Been MIA again...was trying to pull off a Spring Break and couldn't. So instead it's a staycation and doing things around the house. Not having a spend right now feels weird so I went for the Barclay Biz again this morning and was sent into "review" just like I was back in the fall. I've added cards since then, but I was hoping maybe I'll get lucky.

Now I'm on hold w/ Amex. They are telling me the "5 rule" is per type. So I can have 5 biz and 5 personal. If that's the case, I'm golden on adding the Delta Biz Gold. If not, I'm cancelling that one and going for the biz gold off my self referral.

That's awful!! Did you contact Hilton? Good luck with getting this resolved!

Oh I am sorry to hear this. What will AmEx / Hilton do about the missing points? I'd be so bummed as we need all of our Honors points for spring break trip next year (just over a year away).

I've been lucky -- the only thing I've had stolen is my Netflix account. Person did the same thing -- changed my e-mail address. Except Netflix sent me an e-mail to say that my e-mail address had been changed and I called them immediately. That's when I discovered someone in Greece had hacked my account and changed my e-mail address and password. I had the account shut down in less than 12 hours. It took Netflix almost an hour to shut down the account because the hacker had changed my e-mail address so there were a lot of extra things that had to be done.

Oof!! I can relate, only too well. I hope you can get them back!!!

Hilton is being great about it. They can see 290K points were transferred out and apparently redeemed on Amazon. The downfall is I wanted them to book a room this weekend! AHHH! They are going to try to loan me the points as it's going to take 7-10 days to straighten it out. I'm guessing when my Aspire got stolen they somehow get this info too. But HTH did they hack my account to change the email?

Yeah, I rarely have anything I need to buy at Target. When they run the 10% off Target gift cards in Nov/Dec, I max it out and spend $270 for $300 worth of gift cards and it will take me a couple of years to spend that.

I'm sorry, are you serious? We go to Target a minimum of twice a week in our house! It's our closest grocery store (Super Target). So much more enjoyable to shop there than Walmart (although I do go there several times a month too). Our local Dillons (kroger) is nice but kinda out of the way for me, and more expensive imo.

Yeah, because there’s talk that AA will be scrapping their award charts too.

Just finished off the MSR on my wife's CIC. I paid my Comcast bill for the rest of the year to get 5x on all that spend. Once those post we'll be just shy of 850k URs... I guess I need to start embracing the reality of cash-out soon. If my wife and I each go for CIPs in the next 2 months I'm going to be a UR millionaire...LOL!

Ahhh... I'd be a UR millionaire if I hadn't spent any of our points, but flights here and there, and two Disneyland Hotel redemptions before Chase killed that really hit our hoard hard. I'll just say the memories were well worth it.

Haha, IKR? I felt silly typing it out but it's true. My Kroger store is closer (and where I can pick up the VGCs I convert), and Target happens to be in the same shopping center as Costco. So I always to go Costco. Now, back when Redbird was around, yes I spent a lot of time at Target!

I’m on a “finish MSR” spree today! Just complete my wife’s Citi AA Biz and her Barclay AA Biz via federal tax payments. Also taxes are done so that’s nice.

Paying for all the support clicks...not nice (but I guess a necessary evil now). Luckily the tax changes benefited us greatly vs how we’d have fared in the former system. (Although I realized that was the case long ago when I updated my tax projection spreadsheet for 2018 with the new setup).

We’ve started looking at houses and researching about the area more. It just doesn’t feel real yet. One really cool part of this is Dh will be working on Navy planes and my brother flies jets for the navy.

AWKWARD!!! Applied for the AA Citi Biz and was told I had to call in to get the card application finalized or something like that.

(Background data is that I already have the AA biz card and have had it since 2014)

Called in and the girl tells me that we have 2 options about my credit limit on this card...either option A. which was just to have a VERY low limit, or option B. which would be higher but required moving credit from my existing Citi card. I asked “which card” to which she replied “your other card of the same type, you already have this card.” Ummmm...

Needless to say, I wasn’t really sure what to say so I just went with it, took the higher CL with the moved credit, and was approved. So, we’ll see what happens I guess!

Tonight I paid my taxes, paid off my summe camp balance, and paid my sewer rent and storm water tax. Only 1k left on my cip #2 I got last week.

Now to decide whether I join the aa biz train or try to talk dh into cip #2. He’s really not into this game. I had to have him call and downgrade his cip last month as I didn’t want to pay the af. You would’ve thought I was asking him to have his teeth pulled.

If they ever question it too I would just say I like having different cards/accounts to separate my expenses. Easier for budget tracking etc. I had to call for verification a few times but they never mentioned my other cards lol
