No, it's totally ok. When you guys were chatting about Gilmore Girls a few weeks back, I just remembered that I absolutely couldn't get into it. My wife basically loves anything from Amy Sherman-Palladino, so Gilmore Girls, Bunheads, and obviously The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I love my wife, but I couldn't bring myself to love Gilmore Girls or Bunheads. :confused3

I've never seen Gilmore Girls and never heard of Bunheads lol! I just don't watch a ton of tv :)

I do remember the chatter and I watched an episode or two but just didn't get into it. Sorry, I know you all love it but I just didn't.

Does this get me shunned?? Maybe?? If so, @amalone1013 and @tink1970, save me some diet DP and oreos!!!

It came highly recommended but the first time I tried watching it I just wasn't feeling it. I tried it again when I guess I was in a more receptive mood and absolutely loved it. Same with Game of Thrones, and I can't imagine not liking that one now. Maybe it's like what they say about picky eaters - tell them they have to try it 3 times, although in my case it was just 2. :rotfl:

You and my DH. He couldn't even stand being in the room when DD and I were watching Gilmore Girls.

And can I say I'm absolutely floored by how much value you and @calypso726 have gotten out of the Aspire? I have some aspirational Hilton properties in mind, but no firm plans to make a vacation out of it, and I keep telling myself that I'd better jump on it soon because Amex is going to nerf this card sooner or later, because the value you can get out of it is INSANE.

DH has been wanting the Aspire, too, but we have no plans to go anywhere that has a Hilton at this point. But it's on the "aspirational" list. ;)

Happy to be of service. :woohoo:

I have discovered that one of my habits is dreaming of far away places. Thanks to travel hacking and with the help (enablement lol?) of this group one of my dd's dream destinations is coming to fruition.

Anyways, a rambling way of saying, I am happy to offer my services letting you know about some amazing Hilton properties. For starters, Conrad Bora Bora, Conrad Maldives, Waldorf Astoria Maldives, Conrad London, there is a new Conrad in NYC (formerly the London NYC -- just finishing up a complete renovation), the Conrad Bali (which is a great value). Shall I go on? Such great value on this card! I have 3 upcoming stays at Hilton properties and will continue to seek them out when I travel because you can't beat 12X dollar on stays and free breakfast.

I really got along with the Hilton agent and we were having a great time chatting on the phone. She was kind enough to enroll me in a promotion for 2,000 points for each stay before May 5th. So my paltry $250.00 1 night stay at the Conrad Washington in 2 weeks will net me 5,000 points ($250.00 x 12) + 2,000 point bonus. That's outstanding for 1 night.

Honestly without this community I would never have this opportunity. So thank you to everyone for always being so helpful!

I don't watch actual TV. Usually it's all Netflix or Prime binging. GG in on Netflix, MMM is on Prime. We got GoT discs from the library for years, but now I'm not willing to wait since I don't want to know what is going to happen so we signed up for HBO for the first time ever. I'm generally not patient enough to watch stuff on a weekly basis.

Has anybody been able to double dip with the $40/$200 Marriott Amex offer and the Brilliant $300 statement credit?
Yes! I wasn’t thinking it would happen but my charges from Marco Island didn’t post until 4/1 which is when my AF also posted. My new round of $300 must have started on 4/1. I got the $40 before the $300 but, yes, I got them both.

Can I just say :banana::banana::goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:banana::banana::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:party:party:

I was able to call and have my certificate extended to April 30, 2020 and had the LOVELY agent also book the extra night. She also connected the 2 reservations so we won't have to switch rooms! So, value of $2,884.00 for one Aspire certificate. I've said before, but it warrants saying again, this card is a KEEPER.

Amazing! Looking forward to hearing about your trip. If I could just convince DH to fly that far for our 1st empty nester trip next fall!

I should be flying to Vegas now. :(

Does anyone know - since I canceled my Delta flight and redeposited my miles - will I also get a refund for the Comfort+ seats I bought? I used credits from the plat and gold. Do I get the cash back, credits back or neither?

