DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

I ain't running. That's why i play tennis. :lmao:
Yup! No running involved there at all!

Kidding aside, I will (would) play soccer or football or whatever... sports involving running. But... just running? Nope.

Feb 4 is Superbowl. Run out the calories before all the food?
Feb 5 is effectively the Superbowl for some of us , but I'll still be on the wagon unfortunately.

Tried to find a Minor League Game for me & the boy for the southern trip, but nothing doing, anywhere we are, the locals are on the road. Hey ho. Shame, because he is dead into it at the minute. I see a Wrigley trip in a few years time.

Happy Monday. Still cold here, but warm enough to rain. It should be cold tonight and freeze everything. I see school closings in the future.
They closed ours here because we were SUPPOSED to get freezing rain. Didn't rain until around 1pm and it isn't freezing (thank you Lord).

We are waiting on 90 days for the FP+ in June. We've noticed park hours change over the years when planning 6 months out. Maybe they will get it right at 120.
Ummm...how did you manage to get FP+ at 90 days instead of 60?

When you plan the Wrigley trip, let me know. As you know, I'm a life-long Cubbies fan, so we could do a combo DISmeet and Cubs game.

I knew what you meant. Yeah, i never understood the running thing though.

True. The Superbowl is in the future over there. We usually do a good food spread. Don't care much for the game itself as it's not very good or pre-scripted.

Whatever day it is. I can't remember all those details.

I think this is only the third year in 12 that I won't be in the US or Canada for Superbowl. There are fair few events, and quite a few of the teams have designated pubs in London where all the fans congregate, so that could be an option if the missus could take the kids to school on the Monday. I might jump off the wagon for one night. As for the games, yeah I'm with ya.

see ya there! I've given up with him on the "you saw the Mets for your first game, that should be the team you should support" He wants to follow the Cubs because I do, so I'm cool with that.

Or just follow the Cubbies, because well, it's the Cubbies...the best team in baseball.

Sorry, is my bias showing? :lmao:

As a tribal soccer supporter with a huge "glory hunting" chip on my shoulder, I'm a bit funny about supporting teams just because they are good. I won't bore the guys as I've banged on about it at length before. But GO CUBS!

Morning all from London. Got to have a go at my side drain today, just waiting for the rods to turn up. Oh the Glamour. If I can get it done, that's about 250 in call out saved.

Happy Tuesday. We made it above freezing temps here, which is really great, but not as good as moving south for the winter.

I knew that you knew.
But did you know that I knew that you knew? You know?

They are who we thought they were.

Thanks all for the birthday wishes for DW. Ended up taking the family out for supper.

Got a bit of a scare afterwards. DW's father hit an icy patch on the road, rolled his truck. Thankfully he was OK, was the only one in the vehicle, and amazingly walked away from it, but the truck is likely a write off. So DW was a bit upset of course, put a damper on any more birthday celebration.
Winter driving sucks, even around here when we are supposedly more used to those conditions. Anyway, it could have been much worse, so I'm just thankful it turned out the way it did.

Superbowl is the only football game I really watch all year. I guess just because of the spectacle it's become. I do enjoy indulging in some treats during the game. I'd say get off that wagon, Dan, and join the rest of us!

Phew. That was close. Good to hear he is OK.

So you're like the Devil on the shoulder in National Lampoon's Animal House. Good to know. Especially if we go drinking. Or end up in a frat house.

If I was in the States or your fine neck of the woods mate, I'd be in, and as gluttonous as everyone else. Not really up for Chicken Wings on my Jacks at 1AM. I may have a cheeky bourbon or 2.

Alas, the last day here. A few of us got together last night in party room 2.0 to watch the game. Nothing funnier than watching Adam (die hard Bama fan) watch this game. Lots of laughs and a good time was had by all. We are off to AK in a bit to ride the Pandora flight thing. Not sure the ribs will like it but I want to see it. Tonight we may hit the MK or try to get to the Contemporary to go to the Top of the World lounge.

Man is that scary. Glad he is OK.

Glad to hear he's OK. I hate icy roads and we have lots of them right now. That is my big worry about DS driving by himself.

Watching Adam during that game would have been fun.
