YIKES. It’s (3/12) So busy! Planning and FP are so important.

I also wonder the age of the kids too? Little kids can’t wait 75 min for small world. If mom didn’t know about FP or there weren’t anymore available that would be hard for them. I think more & more ppl are catching on to FP+ so the availability of same day FPs is dwindling. It’s also hard with little kids when food & snack lines are obnoxious everywhere you go. That’s why we only do table service lately. I feel like WDW is becoming less & less little kid friendly.
Same day FPs still work great. Of course you'd want to eat a bit earlier or later than noon-1. Mobile ordering is a game changer that not many people use yet. We did first week of Jan with only one table meal and had a perfect trip.

From what people have been describing when talking about mobile ordering, it sounds like chaos when trying to pick up your order.

Does refreshing for same day FP's during busy times like today still work? I'd say yes.

We had great luck with it (including FoP) for a party of 5 last month -- the only thing that remained totally elusive was SDMT. I had a FP for it for our first MK day, then the ride went down during our FP time and was down for a good long while. Our FP changed to an Anytime, so we used it elsewhere.... later on in the afternoon it opened back up, couldn't grab an FP for it the entire rest of the day (we were there until closing) -- and then we had a whole other MK day later that week and couldn't get one that entire day either. So it was the only ride my kids wanted that we missed... I have 3 small kids and they would not have done well in a 90 minute line.

Really?? We used it several times on our recent trip and it was awesome. At most places there was no one in front of me at all and was ready in moments. I think one place where it doesn't work at all is Aloha Aisle because they can't really make things ahead of time for you, since it will melt and all that.

Hm I haven't had issues.
I stood along a wall until I got a notification and then easily grabbed my meal.

9/10 times for us it's been at least as good as having a FP for food. Long lines at Satu'li or Aloha Isle and we just walked up to the counter and picked it up. One day at Columbia Harbor House they didn't have a good system, but was still much quicker than waiting on the line that was out the door.

It is 10am in FL.. Not one person has used all of their fastpasses yet. Of course availability is going to be good right after opening. Post again around 3 or 4pm and see if you get the same results.

People say that you can't get these rides if you don't book 60+ days out....they say that FP+ doesn't allow for people to change their plans. I'm showing that even if you don't have anything pre-booked, or decided you wanted to change parks morning of, that you can in fact do that.

If no one has used their FPs and there were no FPs 60 or 30 days out, shouldn't it still be hard to get FP then? Especially for rides like FOP?

MK on 3/2 was the busiest I have ever seen it and I’ve been Thanksgiving week.
I’m glad you said that. I have been Thanksgiving, New Years, summer, Memorial Day, etc & Mardi Gras weeks are some the worst crowds I’ve ever experienced. New Year’s Eve was the most crowded day, but the days before & after were better than Mardi Gras week. We had sworn off Mardi Gras after going 2 jammed packed years in a row. I was partly thinking of going again next yr b/c the timing would work out, but seeing this has me rethinking that again.

it is possible to use all 3 FPs before 10am. Use first one right at 9am, modify the time on the second one to start ASAP. Then do same for the 3rd. Not saying many people do it, but it IS possible.

We may sneak away again just to squeeze another trip out of our APs. It's close to President's Day and Princess run, so I don't know. We may be burnt out by then, too.

We still got a lot done, but I have to say that walking through Fantasyland on that Saturday at 2pm was a horrible decision. The rest of the park was fine.

That's not how it works...at all. The FP+ for today were mostly booked between 30 and 60 days ago, so no availability won't be good right after opening. In fact, from a refresh standpoint, it's one of the worst times. As the morning goes on and people start to alter plans, things actually get better.

I’ve found it depends on the week, the size of your party & other variables. We have had luck with it on some trips & others not so good. My theory is it depends on who the crowd is at the parks. If it’s a crowd who is FP saavy & familiar with refresh & all the other tricks, it’ll limit availability. Last yr, Thanksgiving week we had more luck than Mardi Gras week. I know a lot of ppl from Louisiana who are able to visit often & know the tricks. Thanksgiving week I saw a lot of first time buttons & overheard ppl talking who hadn’t been in years.

That’s what it seems like to me. Plus you still have to find a seat to eat the food when you do finally get it. No thanks! We’ll stick to table service.

We are going July this year so we won’t plan next yr til after that. But, we’ll also have an almost 2 yr old by Mardi Gras so IDK.

Honestly, sounds like people are just looking for reasons to dislike the newer systems. If you want table service to get out of the crowds and relax, that's fine, but there's nothing noteably wrong with mobile ordering.
It’s not there is anything wrong with it, IMO, it just doesn’t do much to improve the nightmare that counter service can be. Finding seating alone especially when it’s hot is absolutely ridiculous.
