I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

Just called the Chase status line and DH was approved for CIP #2 using his SSN!! For those collecting DPs, DH still has an open CIP from March 2018 (applied with SSN) that hasn't hit its anniversary yet. I also see the second CIP in his Chase online account. Only a $5k credit line, so seems like he might be approaching his limit with Chase, but $11k will free up when I cancel his first CIP in a couple of weeks. Now to see whether he gets the 80k welcome bonus, and whether I get my 20k UR referral bonus. Even getting just the referral points would be a win, but either way, I'm no worse off than if I just put $5k of our Africa payment on his first CIP, so worth the gamble.

I'm coming out of lurkdom (not a real word) to thank y'all for this thread. I've been reading the past month, month and a half and have learned some valuable things. I also appreciate all the off topic talk. I do not post often (occasionally on the swagbucks thread), but do read the DIS regularly. I will have to get a reddit account to keep up with news. I had to catch up with this thread after Mardi Gras last week! I don't need any real advice, but wanted to stop lurking. So as a way to introduce myself here are our stats-

Me:
Express 2000 (first credit card, must have been senior year or first semester of college)
Capital One 2001
Old Navy 2003
Disney(no fee) 2007
Citi(TYpref) 2009
CIP approved and expedited this morning! (referred from DH)

DH:
BofAm 2012
CIP 1/19

DH is a realtor (so actual business) and we own a few rentals (that's what I used as my business). I am a SAHM. Fortunately for his CIP (unfortunately for us) we just had to spend thousands on repairing floors at one of our rentals. With that and putting regular spend (health ins, cable/internet, utilities, cell phones, etc) we are just about finished with the spend. That's why I went ahead and got myself one. We do not travel by plane regularly. We've actually never flown together in almost 17 years of marriage. I have never even booked a flight (have gone with groups to various places, but others did the bookings in the past). We may do a trip to Cali this summer, so we'll probably use the UR for flights. Had I known our plans sooner, we may have gone for SW cards, but we may go for them in future. We will not need hotels, as I have family with a house north of San Diego, as well as a car for us to use:) We go to beach often, but my mom has a house on Pensacola Beach, so no need for hotels, and only 5 hour drive, so no need for flights. We have a small airport in town, but can fly out of New Orleans or Houston. Hoping to go to Europe next summer (France) to celebrate DD graduating high school. So maybe need to start a plan for that (know I'm a little late with that, but got to start somewhere). I could go to Disney every year, but family wants some different experiences. My in laws also have timeshares, so we have stayed for free in condos near Disney. I really just wanted to introduce myself, get out of lurking, and thank everyone for all the wonderful advice, experiences, and off topic conversations on this thread. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to give some background, as I slowly begin this churning thing!

Edited- When I typed it out dates were in line, DIS did not keep them all pretty (it's bothering my slightly OCD self, and I'm sure others)

Ok... any reason they would lower the credit limit on my freedom but not sw plus via sm? Or just think it depended on which csr read my message?

Unfortunately right now, my life is such that I will have no problems whatsoever meeting my minimum spends. :(
Too bad my brand new BBP has foreign transaction fees.

Ugh tried to call Chase to figure out why I can't access my SW Biz online. Shouldn't it automatically show up under my Chase Biz login? I didn't have time to wait on hold though.

Anyone have any insight as to why I can't access my SW Biz online?

I'm starting to get worried because I received the statement in the mail last week and the points still haven't posted to my RR account. Also, I hate paper statements! I need to enroll in paperless ASAP. haha!

Welcome! It's good to be out of Lurkdom!!! Sounds like you are lucky in that you are well positioned for a lot of great low cost travel resources already!! I will also be interested to see what the experts say about your upcoming trip to France.

Someone remind me... I closed DH's CIP on 3/1 via SM. AF refunded almost immediately. The card is still showing up on his online account. I vaguely remember someone talking about a way to move it to a closed part on the website?? Maybe?? How do I know if it's closed for sure though since it still appears there?
Mine still shows up in my account but says closed near the top for that card.

For anyone with a WF card, there are new Earn More Mall Offers for 40% off up to $40 at American Eagle, Banana Republic, and Old Navy. I'll be buying $100 gift cards at all three. DD loves American Eagle and someone can always use something from Gap.

didn't gap and old navy just split?

