I love credit cards so much!

Checking my Amex offers: What is MRPORTER ?? For some reason the web page wouldn't open so I abandoned it.

Its $75 off $300.

Please don't even tell me if it's more wine. I've already got the most useless array of wines, designers, spas and make up/skin care - none of which I currently care about.

I do have one for Conrad Hilton - $70/$350 = Waldorf Astoria. As if I co.uld stay (when I would want to) for $350....ha.

You are at work already? I sure don't miss those early mornings leaving my house at o dark thirty!

Great job on helping him to get started on the SW strategy! I'm finding a lot of younger people are sort of reluctant because of what I call credit card fear. I think it is probably a healthy fear for most because it is oh so easy to get caught up in over spending with credit cards.
Yep! The three days I go into the office I'm up at 4 am, make my 40 minute trek so I can get into the office at 6 am but then I am off at 2:30 pm so I have most of my afternoon and evening available, can pick DS up from school at 3 pm and miss most of the ridiculous beltway/695 traffic. One of the other perks of being a fed and flex time.

Looks like it's men's clothing and shoes. And I agree on the offers. Most of what I receive are for places I have never heard of or would never shop that. I was expecting the Plat to have better offers than what I was receiving on my SPG Biz but I think my SPG actually has better offers.

Hi! I am close to an airport but have no plans to travel in January. We will be using some of the points to fly in March, which will be 'expensive' since we are waiting so long to book.

Having one CP is a good idea; I didn't consider it and will have to look into it. My initial thoughts were since the RRs don't expire, we would bank them to use beyond 2020. And we are having to pay property taxes anyway. But maybe just paying $375 is best.

I am hoping Hawaii opens up before then.
your plan was to get 2 CP at once? it's a good plan if you will use them both.... I prefer to alternate me and Dh for CP for as long as we can every 2 years... Oh and you also know that you have to get the two cards/110k on ONE acct to get a CP,right? you can't mix and match you and Dh accts to get a CP....it's one,or the other,or both if you choose.

As far as the Q4 categories for CF I know BJ'S is included. But does that go for BJs.com as well?

I'm assuming that all instore and online purchases from CF and Discover count for warehouse..... they have in the past.....(I hope they do b/c I ordered some gc from bj's.com at a discount,I'm still in 10% land on my Discover card)

Thank you. Hoping the same too. But I think I'm just going to go ahead and order this gift card I want anyways because it is a good deal.

They don't have it in the store but I will still do some in store shopping since the BJ'S in my area is offering one's (such as myself) who don't have a membership to still be able to shop there. At least for the next couple of weeks :flower1:

thanks for the note on the gc discount,I was wondering myself if they had this price instore and you saved me a 20 minute drive to check it out! They sent me a coupon that doesn't exclude gc so I may yet head instore to buy this week tho

Got some great news this morning as I’m packing up to leave WDW .....my SW Biz got approved :yay::yay::yay:. Was 30 days for a full 7 days...then poof..APPROVED!!! I have a SW flight in Nov and Dec. Being impatient, I’ll probable pull the trigger in Nov for the personal. So relieved!

Congratulations! You'll have something to look forward to coming home to!

Can someone explain the ‘unicorn’ to me? Is it the American Express Platinum or only that one with a specific promotion. I know I have got mailers for that card before but I had no idea it was so special.

So earlier I mentioned the insane crowds at Epcot.

Ok so the heat is just insane here now too. Middle of the day we left Epcot to take showers because we felt gross. Made it back to Epcot for the second 98 Degrees concert. It was a 3 shower day.

First off, we had to park in the very last row of the Imagination lot - cars in every lot. Once we made it back into WS, it was humans everywhere. The line for 98 Degrees was all the way past the Spain booth which is very far from the concert pavilion!

I got my rose gold ears and my legs are throbbing so that must mean it was a good day. Sea World tomorrow too.
I agree....SO HOT! It’s been busy but we’ve had a great weekend. The afternoon sun by 2pm has sent us back to the room to cool off and shower. I’ve never been so happy for the sun to go down. Spending all of my cheap gift cards has been fun too.

I love credit cards too - for the points yes. But that being said, credit card debt is so bad. We are now living off of cash while we pay down our approximately $5,000 in credit card debt and it feels good. It also makes you realize what you are spending.

Ok- from Sept. 13 SM from Chase on DH acct "I reviewed your accounts, and can confirm that **** ****
was previously taken off both accounts. "
I then replied with your noted text. Now I sit and wait.... thanks for all the help!
Ok update here on the saga of DH's credit report.... I check today at CK and TU shows 14 active:headache: but EQ shows 11:thumbsup2 - so according to TU he's 5/24 and according to EQ he's 3/24...... do I need to dispute directly at TU based on this? I don't get how it can be so different from one to the other here.... so that must mean Chase had them drop off the AU's at EQ, but not TU,right? I just want to get my CP plans moving (ahem I mean DH's plans:rotfl2:) so I can figure out what else I want to try right now..... (still in the middle of using the many vgc's I bought in the past few months too!)
******ETA_ went to EXP site They log the same 3/24 as EQ.(I think Chase uses Exp in my state) does this mean he's cleared for takeoff?
*****ETA (again!) did the TU dispute at their site...now I can't do anything except wait, righto? I'm hoping this works before January

WOW, so I have been away from disboards for what seems like an eternity. Jumping back in and catching up on all threads! I wanted to chime in and report that I received both of my 50,000 UR bonuses from my sapphire double dip and they are all combined onto my CSR. Its nice staring at 120,000+ UR points. Can't wait to put them to work and continue my CC plans!

The 100k Membership Rewards points offer on the Amex Platinum card is very highly targeted, usual to potential new customers who don't already have Amex's other products, and is highly coveted because although the Platinum has a $550 annual fee, the points are worth at least $1,000 in travel, and the card benefits include a $200 airline fee credit (that can be used to purchase AA, Delta, and SW gift cards, or pay for incidentals on other airlines), which can be used every calendar year (meaning you could easily "double dip" or use this benefit twice by paying just one annual fee, or even "triple dip" if the timing is right); $200 in Uber credits, divvied up by $10 every month and $35 in December; $100 Saks Fifth Avenue credit, divvied up by $50 in the first half of the year and $50 in the latter half; up to $100 credit towards Global Entry or TSA PreCheck; automatic Gold Status at Hilton and Marriott/SPG hotels; access to Amex Centurion Lounges, Escape Lounges, and the Priority Pass network of lounges, and the Delta lounge for the cardholder when you're flying on Delta.

The public offer on the Platinum is only 60k MR points, and it's possible to get a 75k MR offer on the Platinum through incognito mode on your browser. But the only way to get the 100k MR offer on the Platinum is if you're targeted by Amex through its mailers, prequalified offers on its own site, or through CardMatch. It's usually advised to jump on the 100k MR offer as soon as you see it (or by the expiration date of the mailer) because of its highly targeted nature, and it may not be available the next time you try for it.