I DM Delta on Twitter. They are refunding me the money for both comfort+ upgrades each way. I got an email confirmation for this. I guess if I hadn't asked, this wouldn't have happened. So there's a data point for everyone here I guess.

I registered for the Air Force 10k today for both me and DH. He immediately freaked out and I told him he should look at it that I feel he will be in good enough physical shape then to get across the finish line.

You can't lay down and die.

I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday I swear.

We have Prime, Netflix and Sling. I never watch anything on Prime, my kids watch a lot of Netflix and I love hgtv and food network so I watch Sling. My dh will either watch with me or if baseball is on, he subscribes to mlb and watches that on his phone. I did just start watching 'The Crown' and I'm not sure yet if it will be a show I want to continue with or not.

I can only seem to get into comedies on Prime (maybe because I have a short attention span). Although I did like Homecoming. Since I have Hulu for a month I started watching Keeping up with the Kardashians. I am hoping I'm hitting bottom because if this isn't bottom I'm scared.

OMG Disney priced Disney plus at $5.83 a month of you buy for the year! This is the first time in my life where I think a Disney thing is ridiculously cheap lol.

I really enjoyed the crown but liked Victoria on PBS masterpiece more. Granted it's a different era of the monarchy but I think it was done just a bit better. Plus they are aging the people rather than recasting. Still waiting to see if it gets another season though. I'm hesitant about the next season of the crown because I really liked claire foy as the queen but I'll happily take a different phillip so we'll see. I won't sign up for netflix again until both the crown and designated survivor are both on it.

Wow really??? Didn’t know it was announced. I would totally do that. Doesn’t quite make up for the fact that they are releasing The Goofy Movie on Blu Ray finally, but only to the Disney Movie Club.

Yup, $69 for the year 6.99 per month. They have tons of new and old content coming. I’m going to buy the year up front bet they will raise the price eventually lol

Yeah I'll be interested to see what the dates are if we do go forward with it, but we actually have no vacation plans for the next year other than WDW in September. And we don't have kids so no school schedule to worry about. Worst-case scenario: we're taking a nice five day trip over the winter to sunny Florida :)

I didn't have time to answer this earlier. I've done the Sheraton (Vistana Villages when it was pretty new) 4 day trip quite a while back. They offered it in the lobby of the Sheraton Boston so I signed up and paid $199 way back when. We went, enjoyed a large 1 bedroom - they have 2 sizes of 1 bedrooms - and went to the 90 minute sales pitch. They served a very nice continental breakfast.

The guy was kind of sleazy but nothing I couldn't handle. I got SPG points at the time. All good.

Fast forward to last year. I signed up for the $269 offer. I had to wait months to get the January dates I wanted, but they kept in touch and when the dates opened up I got the days I wanted. Then, daughter's family were in the accident and I canceled.

They've tried to reschedule me several times. They want a fee for rescheduling - $50 or $75 - which they say is cheaper than what they usually offer, but I have no dates right now that I want to go and not stay at DVC, so I'm a no go. There are no refunds. The reschedule fee bothers me, not the amount - just the fact that they are asking for it in general. I see it as a sort of pressure tactic. It's definitely not as laid back as DVC.

Anyway - nice timeshare - would do it if it fit my plans which in January it did, but it would be next January or February before I would want to do it again. Maybe I'll give the guy a call back in the fall.

Edit to add: They wanted more money for different dates also.

I loved Matt Smith as Phillip! I thought he nailed it. The original cast was great but I'm really looking forward to seeing what the new group brings. Particularly Helena Bonham Carter.

Thank you!! Was the $269 also for Vistana Villages? Just wondering if maybe different locations are handled differently. I have no experience with this sort of thing so I honestly don't know.

I need to discuss it more with DH but I'm really considering it. It seems like it will be a good deal for us considering we can be very flexible on timing.
