Gotta agree! You only get to the Stanley cup finals one year at a time. It doesn't matter how long you've been in the league or how many times you've been there before. It's what you are doing now, this year that gets you there. Or not get you there. I'm a Sabres fan, we've been rebuilding for years. Vegas is in the finals while we ended up dead last. It's because their players worked way harder than ours did. I'm loving watching this series. The pace is amazing. I can't imagine the Sabres ever playing like this. This is hockey!!

How many of us wish we had placed a little money on Vegas last fall?!

If Vegas wins, I'll wish I'd placed more than 10 bucks. If they lose it was only 10 bucks.

I thought of you during it and knew you would have hated it.

I did think “only in Vegas” but not nessecarily in a bad way.

At the beginning of the season, analysts and bookies were saying they had "virtually zero chance" of making it to this point. No one even thought they'd make the playoffs--they were pegged to finish last or second to last. But through simply excellent coaching and play, a team of what was believed to be second rate players that weren't valued enough by their original teams to be protected has a chance of hoisting the Cup. I don't understand how anyone who loves sports couldn't respect that, even if you're not personally rooting for them.

If they win I foresee a movie sometime in the future about it.

I don't have a problem with a team in Vegas. I live in a non-traditional hockey market in California. I enjoy a short pre-game show, but the Vegas one was overblown, way too long, and just plain stupid. I'm all for the drummers and stuff, but the lame skit just has to GO. It was embarrassingly stupid. They can take the stupid cheerleaders with it. Cheerleaders do NOT belong in hockey nor do scantily clad ice girls. BARF.

Not the poster you quoted by when you go to figure skating you expect to see...figure skating. The costumes are a part of the show. I even think they get marked for appearance or something like that (I could be 100% wrong though)

They do get marked on their costume (so the skater at the Olympics whose back clasp broke not only lost marks for the effect on her skating (while trying to stop her top coming off) but also for the class breaking itself.

Hockey doesn't need a T & A to keep people entertained - leave that crap in basketball and football.

I don't care if they are grown women. I take my daughter and she doesn't need to see women as decorate ornaments doing a job they could just as easily do in less revealing clothing. There is no reason for them to be dressed that way. The guy that scrap the ice wear athletic clothes - why do the women's uniforms have to be revealing?

It is not necessary in ice skating to wear such skimpy clothes in order to complete their jumps and the like. I've seen the guys skate in a tuxedo. They're wearing skimpy revealing clothes for the exact same reason the cheerleaders are. To make themselves look more flattering. Any difference is in degree. Let us not pretend otherwise.

The point is that it is industry standard for women to be dressed that way while performing in ice. Add to that that they are in Vegas where it is also the norm. I do not understand your surprise.
The NHL knew what they would get when they gave a team to Vegas, if you don’t like it, don’t watch their games.
I have no issues with other women using their assets to make money, they are not being forced to do it. And if people protest against it, like the did the F1 girls who then had no job, you aren’t helping them.

I go to a hockey game to watch the PLAYERS perform, not watch girls skate with a shovel. I guess that's the difference between you and me.

My boyfriend put $5 on them to win the Cup back in August--$5 to win $755 at Caesars Palace. He was going to put $50 and the betplacer literally heckled him and he relented. He's sooooo pissed now that he backed down! He placed another bet on them in March, but obviously that has less favorable odds.

Yeah - my team recently won THREE cups in 6 years. I have so much to be jealous of...

FWIW - my team has stupid ice girls too and I think they are just as ridiculous as all the other teams ice girls. Ooooohhhhh!!!!!
