Which resort for a baby and a toddler if you want a slower paced trip?

What deluxe resort would you do for a week long trip with a baby and toddler (both boys) if you wanted to do theme park in the mornings then pool and resort after nap everyday and then head out to table service dinners? Want to look into going next spring, at a quieter week since we don't have to worry about school schedules.

Breakfast at resort
7-12:30 Get up and head to parks
12:30-3 Nap at hotel
3-6 Pool and resort time
6-8 Table service dinner

I know the Poly would probably be fabulous but the prices are almost twice the other deluxes no matter what dates I put. Is this just me having trouble searching or is it significantly more expensive than the others? I'm getting around $400 for most deluxes and $700+ for Poly. Also, be honest, would you feel like it's a waste of tickets to only do half days at the parks? I just want to plan so we wouldn't get burned out.

We LOVE the Boardwalk Inn, because it is slower paced, laid back....
Having said that, their pool is kinda creepy and we never take time to swim.

This trip (next month) we are staying at the Beach Club & the one after that (March), I’m staying at the Yacht Club with my oldest son. I’ve toured all of the resorts & think they are all equally beautiful & the atmosphere (pretty much) comparable. Storm along bay is a BEAUTIFUL pool, too. The Boardwalk area is my favorite place to be. (It’s also a bit cheaper than the monorail deluxes)

With young boys I would book Beach Club if you want deluxe or a AoA car suite. Both pools are awesome but the theming at AoA might be better for boys.

I haven't yet stayed at any of the resorts you're considering, so I can't answer that specifically, but I'd just like to say that I don't think your schedule is "a waste of tickets" at all! Kids that age would be likely be hugely tired out by a "commando" trip, and they'll love the pool time! As long as your kids are already used to a later dinner, I think that schedule looks fine.

I would consider SSR (and also consider renting DVC points).

SSR is quiet, peaceful and pretty. The pool in the Paddock area has a nice slide. Plenty of kids activities and the proxinity to DS is pretty outstanding. You could pop the kids over to make their own t-shirts, play in the archeological area at T-Rex or for a treat at Goofy's. My kids LOVED going to DS.

I would consider contemporary. Walk to MK or monorail in your resort. Good food options (except Chef Mickeys ) and better prices than poly.... which I love but just can’t afford anymore. Consider the garden wings rooms at CR and your prices are even better.

We are not park commandos and our kids are grown. Enjoy the resort and pool area with small kids and relax.

I just got back from BC and would NEVER suggest it for a slow-paced, relaxing atmosphere.

If you don't want to do the poly, i would do WL.
Agreed. Stayed at BC once and unfortunately never again. The pool is the only thing they have going for them.

I would not do the Poly if you have kids in a stroller. You have to use the elevator to get to the monorail and I'm pretty they still only have one set of two elevators. When I took my mom in a wheelchair we waited forever to get on an elevator. For a laid back vacation I would do AKL or WL.

I’m not discounting your experience at all but you can say the same kind of thing for having to fold/unfold strollers every time you get on a bus. I love AKL but I can’t say I loved getting the baby out of the stroller every time :)

We stayed at Contemporary in the Garden Wing with a 2 year old recently. We loved being able to walk to MK. The pool wasn't our favorite, but being able to walk to MK made up for that.

We were there over Xmas/NYE and we never waited long for the elevator (we had a double stroller). I love poly with a stroller because there is no crowded elevator to get to your room (versus contemporary or WL).

The Contemporary. You are an easy stroll away from the Magic Kingdom.

I'd stay away from the Beach Club. It is nice enough, but in no way peaceful.

Interesting, I definitely didn't realize that the Beach Club would be more hectic than a lot of the others. I know you cannot avoid major crowds but was hoping that pool and resort time would be a nice break from the craziness of the parks.
