Help Me Pick a Resort-January/February (Unique Offer Code)

Wow I didn’t think it could be that warm at that time of year! That definitely makes me rethink some things. I’d really like to try the water parks but it seems like weather could be hot or cold. We don’t HAVE to do a split stay but we like to. Our goal is to try every resort so would really like to do a split stay. I was liking the looks of Saratoga too. The $110 at movies is hard to pass up since they are renovating their rooms.
You might get lucky and get warm weather, or not. When we've been there in January it's been cool to cold. During one of our late January trips, the temperature was near freezing midday with the wind chill factored in.

I packed for every season (I actually had coats and sweaters in our suitcases) because I know it can be cold but we were in summer clothes and bathing suits the whole time so don’t rule out the possibility of pool time. Maybe do the first couple nights at AS and then finish with BW so you can really enjoy Epcot.
Yeah I think we would just need to pack for anything. So you would pick BW over YC then?

Yeah I think we would just have to pack for anything. Which cheaper option would you put with BW?

Without considering price yes I’d pick BW.
Okay thanks! Since we are going to bc this month it will help us see if we want to stay at yc or not. So we just need to decide which cheaper option to split with. I’m not seeing any love for Caribbean, AoA, or the cabins. Are they not good?

Thanks for your input! We will definitely do a split stay. If you had to pick, which cheaper resort on my list would you put with YC?

I realize its not on the list but is Coronado Springs an option with the discount code as we like that one as a moderate otherwise SSR

It's preferable to not split your stay imo. I've done a few and prefer the trips where we didn't split. I like to settle in and make the resort our home away from home.

The Fort Wilderness cabins would be what I'd recommend out of your choices. (We stayed value once & I hated it, so I can't recommend a value.) Fort Wilderness is like it's own little world & it's close to MK to boot. You take a pretty little boat to get there. Hoop Dee Doo Revue is a great dinner show there. You can rent bicycles, roast marshmallows with Chip & Dale, go horseback-riding, rent a little boat to take out onto Bay Lake, etc.

In fact, if you don't want to do deluxe for your whole stay, I recommend just staying all week at Fort Wilderness. We tent camped there & loved it, but a cabin would be even better.

We stayed there in July so we wanted to try a new one. I think SSR looks nice and I thought $250 seemed cheap for a studio.

We will definitely do a split stay. We actually prefer split stays. It’s easier on the budget and we love trying out new resorts.

Thanks for the info about fort wilderness! Dh and I both thought that might be fun to have our own cabin there so we might split stay there and one of the Epcot resorts.

Thanks for your input! If you had to pick a cheaper resort to split stay with which one would you choose from my list?
I haven’t stayed any of the Values. We are staying at Movies over Thanksgiving, so I’ll report back. My family did love the cabins at FW. We stayed there last Oct, and it was an amazing experience. FW has a completely different vibe than any other resort. I want to do a long trip there, and plan several resort days. My kids were 14, 12 and 9 when we were there last, and all three of them loved FW.

Yeah let me know how movies goes! I think the new rooms would be fun and I like the toy story section. We’ve stayed in the rooms at pop and likes them a lot. It works really well for 2 people because you get the table and don’t have to have the second bed down.

I think the cabins look pretty fun! Does it have a decent pool?

The pool at FW is okay. It’s definitely not a deluxe pool, but we enjoyed it. My kids liked it better than the one at POR. That was by far their least favorite Disney pool.

I think after looking more Dh and I won’t stay at FW. We think it would be more fun with kids and we don’t normally cook at Disney. We wouldn’t want to rely on internal buses or rent a golf cart either.

So now what I need to do is check prices on my remaining resorts if we do a split stay since that can change things a bit: availability and price both.

I got a unique code too and it’s tempting beyond belief!! We didn’t plan to go as we did last December two this year and our AP expires in December- plus we have a cruise in April and are buying a house - BUT I never get these codes !! Ugh lol

That’s exactly how I’m feeling! Dh wants to go to Arizona instead and do some national parks but I don’t get these codes ever! Some of those deals are so good but the only new thing for us would be the arts festival which doesn’t appeal too much to me. Our code technically goes until the beginning of March and then there is a second set of dates from March to June but it’s not as good of a deal. I can’t decide!

