The Running Thread - 2019

Where in AZ?!
My parents live in Waddell, which is not far from Surprise. Today we went to the Wildlife World Zoo (where the stupid woman tried to take a selfie...) which is less than 10 minutes from my parents house. Unfortunately, I fly home to rainy Seattle tomorrow afternoon...

QOTD: Monday is a big day in the world of marathons. Are you planning on watching the Boston Marathon?

ATTQOTD: I will be at work, but will do everything I can to stream it somehow! Such a exciting day!!

I will be at Disney. Monday is HS day so I won’t be watching this year. But I heard on the weather that it might pour again for race day. Let’s hope that changes. After last year these runners need a break.

QOTD: Do you have family members that run? Do you run with them or just have general running discussions with them?

ATTQOTD: My dad used to run, but only for exercise but had to stop after he he bumped by a car that messed up his knee. He tried a few times after that, and in fact his last mile was a beer mile run we had at my house a few years ago. Not a bad way to hang up the shoes lol. My sister runs a little as well and actually won 1st female at a small local race while pushing her kids in a stroller in a 5k. Other than that no one runs in the family.

ATTQOTD: Yes, I run with my husband, @Chris-Mo , nearly 100% of the time. This summer we will be splitting up some as we'll be leading different pace groups in our Galloway training group. We've recently gotten our twin 15-year old daughters to start running with us some as we bribed them with a Disney trip to run Wine and Dine with us this fall. We'll see how that goes.

I do not have family members that run regularly. DH might run at the gym (I have no idea) and he has done disney races that I am not doing because we have no idea what to do with the kids. My discussions with family regarding running are limited to how it will impact the family schedule. I am excited that my 5yos have requested to run at Disney, and do the local turkey trot. To be clear, they want the turkey trot due to memories of oreos and hot chocolate at the end two years ago.

I have 2 people I know IRL that I occasionally talk to about running. As one is not local and the other is permanently injured out of running, you are the people I can ask silly running questions, and I appreciate your patience.
