I had a dream last night that I was shopping (nightmare enough - I hate shopping) and I was just about to pay for my merchandise when I remembered to pay with the Freedom card so I told the lady to wait. Start rifling through my purse and I keep pulling out card after card and no Freedom card. I pull out 100s of cards and never the right one, lol. Then I go through them all again to make sure I didn't miss it. People start yelling at me to pay with one of the cards I already pulled out, but I am like No, you don't understand, I have to use a certain card. After what seemed like a dream eternity of looking through cards with people yelling at me and no Freedom card I finally say, Never mind I didn't want that shirt anyway and walk away.

Maybe that is sign that I think I have too many cards! And I think I am probably small potatoes compared to most here. I have 7 of my own plus 3 old AU cards and a new AU biz.

Ok, I weirdly somewhat lived this dream this morning, lol. I was actually looking for my insurance card before my doctor appointment and pulled out all my CCs and other cards looking for it. Went through them all multiple times then noticed that I was not pulling out very many CCs. Started to panic, wondered if I lost some on my trip. I just remembered that I pulled some out and stuck in DHs car on the way to the airport so I can't even check. I wouldn't think I would pull out the insurance card, but I still can't find it. So maybe my dream was a hint I need to clean and organize!

Thanks, does make me feel a little better because I seriously think she was wanting to switch countries. lol Her school has not been much help at all. She does know someone that went last year and she has been helping her a little but only if we know enough to ask the question. Like the health insurance, the school gave her a card and said this is your health insurance, while the visa application clearly states the insurance must come from South Africa. I told DD I don't think what the school gave you is going to work, so she texted the other girl and she also said no, the school provided one did not work. That girl didn't find out till she was in South Africa that it didn't work. I guess the school one was enough for the visa but the host university also required it before they could start classes. I am trying to help but I really don't know what half of the stuff means.

That's too bad that your daughter's school is not helping. Hopefully the people at the SA consulate can help you if there are any remaining issues when you get there. We did have one problem with a China Visa -- after submitting the application, we received a call about that something had been entered incorrectly. We were able to email the corrected page and amend the application.

After reaching out to Chase they said the first closing date will be on November 20th. I guess that means we will have a second one of December 20th this year in case we can't get the full 3K in during the next 12 days. Does that sound right?

Yes, that should be right. From what I've read SW points post within a few day of closing date, but me personally I wouldn't want to cut it that close. I don't know if bank bonuses are even on your radar, but the PNC one is pretty easy. You can fund up to $2000 on a credit card. I did this for both mine and my P2 SW Biz to get the spend out of the way faster. Then the $200 was a nice bonus.

This has got to be a mistake right? I know on the Visa cards there is this thin plastic film over the card that has the card number and expiration. Some maybe Mastercard is the same and that plastic is missing on these cards?

I applied for SW personal in flight last night. 2 offers for personal cards at 50K points each. I took the new card. Spend $2k in 3 mos for 50K points. Not instantly approved...impatiently waiting while I enjoy sunny Florida.

thanks- I have a question re: setting this card up...first of all the online verufy card isn't working for it, it was showing a different card number to verify..so I called on the automated line to do it- bt it's not on the accts page with the others...is this a whole separate setup for the swa biz card too?

if it’s your first business card you have to set up a new log in....you can then call to merge business and personal cards if you’d like to

You all have me intrigued since we have 6 years until DS starts college. What everyone going board to study or do? Pretty sure DS will be studying something science/math oriented since he detests writing and ELA.

Ds was a computer science major--he studied in Germany. Older dd spent a winter term in Greece, studying Ancient Greek literature (English major). Younger dd is a freshman International Studies major. She speaks Chinese at HSK level 3+, with new testing next week, and studied in Taiwan. She also speaks Arabic and is taking her fifth college semester class (she was homeschooled and took classes at the state flagship in our town).

A year or so ago..I paid off a phone on my Verizon account..it showed on my SW card as Verizon wireless...so you would think so..maybe try a small test payment to see what it codes as

Did you go through the app? It was there every flight. In fact there was literature in the seat pockets and I wondered if there was a paper way to apply if the app didn't work? The only problem we had was MCO-DEN there was no wifi on the plane at all. I don't know if some planes don't have it or it was just down? They did make an announcement that if you already paid for wifi, you just wasted money. lol At first thought it was just for paid wifi and the free would somehow still work, but nope no wifi the whole way. I like to look at the progress of the flight tracker so I know how much longer the torture lasts and it did not work at all.

I am wondering if the easiest way to get the last 4 numbers....and the pin....is to just buy something small on each and run as credit. May be quicker than going through the grcocery store and GCM.
