the first person and then is escalating). Externally I would hope I would stay calm and try to minimize it to my kids

Yes. There were cheers and boos for Obama and GWB plenty often before this latest incarnation of the show. Unfortunately people can't seem to leave their politics at the door and respect the show that celebrates not an individual, but the office of the President of the United States.

I'd already given up on HOP due to my last couple of experiences with the audiences being insufferable. I have 0 interest in hearing even more adults yelling at inanimate objects moving forward. I was hoping they'd go more toward the direction of DLR as it seems less problematic for the general public. #sucks
