New 2018 TIcket Prices

I just wish I had stocked up on more back when I could.....I'm at the end of my wonderful NE supply (first world problems)

Isn't that the truth! Somehow I missed the memo about the no-expire option going away. Had I realized that, I would have bought 3 or 4 10-day no-expires before they vanished. Traditionally, I have gone for long weekends with 2-3 park days and the NE option made that very affordable. I was sad when I used my last NE day back in the fall of 2016.

I have 1 day left on a non-expiring 10-day park hopper that I bought for less than $500 a number of years ago. I need 1 more day for early December, and was debating between buying a 1-day ticket or a Christmas Party ticket. A 1-day Epcot ticket for Dec. 2 went from $113.96 to $121.41! I think I'll enjoy the overpriced Christmas party instead!

I bought two 6-day tickets last month and they don't show an expiration date in the app or the web page. But the confirmation e-mail stated that they expire 12/31/2018.

Correct.

Is there away to see the expiration date in MDX for tickets ? Only AP's have a date (that I found).

But they still expire at the end of 2018, which renders the savings useless for trips beyond that date.
Yes, absolutely useless if you aren't travelling this summer. We are going to be there in August of 2018, so quite useful for us, and anyone else whom might be visiting sometime during the next 10 months.

What is the Platinum pass renewal price now? I think a 70$ increase is insane!

I am also looking for this info. Can't find it anywhere.

The only way I know for you to check is
if you already own a currently-running AP, click open the AP page HERE
and when that page opens, click on the "Renew Now" button.

So sad.

And that was when NE meant NE. I never got to use one of those. Dvc APs made more sense for the multi trip years. Now it’s all coming to a close for us, it seems.

I remember the days when you could get a premium AP for 375. I'm sure people remember less but we bought dvc in 1999 and went tons in the early 2000's until 2007 or so. The break even point was about 10 days if I remember so I never really bought those 10 day tickets...we were going about 3 times a year. Cheap flights ($69 round trip), DVC and APs that seemed so reasonable even at the time. I just bought the gold ones, nearly $600 with tax (pre price increase). I was holding 4 day one park tickets non expiring I paid $668 for both for before the last price increase. We're going for a few days before a 4 day cruise but when I started thinking about the cost of those 4 days I decided to plan two trips 11 months apart and then take the next 2 years off and do something else. I started realizing what a 7 day parkhopper would be + what I had sunk into tickets already and decided it would be better to do it that way even though I had been trying to space my trips more like 18 months to 2 years. My next trip will be almost free with tickets and room paid for.

In a shocking twist of fate, my husband still thinks the AP is a good deal even though it went up $70. There's hope for him after all.
Ugh! I DID get the AP already...but only got hubby the 5 day ticket via UCT, thinking we would upgrade him when we're in the parks in October. Now I really wish I had just gotten him the AP to start with!

Quick take- WDW increases seem to reflect the notion that APs were previously a bit undervalued. Makes the math a little bit harder for 2-trips-per-year folks who previously bought APs in lieu of MYWs.
I shall wait to see about this. The AP was a better deal for me almost right from the start with just an 9 day hopper. I always get MM anyway so that pretty much sealed the deal. We hope StarWars land will be open before my AP expired in October 2019 which would give us 2 fairly long vacations within the year. Of course, i just "threw in" another 6 day trip in mid-December for the decorations ;)

If your pass is not in the window for renewal, which mine isn't, you can't get that information.

Update: Just found it, I think, on allears.net - $721.00 -> $767.87 w/tax, so up ~$62

I honestly believe i am finally priced out of the annual pass.....I re-upped last year under protest, but I just cant fathom paying that much. especially considering it looks like there is no longer a discount for DVC on the gold pass

As always, the prospect of locking my entire life of future vacations... with a never-ending yearly payment system...
to ANY corporation, and that corporation being able to control every aspect of those vacations and change the rules and pricing
as the time goes by...

Nope.

I don’t know much about DVC, but it seems like the value of DVC ownership has the potential to go down if ticket prices continue to rise at a higher than expected level. Perhaps the similar rise in Deluxe Resort prices helps mitigate the impact on DVC to some extent.

Disney has a big pair to spin it as "this will help crowds as there will be less people."

We are raising prices for your own good.

There are other options folks. Look around.

There really is no "value" in DVC beyond the value to the owner personally....the ability to stay in better resorts...I can still find great personal value because i paid $72 per point in 2000 as opposed to the almost $150 folks are paying now....to me, DVC as its priced now along with the pass prices, has become something very difficult for the middle class to afford.

My wife and i talk often about resort only vacations once our last child is out of the house

well of course.....it will weed out the "undesirables".....I know that may be a bit strong, but who are the folks it will weed out?

Also, if you are like my wife , a teacher, whos vacations fall on most of the restricted weeks for a gold pass, it forces us to take vacations in the heart of the summer furious:).....as opposed to christmas week that we used to do every year.....so they were able to weed us out
