DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Thanks - I like it and it's someplace to put my "Dad" pins. A bit of a grandpa hat but what the heck.

It looks good though. I've never been much of a hat guy as I can't find one I like. Baseball hat makes my head too hot. The one with the mesh is better for airflow, but still not great. I tried some others with the brim and different material, but just couldn't find one I liked.

'Morning all...
Good news in our house yesterday. Sort of...
DW did not get let go by her employer.

Unfortunately...
They did drop the other gal that she worked with in favor of bringing on a management company and having her run everything else on her own. Needless to say, my girl is both spooked and right apprehensive.

Almost 24 hours between posts? Is the end of the world near?
Top O the Mornin Dads! Hello, anybody there?

I’m with Norm, where did everyone go?
Was wondering that myself...
S'pect that life just got in everyone's way (know it did for me lately).

Sorry to hear that. I'm glad she is still employed, but I can understand why she would not feel at ease.

Happy New Brunswick Day All!

Take the day off and celebrate with us.
I hope you enjoyed the day. Most of the country gets the first Monday of August, but we like to be different in Newfoundland (as if the 1/2 hour time zone wasn't enough). I had last Wednesday off for the Royal St. John's Regatta. Still enjoyed the day off work though.

Morning compatriots, from a Sunny and 90f London.

Some good news this morning, the Doc was pleased enough with my progress I am now out of the boot, and into trainers only, a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. I have a slight infection in my scar, so on the antibiotics for a few days.
Back last night from Cornwall, we stayed over at the in laws for a night to break up the journey. Steak Tacos on the menu tonight, with a little Chipotle chillis to keep the nippers on their toes. They're out at a cartoon drawing lesson at the local library. I think there has been 1 day so far where they haven't done anything, so they are living the life.

On another plus note, I rented out all my points, and Disney gave us a refund on the tix, and the points pretty much paid for Rome. Ker-ching.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Hello, anybody there?
Morning sunshine. Good weekend? How were the steaks? Ribeyes? Porterhouses?
What is it with everyone and Tomahawks at the minute? My FB BBQ groups are full of them.

All the best to the lovely Mrs Rob, and yeah, I hear ya about her feeling a bit nervous.
Ah yes, Google images. That will straighten something out for you. :lmao:
I typed in "Spring Break Pasties". All straight. :thumbsup2
I would imagine they are a bit uncomfortable. Especially taking them off. Has the potential of being a bit of a passion killer.

Have a zip-e-di-doo-dah day.

London out.

Good to hear your better half remains with work and sorry to hear the situation is not as solid as one would hope. Positive thoughts sent your way.

Almost at that 1 week "I'm checked out mode" for you!

Good times for you with the good news on both the injury and the cost recovery of missing your trip to DaWorld. Weekend was good as we did the best we could catering to the inlaws with back to back nights of family dinner / time. Played some cards with them while they were over but they are just getting old and by old I mean both physically and mentally plus they are at that argue all the time mode and I can run out of patience a bit reminded them how lucky they are and that they should focus on all the good things. Anyway, I digress, I cooked up two huge bone-in ribeyes for me and the boy, two nice filets for the women and new york strip for FIL. All in all a good weekend but to be honest father & son 3 day weekend this weekend will likely be better :smooth:

2 jobs later and I'm back.

).

Or, it could be a good sign they still need one competent employee to do all the work and just pay the management company lots of money to do nothing. Yeah, that doesn't sound much better.

Sounds fun. I like boats.

Good news on the progress. Antibiotics should take care of the other, and good news to rent out the points and refund the tickets. My faith in Disney is restored - a bit.

As for the pasties, I'll be happy to help remove them for the ladies. I don't want them to struggle.

Depends on how its pronounced. Long A = boobies, short A = delicious food pocket.

TL

Well, it depends on big those boobies are. If the long As are for Ds, then there could be food in there as well. :lmao:

Top O the Morning Dads! DW is on her way to spend a few days with DD so its just the guys until next Monday night. Looks like its a bit slow in here again so hope all are well.

Hi. I'm Danny and I'm technically new here. I joined DIS in 2014 but never really posted much.

Currently I am planning on taking my DD who will be almost 2 in December to MK with my wife who will be at the time 6 months pregnant. It'll be the wife's birthday weekend as well. I'm going to have my hands full for sure, but I can't wait to see my DD's eyes light up with all the music and lights and all that. I plan to do MK 2 days. There is so much stuff there for little ones.

The wife and I have been to all of the Disney parks numerous times (Universal as well) as we are Floridians and live about 3 hours away, but this Disney Dad thing is new for me. The last time we went was in 2015 before my wife got pregnant. Watching all the dads interact with the kids made me really want to have my own little one there to experience this!!

I never really do any of the Disney resorts as we always managed to come across either discounted or even free tickets. I did the time share sales pitch discount tickets thing more times than I want to admit (don't judge), but I am considering going the resort route in the future once baby # 2 gets to a certain age and can make his / her (we love a surprise) first trip.

This trip we found a decent offsite resort and it's just going to be a weekend thing.

Anyways, nice to finally be DIS dad. If anyone has any suggestions on surviving MK with a toddler and pregnant wife I'm all (mouse) ears!!

:welcome:

Glad to have you aboard the madness train. ;)

Since I'm the first, dues are payable to me in bacon or dole whips. Send directly to me and I'll be certain to pass along.

Unfortunately, I can't offer any advice for you...my youngest was 7 when we first took them, so have no experience with as young as you're proposing.

Welcome!

We took my daughter for the first time to WDW right before her 2nd birthday. Still some of the best memories I have from down there. You will have a blast.

We're headed back there tomorrow with her, actually. Wife and son will be along too.