My first thought is waiting until you know if you're moving to FL. You talked about looking at houses. Does anyone know how a mortgage app would look at the credit card inquiries?

We just did a HELOC. They asked about the hard pulls within 120 days. Lucked out and they only pulled TransUnion, so I only had to explain 1 Capital One pull. If they had pulled Experian or Equifax, I would have had to explain a bunch more, lol. Had to write a letter of explanation - what the pull was for, if an account was opened, credit limit, and interest rate. They wanted proof of the credit limit and interest rate, so had to send in a statement. It happened to be a personal card. I wonder if it was a business card, if they would have asked about the business.

I remember when we bought a house it was more involved. This was before I got into churning. They wanted the bank statements for the accounts the paychecks went into and where the down payment came from. Then they questioned every large transaction going in and out of those accounts near closing.

Since @Haley R is going slow and spend will be all organic, I'm thinking it'll be fine.

In more minor cc news, the $15 statement credit posted on DH's Biz Green from using the Plated $15 off $50 offer even though he never got a confirmation/congrats email from Amex. So that's two offers in a row for us where we haven't gotten the Amex email but the offers have worked.

We have just cash them out. Even if we wanted to use them on Amazon it's better to use the card to get the 5% back and then redeem the points to pay off the card. I was not aware of another option so I did a Google and found this page which says you can use them for GC and travel through Chase - https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/amazon/redeem-rewards

The Amazon's not my card so I can't login to check but sounds like you might get a 1cpp travel redemption like the Freedoms? Could be interesting but probably cash out yields better results.
I've had an amazon card for years and never thought of this, wow thanks. I always just apply to my purchases but this makes more sense.

Ok... any reason they would lower the credit limit on my freedom but not sw plus via sm? Or just think it depended on which csr read my message?
I bet it depends. I smed to lower the cash advance on DH's new CIU in case I wanted to do bank funding with PNC. First note said they needed more time. Like, for what?!? That seemed like a very routine ask. They sent a note a few days later said they had a high volume of SMs and sorry for the delay but did lower to $100.

Maybe @SouthFayetteFan 's twitter campaign has tons of customers SMing about no Disney on the portal! At least we can hope.

Just thinking about Europe... now I'm wondering about splitting our trip up into two trips. DH has the request for some theme parks, but most are closed/very limited hours at the time I was thinking. So maybe push for one in Jan/Feb that is mostly big city things, like London/Paris (maybe DLP :rolleyes1) that kind of thing. Get to use my Marriott Platinum status. Then do a slightly shorter trip in the summer, going to some of the theme parks and maybe other things that are more in the countryside, since that's where the theme parks are mainly. Must run idea by him.

So I just chatted with Citi about getting them to match my offer to 60k. This is the answer I got word for word:
" I have reviewed your request I will be more than happy to assist you with this. Be rest assured I have raise the request for 60k points has within 5-7 business days we will notify you about this. Citi will work according to your choice as your satisfaction is our top most priority. Thank you for being so kind and understanding with me today! May the melody and spirit of 2019 fill your home with love and peace. I wish you all the best."

Ok, so I'm still unsure if I'm getting the points or not. Is she raising my points or raising my request? Not sure, lol.

Do any WF business cards get these offers? I'm truing to get back to 4/24 now that Chase seems to be more freely approving multiple business cards.

A while ago, when you couldn't use Chase Pay if your login had both personal and business cards, I spent way too much time talking to Chase setting up a separate login for just personal cards. I talked to at least 3 or 4 people who had no idea what I was talking about but of course put me on hold and spent a lot of time doing useless things. I finally called and got someone who knew right away what to do. My takeaway is that I will hang up and call again right away if a Chase IT person does not know what to do.

This is the same response I got yesterday. The rep also ended with "Happy holidays! Happy new year!" Citi is still in January. Anyway, I guess they are reviewing these requests now?

oh ok, just very odd replies, lol. At first I thought she was going to just give it to me!!

Are they available or pending? And by attached do you mean they showed in the transaction history points? I knocked this offer out immediately but don't see anything yet.

The points are pending, but they didn't show up on the transaction until it went from pending to posted. They show as a Chase Pay bonus.
