5th Park inevitable ?

The secondary unheadliner attractions in the Fantasia section are the already aforementioned ones from the early days of planning. The animatronic of the Unicorn in the cave (which is like the setting in Paris) and the adjacent maze. Also planned as well is the Lochness restaurant, which hopefully doesn't serve Lochness on the menu.

Disclaimer: Everything I just mentioned is not guaranteed to happen. For now at least it has just been discussed behind closed doors.

It looks like the Fantasia section encompasses many Fantasy stories and elements. So it is kinda like the Fantasyland of Beastly Kingdom.

I personally think the Villian park/ Dark Kingdom could work quite well, especially if it's geared towards the pre-teen and older crowd. I see a lot from people who want to take a family trip to Florida and they are torn over what park to visit, because their little kids want Disney and the older kids want Universal (specifically "I don't want to go to Disney, that's for little kids and babies!"). A Villian park could be a great way to add elements from the Decendants movies too, which seem to be quite popular with the older kids. It would also be a great spot to have the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I've seen people mention that Star Wars would've been good for a 5th park, however I think basing a whole park off of a single movie is not the way to go because if you're not a fan of that *one* thing you'd really not have much incentive to go. Just my thoughts :)

If they can build Magic Kingdom on swamp land they can build others as well. It's 2019, if a sheik in Dubai can make private islands in the middle of the ocean picture what Disney can do.
Environmental laws are different today then back was WDW was first built. You cannot drain swamp land to build on like you could back then.

Definitely, I think the villains are always a big draw. It's weird, but sometimes I even root for them in the movie. A great villain can really effect a story and a lousy one can effect it in the opposite way.

Plus Maleficent's castle would probably be the best park icon in all of Disney World.

Unicorns are proven to be pretty awesome. They can sell those brightly colored cupcakes in this section as well.

That image is from early AK concepts...

Yep, Dsource mentioned it in his or her post. I read they decided to give the animatronic (a dragon) and the maze ideas to Disneyland Paris instead.
The dragon is a much larger AA than the unicorn. Similar in concept though. Paris and Shanghai have mazes.

I would love a 5th gate centered around the villians but I think a section in MK is more realistic. Isn’t there space in Fantasyland for a huge expansion? Plus the Speedway can probably fit 2 or 3 attractions. Build a new one themed to Cars with electric cars in DHS. A Roger Rabit cartoon spin with 101 Dalmatians theming would be amazing.

I think there is more than enough infrastructure/IP in place with the current parks that a 5th gate dissects over the foreseeable future. While it is wonderful to bring Imagineer concepts to conjecture (and I fully encourage it), the logistics of sustainability and the metrics are challenging in my opinion.

Interesting points, but I still think it’s overlooking other factors that could eventually lead to another park, just not in the near future. That simply won’t happen with current leadership.
The average vacation length may not change, but most people already skip a park or three. And with Central Florida’s significant population growth rate, they may not have to depend on on vacationers as much as they currently do. If attendance continues to grow, and capacity doesn’t, that wouldn’t matter. A fifth gate could potentially pull in or hold in a different group than already goes, it wouldn’t have to solely focus on current guests. It wouldn’t even have to necessarily be a traditional theme park.
Then you also have Universal as a significant factor. If their third and fourth parks cut into Disney, a fifth park could be the reaction.
I just don’t see it being outside the realm of possibility.

This is always my point also. A new park in the next decade? No. A new park in the next 25 years? Well, that's a long time and a lot can happen. Over the next 35 years? I'd put even money on it. There just isn't a good way to predict that far out. I think it's a little silly to say "never." On the other hand, I think it's a lot silly to believe that there is anything of substance to this idea now.

Do I think Imagineers and others toss the idea around? Of course. They dream as much, if not more, than fans do. It's the same with ride and show concepts and everything else. That's why I laugh when I see people saying things like "I know this was discussed." Well, I'm pretty sure EVERYTHING has been discussed. Whether at the water cooler or in a meeting just for kicks. The question isn't whether someone threw a pie in the sky idea on the table just to do so, that happens all the time at every business in every industry, the question is whether there was any chance of it actually happening.

Do I think Imagineers daydream of another gate and chat about possible themes and ride concepts? Absolutely. Do I think it has any credence with upper management and the people who have to spend the money to make it happen? No. Not now, not in a 10 year plan.

I'm sure there are a lot of blue sky ideas. Where the 5th park will gain traction is when you see them retain the ideas for that 5th gate, rather than allowing it to be used to plus any of the current parks in the world.

One of the early plans was to have a villain section where Storybook Circus now resides. But I think it's good they didn't do it there. Because it seems like it's too big of an idea just for 1 land.

That sounds like a great place to ditch your kids or even your husband or wife. There's no need for divorces anymore, just send them into the Unicorn maze.

SWGE will carry Disney for the next ten years or so IMO. A lot can still be done at Epcot and some can still be done at MK, AK and HS. After all that I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut back on spending. Plus they are building a lot of new resorts on property. Quite a few things in front of a 5th gate IMO. Not that I wouldn’t love to see one........

I think the amount of new resorts is a reason.... for a 5th park. The parks will be overcrowded if they just keep building resorts and no new parks.
