The more specific you are, the smaller your available pool of rooms. So I would not request a specific building or floor. I would just request renovated connecting rooms. I have requested renovated room, and nothing else, for my last three stays and I have been in a renovated room each time.

Thank you! :)

Is having a tub one of the requests available? I will be travelling with a 2 year old so just shower wont really work for us.

How loud or not loud are the first floor preferred pool view rooms? We're paying for a preferred pool view and love the convenience of walking out and having the pool right there, but will it be super loud? I know a pool side room will automatically have more noise than a non pool side.

As i'm typing i'm thinking, what if i just requested the highest floor...does that make a difference? I mean its just a few steps lol

My thoughts are that if you request a first floor preferred pool view room you are likely to get a lot of foot traffic walking outside your door. Many people use the path in front of those rooms to access Classic Hall and the buses. Yes, there can be pool noise in all of the preferred pool rooms (especially in the afternoon when activities are run) but to me the foot noise of people chatting while walking would be a greater concern.

I thought about that, and it looks like there's a fence around the pool now (last visit to Pop in 2011) so it wouldn't be as easy to just walk out to the pool from a first floor room.

If my memory proves correct, there are 3 entrances to the Hippy Dippy pool. 2 on the sides, towards the back near the Play Doh and Jungle Book icons and one at the bottom of the stairs if you've come from Classic Hall.

What are the renovated room’s heating and air conditioning controls like? Is it one where you set the temp and it stays like that? Or is it one of the newer energy saver types? (Ones where if you don’t move around in the room it shuts off)
We stayed at Kidani Village and woke up drenched in sweat throughout the night because the AC only ran if you were moving in the room. Never again!
Thanks!

We had a first floor pool view room last August. I loved the location. Yes, you heard more people out and about but nothing that really bothered us. I’d request that section again.

We enjoyed having an umbrella table right outside our door. I’d get breakfast from the food court and we’d dine outside. It felt like we had patio space :-)

We were there 2 weeks ago and the room was always comfortable. We’d be at the parks from open to close and yet when we got back the room was the temp we’d set it at. In our case I believe it probably kept switching between heating and cooling as it was in the 40’s sone nights and 80’s some days.

Wow...drastic temp differences! We are off in 10 days and so excited! Deciding what to wear for the day will be the biggest challenge, cool in the a.m. and hot during the day. But....no matter what it won't be like it was when I went in June! Too hot for me.

We found layers to be best. Either Capri pants or jeans with a t-shirt. We would wear a hoodie in the morning and evening when needed. Needed far less clothes than during the hot summer months I found.

Additional tip, we wore tennis shoes each day which it's normally too hot to do when we go in September. The one thing I would pack next time is more socks for each of us. I ended up washing socks in the sink half way through our trip as we were wearing them every day.

Great tip...I just bought a bunch of new pairs. Thanks.

This is my suggestion too! What I've done on those days is rent a locker to store my sweatshirts/light jackets during the day. It can be a bit of a hike to get there and back but I liked the freedom of not having to carry them all day, but having another layer I could add if I needed. I will be at Pop the last week of October into November so I will be bringing layers just in case!

We rented a locker last week in MK and I have no idea why I never did before! It was so nice having a place to store all our stuff. We used the train to take us to the lockers mid day when it started to get warm. It worked out perfectly.

Last week I shut off the thermostat in our room. We were very comfortable in the evenings since the temps dropped. I believe it’s the same unit as before you should have no problem adjusting the temperature.

In all my trips, I had never really used them before 2015 either! We went for NYE 2014 and I did not bring a jacket...huge mistake! I spent a pretty penny on a hoodie, and it took me literally an hour to even find one in my size since it seemed like everyone in the park made the same mistake. December 2015 was pretty warm but I still was chilly in the morning and at night so the locker worked out great. I seem to rent one every trip now for packages, sweatshirts, everything! I think they're super beneficial and since I'm a fast walker I don't really mind running back and forth at Epcot etc.

When we were there I decided against renting a locker and I will say 1 day I sure wish I had! It started out raining so we had 2 rain ponchos in tow. It was also chilly so we had 2 hoodies. By 11am we didn't need any of these so I packed them all into my backpack. While it wasn't heavy as backpacks go, it was bulky and a pain on some rides. Looking back I can see it affected my day and I wish I'd rented a locker. Next time I will for sure!

Quick update on security checks at Pop. Here now, and dh and I have to work today in the room. Yes, sadly working on vacation! Anyway, we don't have the room occupied sign on the door. We had a knock on the door around 10am this morning with some ghirardelli chocolates, thanking us for being returning guests. Very nice! Then at 1pm, another knock on the door by a gentleman asking if we needed towels or anything (we had declined housekeeping at check-in). We said we didn't need anything at this time, and the man left (didn't come in the room). I don't know if that was it for the security inspection? Had he asked to come in, we would have let him, but he didn't ask. I'll post again if anyone else drops by to say hello! lol

I didn't even think about that, that sounds like it would be cool!!!!