I want a code! As others have said the weather can vary widely so tough to base a decision around the pool. I love Epcot area resorts so those are probably my first choice. But I've really been loving Disney Springs lately and for a relaxing shorter trip that was less park focused, I might choose Saratoga or OKW for the ability to walk/boat to. There are so many bars/restaurants I want to try and I've never met a shop I didn't like so it would be easy for me to spend several days here -- plus there is the movie theater and bowling alley.

I think Caribbean Beach still has quite a bit of construction going on so I'd research that before booking but they have announced two new restaurants that could be fun to try.

I'm no help... :rotfl:... any trip is a good trip!!

Okay I really need everyone's help! Dh and I got a Unique Offer Code in the mail for next year. We said we wouldn't go back to WDW next year because we already went 3 times this year (after October) and are going to Japan next year, but these offers are too good to pass up. We are looking at January 26-February 2. We have never seen the Arts festival so that would be the one new thing for us. We have never done the water parks, but I'm assuming it will be too cold that last week of January. Here are the deals I'm seeing:

Pin Code Choices (Jan 26-Feb 2, 7 nights)
  1. All Star Movies Preferred - $110/night $770 total
  2. Caribbean Beach King Bed - $172/night $1204 total
  3. Saratoga Springs Deluxe Studio - $250/night $1750 total
  4. Cabins at Fort Wilderness - $285/night $1995 total
  5. Art of Animation Cars Suite - $293/night $2051 total
  6. Yacht Club Garden or Woods View - $312/night $2184 total
  7. Boardwalk Garden View - $329/night $2303 total
  8. Old Key West 1-Bedroom Villa - $340/night $2380 total
Gift of Magic Offer (Jan 26-Feb 2)
Old Key West Deluxe Studio - $268/night $1876 total

These are all resorts that would be new to us so I really do need some insight. I have a general idea for how much these resorts normally cost, but I'm not sure which one of these are exceptional in terms of % off.

We would most likely do a split stay (as long as that is allowed with the Unique Offer Code). We normally do a 3/4 night split between resorts with a more expensive and less expensive mix.

The trip would most likely be for relaxing at the resort and going to the Arts festival since we will be going to WDW at the end of this month and there won't be a lot of new stuff for us to see in January. We already have 4-base tickets that were given to us. I'll take any and all ideas!

I love the EP resorts and though I typically prefer BWI over BC/YC, I always go with whatever is cheapest in that area. Both pools are great and no matter where you stay, you can still stroll over and see the entertainment on the Boardwalk in the evening. The newly renovated rooms at YC are fantastic, IMHO. YC gets my vote - great resort, save a few bucks!

Of the resorts on your list that are cheaper, I would probably just go with ASMo. The construction situation at CBR would worry me. The rest on your list aren't worth the extra cost, IMHO.

Haha yeah we won't make any decisions for a little while anyway. We go down to wdw Oct 23-30 so won't make any decisions until after that trip anyway. I went through and did 3 nights/4 nights and 4 nights/3 nights and the availability for resorts changed quite a bit. We could only do Saratoga Springs if we stayed for the entire week so that one is probably off of the list.

I'm actually leaning towards only doing 4 nights total now. We would do 2 days at Epcot since we already have 4 base tickets to use for free and would do DAH. The resorts we could do for those 4 nights are:
  1. All Star Movies Preferred - $108/night $432 total
  2. Caribbean Beach
    1. Standard - $148/night $592 total
    2. King - $169/night $676 total
  3. Yacht Club Garden or Woods View $311/night $1244 total
  4. Boardwalk Garden View $328/night $1312 total

I would do BW or YC and split with CBR.. the new Old Port Royale area looks nice!

ETA: since you aren’t doing a split anymore I would definitely do YC or BW! Probably a slight edge to YC.
