The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane

Baaww I just got the Snacks Dress in the mail, and I am absolutely in love. <3 It's so comfy! Stayed true to size compared to my other Disney Shop dresses, all are a size Small.

Sooooooooooooo cute, I can't wait for mine!

Update from Rainbowrules.

I have to return the dress at my cost to the US address. She will reorder it for my teen. Based on the measurements I gave her (normally a size 12), she suggested xxl. Will let you know in a month how that works out. ;)

Considering I did not even receive what I paid for (24" waist when it was supposed to be 29") I am not going to be happy about having to pay for shipping it back. Better off filing a PayPal dispute. :/ It's been two days now and I have not heard back from the seller.

The Dress Shop Tiki dress vs the Trader Sam's dress

"I got my wife the Trader Sam's one and she really likes how it fits, etc. ... and similar thing in that if you didn't really know it was Trader Sam's it would just look like a Tiki themed dress" News Round Up 2019 - Post #6177

I think several of us feel this way regarding the green background.
Yeah, I definitely agree. It's cute but because I already have the tiki dress, I won't buy it.

I wonder if the dog print dress will ever come back? I tried it on in December and it was so cute but I was waiting for a sale on the website. By the time there was a sale, my size was gone and then it disappeared from the site completely.

I don't think that will be returning nor do I feel the Trader Sam's dress will be returning either. Once they're gone, they're gone same as the Zombie purse.

I am... not a fan of the Spaceship Earth dress. I guess I prefer more color? Probably for the best, my pocketbook can't take much more this month. XD

I feel the same. I like the cut and the print but feel like it needs some punch. A bold colored belt and shoes would give it the punch of color it needs.

Agreed. I have the Tiki one and while Trader Sam's is also cute, I couldn't justify buying two expensive dresses that are SO similar.

Also, anyone interested in a DIY dress form there is a great site and includes Plus Sizes and an arm pattern attachment. These downloadable patterns are based on YOUR body measurements.

Great reviews!

I ordered my pattern from this company and purchased fabrics last night. I'm super exited about this project. There are a few changes I plan to make per their instructions.
  • I plan on making an attachable hemming cage. If this works, I'll make an additional one for wider skirts.
  • Use an Extension Shower Rod to lower and raise the height of the form.
  • Instead of using cardboard I plan to use 1/2" - 1" thick ply wood at neck, shoulder and at the bottom.
  • I'll pad the inner form using various sizes of foam, cotton batting and fill the rest with poly fill.
I'll post photos as I move along. :cheer2:

Awww thank you ! I usually just wear walking sandals or my normal athletic shoes as comfort over style is important to me at Disney. I might wear some yellow heeled sandals I have though too for a short time.

Got my Disney food icons dress and its amazing! I got the 1x and it's a perfect fit and I'm usually a 16/18. I'm wearing it on Easter to the Classic afternoon tea at the Disneyland hotel.

Ahh super cute! It looks great on you! Isn't it comfy?! XD

I just got back from a trip. I normally wear a size 16 and had to do large in these dresses. I bought an XL in the Orange Bird dress because that was the smallest size the outlet had, but it’s way big in the top for me. The villains dress fit perfect in a large.

Well, my snacks dress is here. I want to love it but my weird-shaped body does not fit these Disney dresses at all. The bust is too large (the straps fall off me), the torso is too long (it hits at my hips), and you can see the princess seams in the bust are WAY wide of where my actual bust is. I don't know if sizing down will help, because it fits fine in the waist. So if I shorten the straps the neckline is way too high, which makes my non-existent boob problem even worse (side note, I'm wearing a super pushup bra in these pics). If I pull it down it hits my hips/stomach hard and poofs out in a horrible way. My Tiki dress I had altered (it cost $70 which was ridiculous) to pull the waist up & bust in. Any thoughts/suggestions/advice? Should I get it altered, go a size down, or return it knowing I just can't seem to fit into these dresses? :( Sorry for the socks & grumpy face, haha!

Bust lower Straps shortened - bye-bye boobs

The princess seam which should go over the tops of my bust but is halways to my armpit (where the shadow of my finger is on my dress is roughly where it *should* be falling). Also you can't see this in the photos, but the bottom of my bra is somewhere in the middle of the torso section of the dress.

Altered Tiki dress for reference - the waist was pulled up so the elastic doesn't sit on my hip bones.

Are you sure you’re talking about Rainbow Rules? I think you mean the sizes on the Disney Dress Shop. My DD has one halter-dress dress from there. It’s a large & she has room in it. But in Rainbowrules, they said to order xxl. That’s a big difference. We shall see. I haven’t received any updates yet.
